Sorry that you never had a happy ending, life can be sad like that. I share the same experience, outcome. It is what it is. Hope you are happy in life.
I met my birth mother when I was 30, but no longer in contact. My birth father died two years after I was adopted. I agree it made me happy for this young lady meeting her father.
"My karanga, but I can't hear a response." Gosh, i felt that in my bones & those hugs at the end 😭 helped my inner child, too. Thaaaank you for sharing. Beautiful
I've watched so many families reuniting. This one was the best one yet. I'm so happy for you Mikoto. What a wonderful heritage. Japanese. You touch the taonga of your people in Aotearoa. Now it begins with your Pāpã. That's just mind blowing!!! Tena koe, kotiro.❤ Your very unique. Enjoy your new journey. I bet the food is palatable... And don't forget a update. ❤. Nga mihi Te Hui.

I cried when I watched The Hui. Thank you so much for sharing your story Eria. You have a lovely husband and a handsome son. Your dad was excited to see you. Blessings and aroha from Aotearoa.
I cried watching this. I was adopted under 5 weeks old. I met my birth mother when I was 30, but only twice. I have not met my birth Father as he had already died many years ago. I am happy for this lady to be reunited with her Papa.
Migoto, I'm so happy for you my friend. Beautiful story. You're a fantastic lady and a taonga to our people. I'm overjoyed for you, you deserve this simple happiness. Maraea (who worked w you at TP). Bless you girl!
Ataahua Migoto🙏. Your mama her wairua would have been there right beside you and your papa. I love these stories and yes I do have a tangi but happy tears. Much aroha to you and your whanau xxx

My mother passed in 1947 from tuberculosis; after than I saw my dad a couple of times..He passed in 1960 in Kansas City. Your story realy touched me. I tmade think of MY DAD. I am now 81 years old.
The docu didn’t answer for me why he never returned for her. He was the adult, he was the father. I couldn’t forgive or rationalize his abandonment. She’s a wonderful person by forgiving him. Unless there was more that wasn’t addressed in the story. I could see the guilt on his face.
If her father wanted to find her. Wouldn't of been as hard as her trying to find him. Just sad really because you can see she just desperately wanted her father to love her.
He's disgusting. He knew he had a daughter and he knew exactly where she was!! He had no problem releasing himself into her mother and yet abandoned them like they didn't exist. Eff out of here. If he truly wanted her, he would have been there and there wouldn't be any of this. Why did she have to humiliate herself and reduce herself to this level to find him?? Ugh, and he's cold. He went and had another child and doesn't want to talk about it??? Yeah, probably because she isn't "pure Japanese". Anyways, I feel bad for her that she had to degrade herself to find such an insignificant "man", I mean grown boy that cant take responsibility (only men take care of their children, too many grown boys walking around Earth) and is practically begging to be loved. Sometimes we must respect ourselves and not grant others the grace they think they are entitled to. I pray she finds deep healing because he truly didn't want her.
@@lmwangi5681Really easy for you to judge someone but you have no idea what her father was thinking, what he was going through, what other responsibilities he had, etc. Just because it obviously hit a deep, touchy nerve with you, just try and relax little buddy.
Make me Sad to watch this, I'm 51 I have no idea who is my father is, no name at all, just nothing, lost my mother 22 years ago, didn't have a chance to ask about my father 😢, I have two daughters and 9 grandchildren, everything is all good, I hope l find my father one day if I know how start somewhere
@@SamStone1964do your dna. It will maybe give you answers. There will be relatives…. I had a young cousin contact me that was trying to find her dad and my daughter had contact from a girl that was adopted. I figured out that their fathers were likely my first cousins who I don’t know well. They turned out to be half sisters from the same father. It was lovely to help them find eachother.
True story, Jerry Rawlings Ghana's late military ruler from the 80s through the 90s was fathered by a Scottish man and Ghanaian woman whilst working in Ghana before that country gained independence. Whilst he was still a teenager, he had an opportunity to travel to Scotland all the way from Ghana to visit his father's home sometime I believe in the early 70s. He did not get a good reception. The front door was basically slammed in his face as his biological father denied he was his son. A very tragic true story that scarred the man for the rest of his life. Sometimes it's best not to try.
I'm very very happy that both of you were able to meet each other and you guys are very lucky. So, when are you going meet your father with your family? Would be very happy to see that.

Father and daughter didn’t hug when they met. But in 25:33 they finally did. That was unusual to me 😊

There are many unspoken words here. So much sadness amongst the happiness.
