Chris Harris Drives The New Porsche 992 GT3 Touring
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 чер 2024
- Chris got the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Porsche GB demonstrator GT3 Touring ahead of the delivery of his own car!
The 992 GT3, regardless of whether optioned with or without a wing, features the same potent flat-six motor we have all come to know from the GT3 model line.
The 992 generation of Touring is also the first time where owners have been allowed to option the PDK gearbox. This example in the video is equipped with the manual gearbox however.
Watch till the end to see a special guest...

I could watch Chris reviewing cars all day long, I don't even care which car.
I TOTALLY agree. Chris Harris is my all time best car reviewer and after him, there is Jeremy Clarkson. Chris has this simply way of communicating the most nerdy bits about a car with the driving experience that makes you feel like you have driven the car as well. Lastly, this is my dream car
His enthusiasm for cars and for driving is what does it for me. And the way he describes his emotions....unmatched in the industry.
Who else prefers Chris Harris here than on top gear
@@nkatekomkhonto7134 Both! 🤣🤣🤣
morris marina
The detail CH goes into - the explanation of how the seat contributes to a less good ride at low speed, and the heat haze behind the car - is great geeky stuff.
Confoederatio Helvetica is very detailed.
It’s funny. I just noticed the heat haze today after watching his review. Pretty cool to see.
Not even geeky, that is actually one of the fundamentals of a good car.
“I get to drive everything and this is the one.” All that needs to be said! Thanks Chris.
Chris is BY FAR the best car reviewer. He understands nuances that most others cannot formulate.
yes, new onces are critical for a motoring imam
Chris "you'll find out why in a minute" Harris.
This is amazing.
@Hòmè Ďeçoŕè Turning on closed caption at 12:26 was helpful. 😂 But seriously, John McGuinness is an amazing sportsman. Here he is at the Isle of Man TT in May 2022: ua-cam.com/video/5njRjcMWIpo/v-deo.html The most hair raising motor sport event in the world. Nothing comes close.
I love how Chris gets into the details about how a seat reacts to the suspension. A true master of detail.
This here is an perfect example of why Chris Harris is the absolut best and most honest car-reviewer
Best car journo with the best car ever made. Why would i not rewatch this a thousand times?
Will watch anything with Chris Harris In it
What if he was in a porn?
New show. Chris Harris reviews your wife. Chris Harris High Performance women.
yo mama?
oh...i'm late for the party
Planning to do a tat of ds guy!
You're the best Chris, miss your presence on UA-cam greatly!
Yeah, those simpler and more humble days were great.
Lovely review, and great to see McGuinness pop in at the end! May his sphincter never tighten, and he remain safe on the utter chaos of tarmac hell that is the IoM TT.
“Not that I’m an arse man! “Perfect Chris Harris comments. By far the best car reviewer and driver on UA-cam. Agree also, it always comes back to the Porsche 911. Great video.
So they made the 911 - a road car - and then made a racecar version, then they adapted that for the road and made the 911 GT3 - a racecar for the road - then they made it back into more of a road car - the 911 GT3 Touring, a racecar for the road, for the road.
I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by this car.
@@wronggg Confused? Didn't I outline it perfectly clearly?! 🤔😂
@@wronggg It's not that confusing really. It's a hardcore, track-focused but dramatic Porsche, for people that don't want to attract too much attention or just don't like wings.
It's not more of a road car. It's the same car without the spoiler.
@@MrRandomTwat if you're going to track it you need the wing, the Touring if you're only going to drive it on the road, the way I see it.
Damn I luv the GT3-T. Chris is always spot one. The best car reviewer hands down. But do want to give a shout out to Harry’s Garage. Watch both these chaps on a regular basis.
Carfection should be mentioned as well
Damn it's huge though.
he could review a packet of crisps. and make it interesting. just brilliant
This man could explain the dynamics involved in the movement of a snail for 2 hours and I would listen with rapt attention!
So many insane little details he picks out.
All my rev-matching heel & toe downshifting (or "blip") practice I did as a youngster in the old Mazda 1300 is now reduced to a checkbox on a screen. 3:56
I love how the editor abruptly cut Chris whinging about the wing. Perfection
That cameo with John is awesome!
Chris’ passion and love for what he does is just so energizing. I’d love to see videos of him more often. Especially on some classic cars.
"I get to drive everything and still it comes back to this car". Yep, that's all I need to hear. Well done, Chris!
And that is why I love Chris. He actually gives a review of the car by someone who knows cars. Like KNOWS what the **** he's talking about regards to handling. More Chris please!
Go John 👊🏻 Thanks Chris ❤
Chris, my man, YOU DO NOT NEED A CORPORATE JOB - you’d crush it having your own car reviewing company. And you’ll make much more
I like Chris. He's cheeky, swears and tells no bull.
Its so much better than Top Gear
polski Chris Harris wie co mowi ;)
The man, the myth, the McPint! Good luck John!
One of the best CH vids in ages! Love all of his work but when he gets into the minutiae of seat padding you know if him at his nerdy best!
I've never seen such love for a presenter in the comments as when CH is presenting. Top bloke, top reviewer. And that porsche....😍😍😍
Another cracking video. The way Chris manages to stay so humble when he talks about his ownership experiences puts most UA-cam influencers to shame. The very best motoring journalists manage to take you on a journey whilst they fill you with all the key facts about a car and the way Chris weaves his magic in this regard is almost unrivalled. The videography is also superb. Bravo 🙌🏼
The spec is absolutely lovely!
From all the TG presenters I like CH the most to listen to... Just very natural way of telling us the important details...
👌
Thank you for yet another awesome review!
Chris your car reviews are simply outstanding 😉 , can’t wait for the next , you are as much a legend as is the 911 👏
Effortless review yet so good. That sets Chris apart from the other reviewers.
These gen of 911 are the best cars in the world. So clean with awesome interiors.
Fast AF too
GT3 truly is the best car. Road. Track. Touring. Daily. Does everything.
Would love to see more content like this with Chris and track action as it used to be 👍.
"I'm not saying im an arse man" 😅 Chris Harris is a legend. I could listen to him talk about cars all day long
Outstanding Chris, John and the gt3 of course
Chris Harris + Porsche is just the best combination ever
Great to see this channel has grown so much over the last year or so. Chris makes anything shine.
Even if Chris is reviewing a Microwave i will still watch it with a smile on my face :D
Thanks Chris, Thanks CC, for letting us get our geek on.
Love content like this, thanks Chris💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
100% right about those amazing cup holders, one of my favourite pieces of design inside my old 997 2S.
He reviews car so good that he’s actually talking about the springs inside the seat .
I have a 991 GT3RS and god I love that car. It’s crazy Chris I watched you review the lava orange one and that was my dream car when it came out. Now that same car is in my garage. Thanks for the honest reviews.
Why can’t Top Gear be like this? Chris Harris, Henry Catchpole and Harry Metcalfe would be an absolutely killer combo
Now that’s an automotive dream team….I’d chuck in Matt Watson for the more lighthearted segments. I’d also have Henry’s team do the cinematography…their video production is next level.
Car review perfection: at the same time raving about how good this car is, basically saying it's the best every day sport car out there, whilst complaining about the cupholder and it's arse. Good stuff
My favorite Porsche in decades
Bravo, beautiful video. Cheers lads!
Love the cameo Chris!
"And with the money from this, are you going to sort out the old gnashers?" I think I just pissed myself!! As always, very engaging to watch, but that cameo appearance of John McGuinness was just brilliant!
I fucking died when he said that.
Thank you for pointing out all of differences between the 991.2 Touring and the 992 Touring. I recently acquired a 991.2 GT silver car and going to buy a 992 Touring next year.
He had me believing he prefers the 991.2. I certainly do. Why would you trade to a less pretty and more common one with the same power? PDK?
Simply a joy to watch.
"I get to drive everything and this is the one." ... and he means EVERYTHING!
Chris talking about the GT3 wing being better on the 992 than the one on the 991 and then catching himself going on a tangent "it's getting complicated" is why I love this man. He could talk nonstop about Porsches and would love doing so. God damn would I love to get a beer with the man
I'm so glad we are still improving things, rather than refining them to maximize profits. So refreshing to witness the intersection of passion and execution
great commentary. we just had our Porsche GT3 Touring delivered last week.
Fantastic, brilliant review as always.
The podcast with John is absolute gold! Nice to see him too.
Yep! Listened a while back and if anyone hasn't, go immediately to the CC website and find it! (episode 29)
Listening again now
He’s Some man 🤣
Brilliant podcast 👏
The finest car reviewer ever!! The detail is epic please review more Mr Harris!!
Thanks for the great 👍 video!
The passion. I love it. Thanks.
This guy is a rare gem. Old school quality at its finest
I love how he can barely see over the steering wheel :)
Best best rider ever! GOAT of motorcycle racing, sir John! Hats off mister.
Chris Harris could make a billion dollars a year SELLING Porsches! Imagine being in a Porsche dealership and Mr. Harris walks up to you with all that knowledge, personality, energy, passion, and charisma. ..Jesus! SOLD!
Honest review Chris. I too think that the ride is perfect, It's a GT3 so it's meant to be firm. As for the rear spoiler, I choose the wing as I don't like the normal 911 spoiler. A ducktail would have been perfect imo. So spot on!
Dream car .
Excellent video to start my weekend.
A perfect beast that thing...and an appearence from the greatest man in racing history at the end...fabulous.
Chris Harris is so incredibly entertaining. I hope he will stay to do so for a looooooooooong time.
… and just when you thought you made up your mind and settle for a GTS, this video pops up and throws everything you thought of out the window. So damn beautiful!
Man alive, I love Chris Harris's presenting style and knowledge, very impressive.
I've always loved 911s, but imo this is probably my favorite looking version yet. Just wish I could actually buy one without being some sort of millionaire with connections.
Agreed sir, it’s a bloody joke trying to get one. They don’t like ‘investors’ buying them but Porsche main dealers sell second hand ones for way over list price, bloody hypocrites!
This car with and without rear swankneck spoiler is lovely beauty. I like colors variety in this 992 generation and the shark blue is simply sublime.
High-end sound of the engine, although still spectacular, is too hoarse at idle, 991 sounded higher pitched, more metallic, same like the new Cayman GT4 RS that sounds awesomely adictive at 9.000 rpm.
Great review, but the addition of John McGuiness at the end was priceless! Awesome video
991.2 gt3 is my dream car. Perfect combination of analog feeling and new tech
The 991 looks better as a touring but the 992 looks better with the wing to my eyes. Helps balance out those nostrils at the front.
Agreed!
Another great video, thank you Chris and by the way I totally agree with you about the ride and handling of the car, I’ve had my GT3 for just two weeks and I think that it rides and handles just the way that a GT3 should. Furthermore, for what it’s worth, I also hate the stupid drivers cup holder, the old pop out ones were brilliant and the new removable thing is a load of rubbish. When will Collecting Cars be coming up to the North West of England?
Chris videos are the best !
Chris, you are a true Legend! Love you, greetings from Germany 🇩🇪❤️
Never stop making content Chris! Love watchin you!
What a machine this is! So beautifully crafted! Now I can firmly admit that I like the Porsche GT3! (The wing ruins almost everything to me).
Anything car related with Chris Harris is a must watch
Thank you Chris
I think the idea of the GT3 Touring is great, but unfortunately I miss the wing somehow. Either I want an uncompromising track tool or a GT car for long distances.
Funny how this seems like a "bargain" compared to rivals but its still trading in the 175-250k range .. lol. Still tho, its wonderful.
what rivals? You can get a rwd r8 V10 for cheaper
The best automotive journalism!!
Mr Harris you get as geeky as you want because that's what I want, you're outlook on life, your opinion. So.... many thanks and all the best. There's me thinking what a lovely video THEN you spring the guest on us GLORIOUS.
They keep talking about how this is the last generation of ICE cars. I somehow just don't believe it. Don't even have a good justification for why I feel this way.
I would watch Chris Harris review a riding mower. He's the best.
I could not agree more.
Yeah, that wing!! Only solid explanation I can imagine would be the one responsible suffering from a stroke
Same same same same spec! Arriving next week. I CANNOT WAIT
The way I love my "analog' 911 SC (bought in 1988)..makes me think that with all these new 'glass' cockpit stuff and screens and electronics...where will it be and what will it look like in 30 years..????..will it even still work like everything on my car..??....i doubt it...and it"s an awful thought ,everything that"s being installed on today"s cars will be so outdated by new tech that today"s sports cars won't survive the time like older models did....a 2022 Porsche will still run in 2052....???!!!
For me the touring just misses a trick, why does it have to be so close to a standard GT3? It could be an epic road car sister to the GT3s epic track/fast road bias. Very slightly soften it down, ditch the dodgy uncomfortable fronts and give it rear seats. The clue should be in the name, Touring.
Because thats the point of the gt3, there's already a car thats slightly softer and has reat seats, its called the 911 gts
I wonder if Porsche reads this, agree with u, missed opportunity, softer springs, NA engine touring options with rear seats, yes please
@@perplex103 The GTS doesn't have the GT3 motor.
Yeah, I feel that. Adding a back seat and toning the car down would be a good way to make the Touring package more distinct from a regular GT3, beyond just removing the wing.
@@TheDoosh79 Motors are electric... engines are combustion... well you know what I mean ;-) but I agree with you wholeheartedly... the GT3's engine is the heart of the car..
🐎Great love for gentlemen cars & what a nice surprise to see J.Mcguinness onboard !!
Your comments around the 6 min mark are why I'm considering a gt3 touring.
Will be a sad day when the combustion engine is no more. The sound..the feel..gear changes..it's what connects you to the car.. motion is emotion. I get the need for EV's..but it's going to be another step in dumbing down the human senses. Going to be strange when you don't hear noise coming from vehicles!! Also..Chris is the man 👌🏼
