Better to keep the backup phrase in the safe for static storage. You can always buy a new device. But I like to keep in practice. You might be rusty after 5 years of not using it. Once or twice a year check your device for updates. you'll be glad you did. If you keep your gun in a holster for 5 years without practicing on the range, you may not be able to reflexively use it when you need it.
Is it a similar price just to buy btc on trezer desktop app instead of other exchanges making it more simple or is it cheaper to buy on other exchanges ? Thanks
CryptoDad, thank's for lots of great reviews. I have a question: Is it safe to create a new wallet (see and write down the seed phrase) on a Trezor Safe 5 while internet is on the laptop? Or should I turn off internet when I reach the point where the seed phrase is created? Could the seed somehow be sent back through the software to Trezor centrally or anywhere else? I wonder if I need to create a new wallet or not. I see that with the Dcent biometric the seed phrase is available while offline. Thank's for answering.
@photograficalex the wallet is built to protect the private key even during the set up process. So it’s not going to somehow leak if it’s connected to the computer. That’s the way the device functions in every day use as well. The set up requires you to connect it to Trezor suite in order to walk you through the set up process. But the seed phrase generation is done on the device and the seed phrase is only displayed on the device. So you don’t have to worry about it “leaking” to your computer, or to the Internet, or to Trezor, or anywhere else. You might want to consider getting the Trezor expert set up session. It’s a one-on-one video set up session with a one time fee, and they do a really good job of explaining all of the security features of the device and walking through the process.
I have a trezor and not happy that I can't transfer other crytos besides the main ones. I have to use a 3rd party and that doesn't seem safe. Looking at tangrem to solve this issue.
Yep, similar thoughts here, and an app like exodus doesn't integrate solidly enough with trezor, as I cannot find a safe t-bridge download and no link on the trezor official website.
Hello, I have a question when using ballet cold wallet and Tangem and we change to a new phone does it automatically transfer to the new phone when apps are downloaded?
There is a process: Tangem Card: Lost Your Phone? No Worries! Learn the Easy Way to Restore Your Crypto Wallet!: ua-cam.com/video/jnhDZE22KLI/v-deo.html But for ballet cards, they are like bearer bonds or gold coins. If you lose it, its gone
when you want to move your crypto from a trezor t to a trezor safe 5 you just have to set up the trezor safe 5 then send over the crypto from the trezor t correct? or is there another way to do the transfer
@ are you indicating that the same Trezor suite I am using now with my Trezor t can also be used with trezor safe 5 or should I or can I set up another Trezor suite just to be used with trezor safe 5?
There are options to buy and sell within the Trezor suite software, but you would have to connect your bank or ATM card to these third-party payment processors that they partner with. I prefer to transfer my crypto to a trusted US based exchange if I wish to cash out. So you would want to open an account with say, Coinbase, Kraken or Gemini. From there, you connect your bank account and then when you transfer crypto to the exchange, you can sell your crypto for US dollar and cash out from there.
Nice video. If I buy the Bitcoin-only version, will I be able to easily install the universal firmware to support all cryptocurrencies available in the standard version? Thanks in advance!
I'm sorry I bought a Trezor! I have Render trapped on there that I can't remove. I've had about 30 or more messages back and forth with Trezor suggesting different things to try, but I still can't remove my Render!
I am new to this so this may be a dumb question but is the Bitcoin actually in the device or is the device just keeping track of where your bitcoin is on the blockchain? Meaning if I lost the device, I dont lose my BTC as its not really in the device only?
The Bitcoin is stored on the blockchain, the software (desktop/mobile) is used to manage/interact with the Bitcoin (send/receive/swap) and the device stores the secret key which is used to sign transactions to send or swap Bitcoin out the blockchain address where it is stored, no signing is required to receive to the address.
Great analysis, thank you! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
So I’m just wondering where you store your crypto? When you keep your crypto on an exchange like Coinbase, you’re trusting Coinbase. When you keep your crypto in a wallet, you are basically trusting the software developers and your computer to be free of viruses and malware. You are right there is always some level of trust in the manufacturer of the hardware wallet and/or the company that makes the secure element chip. But this is still, far away, the most secure way to store your crypto. DYI solutions are usually riskier.
@thistle_boy a separate computer which is never connected. A watch wallet on acsecond and connected computer which creates unsigned transactions read by qr code on the disconnected computer which signs the transactions transmitted by qr code before broadcated on the bitcoin network.
Thanks for video, was helpful!!
I wanted to transfer coin base to t razor safe 5 then put in safe for 10 years. Does this battery need to be charged so often?? The for info

Glad it was helpful!
does my btc receive address change every time i deposit??
Would you recommend the trezor safe 5 or coldcard q for bitcoin only as a second device next to ledger?
how do you add a FLR wallet to trezor 5 so you can transfer from coinbase?
Trezor Safe 5 does not support VeChain and Star Atlas. Is there a way that we can manually put them in the Trezor Safe 5?

Can you send BTC from your wallet to someone else's wallet without going through an exchange?
ofcourse Yes, ask the public address of the one whom you want to send btc.
Yes you can. Just get them to give you the address of their wallet
@@CryptoDad Thanks. Is this considered a taxable event and needs to be self reported?
Do you Recommend this over the flex?
wondering the same.
Can you hold USDC via Solana? On trezor

@ thank you so much Crypto Dad you are the best!😊
Hi, crypto dad does the bullet cold wallet work the same way in terms of attaching it to the new phone?
when you want to move your crypto from a trezor t to a trezor safe 5 you just have to set up the trezor safe 5 then send over the crypto from the trezor t correct? or is there another way to do the transfer
Correct. You can set them both up in Trezor Suite and send crypto back and forth between them
@ are you indicating that the same Trezor suite I am using now with my Trezor t can also be used with trezor safe 5 or should I or can I set up another Trezor suite just to be used with trezor safe 5?
Yes, Trezor Suite supports more than one device
Nice video

Huh? You have a crypto that’s stuck in it?
Any luck getting ur render out?
Just bought the btc edition only ;) 👌

@@FredMcIntyre Thanks
Correct. The bitcoin is on the blockchain. The device can be replaced as long a you have the backup phrase (created during setup)
@@CryptoDad Thanks
Cool! 💪🏼

Do you still own the USDT or has someone stolen it given that you foolishly gave away your seed phrase, which in the crypto world is a cardinal sin??
😃👍🏼👊🏼
And you trust trezor not to steal your btc?
I cannot believe bitcoin owners trust hardware wallets.
