This is list is absurd. I'm not a massive Hanyu fan but his quads are clearly the best. Most difficult entries, perfect air position and gorgeous landings - absolutely effortless.
This list isn’t absurd. With most of the skaters you’re looking at quads from the 80s and 90s. I don’t see why you would even try to compare. The original quads were done with the old take off, which also allowed for great height and ice coverage. Hanyu likely does do the prettiest quad today, as unlike most of his competitors, he also gets nice air time and ice coverage. Most today go straight up and rotate in place, landing almost where they took off, which is ugly.
Yuzuru' jumps are so soft and beautiful, they look effortless despite being so difficult (especially the transitions into them) I don't get why he's not first on this list.
Catherinecantlife yuzuru's landings are the smoothest out of everyone, and his position is tighter. Plus his entrances are the hardest. He really did deserve that spot.
it's not even personally, objectively speaking, Yuzu's jumps should be no. 1.. the entry, take-off, air position, landing, exit, all so beautifully and perfectly executed.. but of course since i'm Yuzu's fan some other people out there would just say i'm an obsessed evil fanyu and any fs knowledge i have should not be believed in eventhough there are hundreds of videos out there supporting the facts *rolls eyes*
Plushenko n Hanyu r the best. But I reaaaally like Hanyu, his landings r so light n graceful. The others were like barely holding on or had choppy landings.
Like, I'm very impressed that the 3rd guy managed to land everything, but it was only impressive because he fucked up going into them somehow, which means those jumps weren't objectively that great?
Uh like most of the comments here I don't agree with this list, Hanyu at number 5? Seriously? He can easily take the number 1 spot, either him or Plushenko, although I prefer Hanyu because I find his choreography and landings more beautiful.
Patrick's quad toe looks better than Yuzurus to me, I'd give Hanyu second and Plushenko third to be honest. Plushenko hasn't always struck me as "great" at doing quads.
If this list is really updated Nathan Chen would be the King of the Quads for sure, the sheer number ,diversity of quad and quality makes him the best.
Thang Vuong Boyang Jin has the best quad lutz not Chen. but Chen's quad flip is much better than so called Uno's flip which is actually overrotated triple flip
Are you really putting Yuzuru in 5th?! He can do 4toe, 4sal, 4lo, and he's training for a 4ax. Those guys who are above him on you "list" mostly did only 4toe, like really?! And Patrick Chan on second place?! This got to be biased.
Plush and Yuzu should be 1 and 2, I'm fine with either order. But I'd have Yuzu first since he has performed 3 types in competition and Plushenko only did the toe, though it was pretty frickin' glorious. That 4/3/2 was everything!!
danibellerika im serious. he did quad sal 3t in 1999 or 2000 i dont remember the date well but his quad sal s better than toe s .He is not using that because in old scoring system you dont need more quads to take 6.0 marks thats all. My english is bad so i hope you can understand
If your English is bad you should lay off the hate speech and not tell people to kill themselves or that they don't know what they're talking about. I've been watching skating since 2001 so I know a few things. The sal was not Plushenko's best jump at all. Heck, he doubled a planned TRIPLE in Torino. Apparently he only did the quad sal a couple of times. It was so infrequent I actually forgot about it. Plushenko's 4/3/2 is what made me pay attention to skating and he was my favorite guy at the time.
danibellerika do twenty surgery s and try to skate my friend :) .I dont think you watching figure skating since 2001.You just watching some old videos now ;) Anyway past is past i must say that one think im not happy that know many skaters plan 4 quads .In past people mixed balle and skating then they study the jumps. Now everyone just try for to more and more tech ablity.exp : nathan chen. But i love one skater who really understand that art mixed the balletic style with his. style and skate with dignity.he is yuzuru.Im glad to he is leading the new genaration of figure skating.I hope the new ones comes after this generation follow the yuzuru s ,plushenko s and kulik s. way to skate
The amount of Plushenko's surgeries has nothing to do with the sal not being a good jump for him. And you can look up my account on FSU and see how old my account from there is to see I have indeed been a skating fan for a long long time. What reason would I have to lie about that? Next you'll say I wasn't in Helsinki even though I uploaded dozens of videos. Yes, Yuzuru Hanyu is the best figure skater I've ever seen because he can balance artistry with the best jumps I've ever seen. I am so lucky I got to see him skate live and break his world record again. I'll never forget it.
"The amount of Plushenko's surgeries has nothing to do with the sal not being a good jump for him" im sorry my friend but your comment just so stupid im not gonna answer
Yuzuru #1 plain and simple while I'd say Goebel would be a distant second. Yuzuru makes it look so simple and he is super elegant and gorgeous. His choreography and artistry is on par. While Goebel was a good jumper, his artistry sucked and Plushenko's landings were heavy and they looked sloppy.
honestly it's a little ionic to put Patrick ahead of Yuzuru on this list. I like Patrick's skating, but after all, he was the one to said men didn't need a quad in skating lol
How we rate skaters can be subjective, but it's interesting to see quads by top skaters side by side. There are indeed different styles - how they prepare the jump, how the jumps are weaved into the choreography, how the landing knee is used, how rigid or relaxed the upper body looks before and after the jump, arm placement, the distance the jump travels, the flow of the jump trajectory, the height of the jump, etc.
I have to say that Yuzu is the best among all of them, his quads are beautiful and it looks exactly easy and elegant, he also landed his quads like it's just a simple part of his performance, not struggling m. I didn't know about other athletes, I respect them all but looking at their quads, they're not "smooth" like Yuzu did.
Yuzuru has the best jumps. It’s really beautiful and elegant. The take off, rotation.position in the air and landing is undoubtedly the best.He makes it look so easy and it shows how skilled he is.Plus his quads worth the 1st place obviously
Other than the "placement" in this top five quad "skaters" totally debatable, I have always found it interesting that Plushenko's quads had the axis progressively more tilted backward (with respect to the blades, not the skating direction) in the later revolutions but Plush somehow made them work and landed them clean, in the same way Tonya Harding's successful 3A attempts had progressively tilted axis but somehow balanced upon landing.
It is what happens when the skater is taught a proper, good basic technique when they are younger. Plushenko was given the Mishin technique and could probably do a quad toe in his sleep.
Yuzuru can jump 4lz 4loop 4toeloop 4salchow 4flip 4 ax(about 4 ax... I saw in some video that he landed perfektly in 4ax and I watched it in slow mode and It was perfektly 4 and half rounds in her jump...) . So yeah yuzuru have to be 1. LOVE U YUZURU, ALWAYS WITH YOU, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPEND!!!!!!
He has never jumped 4 axel even in practice. I’m not sure about the filip either. But yeah, he has glorious 4T, 4S, 4Lo and 4Lz so he is the best among the skaters in this list.
you can tell how much men's skating over the years, in the older clips the commentators get so excited about one quad and think it's the best thing in the world but nowadays theres skaters who integrate two or three or even more quads in their programs
Javier Fernandez honorable mention? Really? Ilya Kulik an honorable mention when he only did 2 Quads in his entire short career? Whatever happened to Chengiang li, Stephane Lambiel, Daisuke Takahashi, Brian Joubert, and Kevin van der Parren? Got long ways for this to be a very credible post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree about Kulik only ever hitting 2 quads in competition. He is a flawless technician for sure though. 5 is not really enough to include everybody. Fernandez' quads are not as good as the people in this group. Yagudin should not even be in here because his air position is hideous. Not saying I can do better, but there could definitely have been somebody else in his slot.
Radu, are you referring to me? Just watch Yagudin's position in the air...... His right(standing leg) leg is bent in the air. That is supposed to be straight for the smallest axis in the rotational position. I agree he is great but if you compare Yagudin's air position to Kulik or Plushenko it leaves quite a bit to be desired. Are you a skater, a coach with considerable technical expertise or just a Yagudin fanboy?
Kulik was one of the greatest pure technicians of all time. Additionally, he competed in an era where quads were NOT the norm and very rare. When he retired, quads were only just starting to become more common (thanks largely to the rivalry between his younger compatriots). Kulik landing "only" two clean quads is not something to insult him for, it's something to praise him for because he did it in a time when a quad was beyond difficult. And he was and always will be the first ever Olympic Champion to win his title with one. After him, every Olympic Champion would do so until Lysacek.
Although not an Olympic Gold medalist, before there was Ilya Kulik, there was Elvis Stojko!!!!! Kulik was lucky to land one at the Olympics. Stojko had been landing them since 1994. Who did the first quad in combination? Elvis Stojko!
This list should be vice-versa, with Hanyu number 1 - no other variants. I think the list is made by a Plush- fan that sees nothing else except his beloved treasure, ignoring the fact that other people can do lots of things better than Plush
Alex: this was uploaded 2+ years ago when Chen was probably still in junior or a 1st year senior (where he wasn't exactly making the splash he did last season)
Yuni Lius Mmm... Maybe so, but he's currently the only person competing with all five types of quads. If this video were up-to-date, he would definitely top the list.
Is the order random? Because if it is, fine. But if it isn't, you have just done the four who aren't Hanyu a great disservice, my friend. It's like looking at the human evolution chart the other way around. The difference is plain as day to even those who don't know fs. Might as well not have put Hanyu in there at all if you want a closer comparison for the other four. Removing Hanyu from the equation altogether, and not factoring in anybody else who aren't in the top 4 listed here, I'd give Chan the top spot if we're going by order of jump quality and not type and difficulty of jump, because his blends into the choreography the nicest out of the 4, and therefore, the most evolved. Note: This was uploaded 2 years ago, before there were 4Los in play. Probably before Hanyu was breaking records and fs in general with Chopin and SEIMEI. Which probably explains the lack of mention of Jin and his jaw-dropping 4Lz. Some here don't seem to realize this...
I have a big amount of respect for each of the skaters here but I have to say that hanyu deserves number 1. If you look at his landings and then look at others, his landings are the smoothest among everyone. Also the prettiest but that is my opinion.
Timothy seems really huge compare to other skaters on the list, more like football player or sth... anyway, Yuzuru should rank higher for his smoother landing but again, almost everyone on this list is from like previous era so I’m not sure whether it’s comparable.
Unfortunately most of them only did toe jump and salchou in this video which are relatively easy ones. I have to mention that boyang Jin China and Yuma Shono japan always start their show with a quad loop, which I think is more difficult skill. Even personally I like Yuzuru so much however he also used to starting his SP with the easiest quad toe. Technically boyang jin is the best on this planet.
I do think Plushenko's do have their charm. But, comparing modern skaters, Yuzuru should be above Patrick.
agree
honestly the order of this list should be reversed
I think you have to understand that this is also from 2015, and his quads have improved greatly.
Yuzuru' jumps are so soft and beautiful, they look effortless despite being so difficult (especially the transitions into them) I don't get why he's not first on this list.
Yuzuru's technique and transition from choreography into jumps is the greatest.
Hanyu's quads in his Sochi short program are perfection haha
manuefige wdym? he only had one.
Difficult entries, smooth jumps, beautiful choreography and textbook landings
Personally I feel that Yuzuru should be number 1 in the list
Catherinecantlife yuzuru's landings are the smoothest out of everyone, and his position is tighter. Plus his entrances are the hardest. He really did deserve that spot.
So true
it's not even personally, objectively speaking, Yuzu's jumps should be no. 1.. the entry, take-off, air position, landing, exit, all so beautifully and perfectly executed..
but of course since i'm Yuzu's fan some other people out there would just say i'm an obsessed evil fanyu and any fs knowledge i have should not be believed in eventhough there are hundreds of videos out there supporting the facts *rolls eyes*
I agree
His 4loop at the 2017 worlds was spectacular
its really interesting listening to the commentators in the older clips get SO excited about the quads.
YUZURU WAS BY FAR THE BEST!! HE HAS DONE THE MOST GORGEOUS CLEAN QUAD JUMPS OF ANY MAN IN CURRENT HISTORY.
Yuzu's jumps, with everything entrance and landing, are so beautiful and elegant. He is not stiff but so soft as if he flies
Plushenko’s got the best costumes!😁
Uh like most of the comments here I don't agree with this list, Hanyu at number 5? Seriously? He can easily take the number 1 spot, either him or Plushenko, although I prefer Hanyu because I find his choreography and landings more beautiful.
Definitely Yes. The Yuzuru jumps was the best in this video. Your form of landing is very perfect. Your quads are the other world.
Yes, I agree: either Plushenko or Hanyu. Which means that the lowest place possible for Hanyu in this list is the second.
Patrick's quad toe looks better than Yuzurus to me, I'd give Hanyu second and Plushenko third to be honest. Plushenko hasn't always struck me as "great" at doing quads.
I stopped watching after seeing Hanyu was just at #5.
mrKpooper4 hahahaha I stopped taking the vid seriously after Hanyu was just five
@@elizabethlililee9755 lol
i watched to see the others get progressively worse
Hanyu in 5th? When he's on, no one can touch him. The fluidity in his landings is unmatched.
Yuzuru should be number one. His landings are so smooth, it looks effortless...
I can not believe, that Yuzuru is 5. He is best figure skater ever!! He is number one!! He is better jumper than Chan, Yagudin ect.
Here's someone who is living in the past. Yuzuru number 5? Tell timothy or yagudin to attempt a quad loop or lutz
Timothy quit skating completely because the quads ruined his body.
Plushenko did. Eleven years before Mroz got it ratified, in fact.
Tatsiana A Sorry don't agree, perhaps Jin is prettier in the air, but Nathan is far superior in his landing position and consistency.
Hahaha Yuzu number five? The person who made this must be like a salty Patrick Chan fan or something lol
Are you really putting Yuzuru in 5th?! He can do 4toe, 4sal, 4lo, and he's training for a 4ax. Those guys who are above him on you "list" mostly did only 4toe, like really?! And Patrick Chan on second place?! This got to be biased.
Javi is definitely not just an honorable mention but fine xD
Nobody can jump and land a quad with the lightness, beauty and elegance as Yuzuru Hanyu does, period.
Your “ranking”, if it is, is a insipide joke !
Plush and Yuzu should be 1 and 2, I'm fine with either order. But I'd have Yuzu first since he has performed 3 types in competition and Plushenko only did the toe, though it was pretty frickin' glorious. That 4/3/2 was everything!!

honestly it's a little ionic to put Patrick ahead of Yuzuru on this list. I like Patrick's skating, but after all, he was the one to said men didn't need a quad in skating lol
Yuzuru is Number 1 for sure
Guys keep in mind this was done in 2014, now everyone knows that Hanyu's quads are the best out of the men in the video.
wait,are u serious?yuzuru number 5? bro,u good huh?
Yuzuru Hanyu es y será siempre el número 1

I also feel like yuzuru should be first.
This list is full of figure skating legends. The order isn't important.
Yuzuru should be no 1. Technically transition in and out his superb!
Yuzuru should be number 1.
I have to say that Yuzu is the best among all of them, his quads are beautiful and it looks exactly easy and elegant, he also landed his quads like it's just a simple part of his performance, not struggling m. CHECK OUT YUZURU HANYU IN THE 2017 LONG PROGRAMME HE'S THE BEST THATS EVER BEEN
1. Yuzuru
2. Javier
3. Patrick
How can hanyu only no. 5 who broke all the records in history of figure skating? This uploader is patrick chan fan.
Yuzuru N1 ;)
Hanyu has the most fluid quads! #1 actually!
Yuzu should be No1
yuzu is the best
Yuzuru has the best jumps. It’s really beautiful and elegant. The take off, rotation.position in the air and landing is undoubtedly the best.He makes it look so easy and it shows how skilled he is.Plus his quads worth the 1st place obviously

this morning I rolled off the sofa, but with style.
The others had beauty, determination, and power to get it on the score card and ratified, Hanyu made it aesthetically beautiful choreography-wise.
I personally believe King of the Quad should go to someone who did/does Multiple different kinds of quad like Goebel or Yuzuru or Chan
Yuzuru should be number 1!!!
Everybody knows that..
Yuzuru Hanyu is no. 1 figure skater. He should be I repeat he should be at 1 St place

Kristy Cheung I agree. The old skaters made something new or different. Actually the new skaters just doing the same thing but more modern.
how can you put a jump like 3:24 anywhere near hanyu. i’m not even much of a yuzuru fan in general but that’s obviously just not right.
Yagudin is the absolute perfection. No one is close to him
Hanyu only the fifth? He must definitely be higher!
All this was when Nathan Chen was only 16 years old.
I'm a huge yuzu fan but I think Goebel's were the best! Simply beautiful and well-centred
Long live Yuzuru Hanyu, great and talented skater
Javier Fernandez tiene los mejores quadruples salchows
Javier Fernandez honorable mention? Really? Ilya Kulik an honorable mention when he only did 2 Quads in his entire short career? Whatever happened to Chengiang li, Stephane Lambiel, Daisuke Takahashi, Brian Joubert, and Kevin van der Parren? Got long ways for this to be a very credible post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not saying I can do better, but there could definitely have been somebody else in his slot.
out of all the skaters out there this clown decides to bash fucking yagudin..one of the gretest ever lol pathetic
I think either Hanyu or Plushenko should be first
You know who should be first?
Yuri on ice ::::)
what??? yuzuru hanyu number 5???????? WTF
Wow Yagudin quad triple double! and PLUSHENKO!
now we have nahtan chen and this list must change lol
Yuzuru number 5? Lmao I wonder who the double Olympic champion is.
Yuzuru quinto?!?! E Fernandez non è tra i primi 5?!?! Sinceramente sono in completo disaccordo. Hanyu, Fernandez, Yagudin, Plushenko, Chen
Where is Nathan Chen’s quad lutz and flip?
E Chen Do you realise how old this video is?
Yagudin's jumps are also great, but he's back drops when he lands, which isn't the best landing position.
Nathan Chen should be top of the list here.
no, yuzuru is the best.
Alex: this was uploaded 2+ years ago when Chen was probably still in junior or a 1st year senior (where he wasn't exactly making the splash he did last season)
Lol nathan's jump is so-so
He can land it. But it's a pain to watch. Not beauty.
Yuni Lius Mmm... Maybe so, but he's currently the only person competing with all five types of quads. If this video were up-to-date, he would definitely top the list.
Number One Ace Yeah I agree actually
He's getting better and better
It's good to see that
Конечно, не согласна с распределением мест.
И можно было бы упомянуть лучший четверной лутц в истории от Миши Коляды. Его лутц - колоссальный прыжок
Everyone here be talking about Yuzu but what about Nathan Chen?
im here because of yuri on ice and yuzuru : >
Mikhail Kolyada's 4Lz is the most beautiful quad ever, no contest
gives me chills
Yuzuru wifes are here.
Melanie Wilhelm: Noone's saying anything that isn't the truth, though, if the list is indeed by order of awesomeness and not random.
1.2: Victor Nikiforov
Is the order random? Because if it is, fine. But if it isn't, you have just done the four who aren't Hanyu a great disservice, my friend. It's like looking at the human evolution chart the other way around. The difference is plain as day to even those who don't know fs. I have a big amount of respect for each of the skaters here but I have to say that hanyu deserves number 1. If you look at his landings and then look at others, his landings are the smoothest among everyone. Also the prettiest but that is my opinion.
Subjective! Where are you from?
Where was Nathan Chen??
wasn't a senior in 2015
In my opinion, the best quad Toes ever are MACHIDA Tatsuki's ones! Check out 2014 Worlds SP! Incredible technique, incrible everthing!
Add Nathan Chen to this list right under yuzuru
I hate comparing people over a period of time. The early skaters revolutionized skating and didn’t have the current training and modern conditioning
Timothy seems really huge compare to other skaters on the list, more like football player or sth... anyway, Yuzuru should rank higher for his smoother landing but again, almost everyone on this list is from like previous era so I’m not sure whether it’s comparable.
saying plushenko has the best quads is like saying trusova has the best technique. its just unrealistic
Yuzuruuuu! 😍
Not to be mean, but how were Timothy Goebels squats rated? Half of them were not even clearly landed.
ARE YOU KIDDING NOW YUZUS JUMPS ARE CLEARLY NUMBER 1!!!!
Yeah true @ben Bailey
Unfortunately most of them only did toe jump and salchou in this video which are relatively easy ones.
I have to mention that boyang Jin China and Yuma Shono japan always start their show with a quad loop, which I think is more difficult skill.
Even personally I like Yuzuru so much however he also used to starting his SP with the easiest quad toe.
Technically boyang jin is the best on this planet.
even in 2015 yuzu was nowhere near 5th overall
Where Plush 4To+3To+3Lo?
how did you put zhenya first, he muscles his jumps and rarely had a hard entry, hanyu is clearly the best
Top 5...before the Nathan Chen Era
everl0ng but his jumps are not beautiful uh......
@@yunilius7193 Look at his Quads in Saitama 2019, especially the most difficult 4Lz - +4, 76 GOE. Don't just say that 9 international were wrong ...
Plushenko my endless love
Yuzuro is number one.
This is obviously an old video. Nathan Chen is #1
This list is ridiculous, where is Yuma?
uh where's jin boyang his quads are textbook
he wasn't in the senios in 2015, he made his debut in 2015/2016 season, the one after this video made
