      @Erik A Are you an athlete? If not then you don't know anything. Not only Yuzu but all of the athletes. They want to challenge themselves and how far they could go to achieve what they want. They are fully aware of the outcome of getting hurt to achieve it. The only thing we can do is to appreciate and respect them.

    • @erika9763
      @erika9763 5 років тому +7

      @@takahiro5528 You don't have to be an athlete to understand the concept of destroying your body needlessly, you just have to be past the age of 25. Hanyu will regret what he has done when he's 40.

    • @takahiro5528
      @takahiro5528 5 років тому +60

      @Erik A I know what you meant but, our thinking is totally different from all athletes. Do you know the phrase ”pushing your limits”? Of course, they know the consequences of what they're doing but that what is an athlete for. They're pushing their limits to have a better outcome. They might be some consequences but Yuzu is already a legendary athlete. Don't, worry he will never regret anything. He is very aware of his health and continues taking care of himself. If he does regret it, he should not push his limits a long time ago. If all-athlete will be limited to what they supposed to be doing, the sporting world will be boring. The sporting world is evolving because of this athlete pushing their limits. And besides, they can retire anytime. That is why I admire and respect them.

    I admire Yuzuru's ambitions in the last season. Pulling off a triple axel right after a quad toe, KNOWING that it will not give him that high of a base value due to it being a sequence, just because he simply wanted to do it. And being able to pull off a triple axel from practically at rest, would set him up for being able to do a quad axel in competition I bet.

To see him heartbroken made me heartbroken. @@ExtraVictory I know. Yuzaru opened the door to a completely different world and he has to feel proud of that; being the one who started it all. When I saw Illia I was blown away and thinking of how Yuzu would’ve felt. He definitely has to be acknowledged in this. I was actually very surprised that none of the commentators brought up Yuzuru when Illia landed the 4A. Both of them will be legends and looked up to by everyone in the skating world for generations. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Illia, and I really hope to see Yuzaru on the ice again as a special guest performance or something during a big competition. I’d especially love to see him at the Olympics again, even if his skates don’t touch the ice.

      They really need to do something about Floops (flip off blade + forward takeoff) and Zloops (lutz of blade and forward takeoff). They should be treated the same as a F< e/Lz< e because takeoff from the blade is at last as bad, if not worse than wrong edge takeoff and the ISU tech videos say Flip and Lutz must be in the air by 1/4 so they're also under-rotated! They should add a b symbol for blade takeoff on edge jump!!!

      Ohh, I think I heard in the internet, Brian Orser said that Yuzu was on Harness jumping Quintuples, the one who holds the harness says they aren't even lifting Yuzu, they are just following Yuzu's movements.
      Also Ghislain said that Yuzu was supposed to attempt 4A at Worlds 2020 but sadly the said competition was cancelled due to Pandemic.
      Then Nationals happened at December 2020, Yuzu said he stopped training 4A during Pandemic, but as soon as the Nationals ends, he will let his body recover, then built it up again (building a body that withstands the 4A) with the right amount of training and then he'll jump it in a competition, changing the Free Skate with instead of Quad Loop as the first jump, it will be 4A.
      I think Yuzu meant to build a stronger thighs that could jump extra 0.10cm into his already 0.70cm record of his 3A. I also observed that He has a nice new built up body (Very muscly than ever) during Nationals.

      Without that jump by Yuzuru Illia probably wouldn't have.made history with the first clean 4A ratified in competition. They both pushed the sport forward, its a shame that Yuzuru's achievement has been a bit overshadowed now that Ilia landed a clean ratified 4A and is getting all the hype for being the first to land it ever, especially at just 17. Illia likely won't ever match what Yuzuru achieved but he will have the history of the first 4A in his back pocket

    Can I just take a moment to say *thank you SO much* for this video??? 😊 I'm so grateful that you took the time to do this, Yuzutea-san!!! This video is actually what brought me to become a skating fan. I remember when I was younger, I always thought that it was cool and pretty, but in my country FS is REALLY underrated, so I had little chances to watch it. The first time I saw more than a glimpse of something remotely close was when I went on a sort of family reunion thing at an Asian restaurant and saw a broadcast of the Shibutani siblings ice dancing in competition. It left an impression on me, but not enough for me to realistically spend time and energy following.
    And then, one day, some of your videos began appearing in my recommendations, *even though I had never watched any skating videos on UA-cam.* I was kind of thrown off, because how does UA-cam know what I secretly like??? 😲 But I was really busy, so I ignored the urge. But this video showed up one day, and I was really interested by the title. So I clicked....
    ...And RIP non-skating fan me 😂. The deciding moment for me, I think, was when I saw Hanyu Yuzuru. Even just seeing his jumps and knowing *nothing* about his backstory struck a chord in me. I guess it helped that I've always had an appreciation for Japanese culture, and so I guess I paid extra attention to him after reading his name. I'm still not sure why, though. I just knew that something about him was different, and I wanted to know what.
    Anyways, sorry for the long rant, but again, thank you so much for this!!! I've become a firm Fanyu and figure skating fan because of your videos. As Yuzuru-kun would say:
    *ありがとうございました!!!* 😄❤❤❤

      Rightfully so. Yuzuru making that jump pushed the sport forward, even though he fell and couldn't land it clean or get it ratified. But he did rotate 4.5x. I believe that helped Illia Malinin accomplish landing the first ratified clean 4A in competition
