I admire Yuzuru's ambitions in the last season. Pulling off a triple axel right after a quad toe, KNOWING that it will not give him that high of a base value due to it being a sequence, just because he simply wanted to do it. And being able to pull off a triple axel from practically at rest, would set him up for being able to do a quad axel in competition I bet.

I once watched a documentary about competitive figure skating, and in the documentary it said that figure skating is the most beautiful and brutal sport there is. I mean, not only do you compete on cold, hard ice, you are also literally wearing a pair of blades on your feet and you move in an incredible speed and do dangerous jumps and turns and somehow try to land safely and beautifully amidst all of it..

pretty cool vid. As a person who doesn't really watch figure skating they all looked the same to me, but they do look insane though. Much respect to competitive figure skaters.
Honestly, watching the skaters fall and stand again very quickly and continuing their performance, is something we need to deeply understand. Their mental stability is golden.
any quad-eu-3F is a weird combo for me in my opinion. i’m so used to eu-sal combos that seeing a flip in a combo is weird (loved how you had likey and la vie en rose in the background btw!)
DuniaR A sequence uses an Axel as the second jump. Sequences have a lower BV than combinations because skaters have to hop out of the first jump in order to take off into an Axel
Can I just take a moment to say *thank you SO much* for this video??? 😊 I'm so grateful that you took the time to do this, Yuzutea-san!!! This video is actually what brought me to become a skating fan. I remember when I was younger, I always thought that it was cool and pretty, but in my country FS is REALLY underrated, so I had little chances to watch it. The first time I saw more than a glimpse of something remotely close was when I went on a sort of family reunion thing at an Asian restaurant and saw a broadcast of the Shibutani siblings ice dancing in competition. It left an impression on me, but not enough for me to realistically spend time and energy following. And then, one day, some of your videos began appearing in my recommendations, *even though I had never watched any skating videos on UA-cam.* I was kind of thrown off, because how does UA-cam know what I secretly like??? 😲 But I was really busy, so I ignored the urge. But this video showed up one day, and I was really interested by the title. So I clicked.... ...And RIP non-skating fan me 😂. The deciding moment for me, I think, was when I saw Hanyu Yuzuru. Even just seeing his jumps and knowing *nothing* about his backstory struck a chord in me. I guess it helped that I've always had an appreciation for Japanese culture, and so I guess I paid extra attention to him after reading his name. I'm still not sure why, though. I just knew that something about him was different, and I wanted to know what. Anyways, sorry for the long rant, but again, thank you so much for this!!! I've become a firm Fanyu and figure skating fan because of your videos. As Yuzuru-kun would say: *ありがとうございました!!!* 😄❤❤❤
I enjoy watching figure skating. But I enjoyed watching this even more bc of the background musics "Likey" and "La Vie En Rose" by Twice and Iz*One, two of my fav kpop girl groups. Excellent video btw.
Well, finally, Yuzuru Hanyu tried at the Beijing Olympics 2022 and although he fell, it was certified 4A because he completed 4.5 revolutions landed then fell. Although, he placed just 4th, he was happy he accomplished and certified the 4A.
Rightfully so. Yuzuru making that jump pushed the sport forward, even though he fell and couldn't land it clean or get it ratified. But he did rotate 4.5x. I believe that helped Illia Malinin accomplish landing the first ratified clean 4A in competition
As Yuzuru Hanyu once said "efforts may lie, but will never be in vain". I'm glad he's officially recognized the Greatest Figure Skater of the Century, even though he fell on his first Certified 4A, his efforts didn't go in waste, it didn't change the fact that he is the Greatest Figure Skater in 100 years of sports history. All the best for his up coming 7 SOLO ice shows tour "Echoes of Life" starting in 3 weeks 💜💜💜
WTF is that 3Lz+3F for Christ's sake How did Dimitriev even land that without twisting his ankle to hell and back And that 'only Yuzuru is crazy enough to pull this out in comps'... Yeah, made my day 😂
i am happy to say that here in 2022 anna shcherbakova has landed quad flips as well as alexandra trusova, adelia petrosian has landed quad loop in domestic competitions, and yuzuru hanyu has also attemped quad axel jumps
I really wish that more skaters sought to try a 3 lutz+3 flip combination, but I hope that it can be landed a little more gracefully. The landing of the lutz looked so scary and weird, but I bet that with enough practice, someone could perfect it.
4A still has not been landed in competition sadly, but Yuzuru has come extremely close!! I can’t recall if he’s done so successfully in practice or not but he came close to landing it this year and if he keeps competing then I’m sure he’ll get it eventually in comp
Illia Malinin representing USA landed a clean ratified 4A in competition at Skate America. Everyone freaked out and gave him the hype of being the first to ever land it. Which, technically Yuzuru's 4A were only attempts and not clean or ratified. But still they both pushed the sport forward
Yuzuru is just so talented and he makes everything look easy , even though I know how hard it is , but everytime I watch him, I still think it is even easier than sleeping. Interesting, I've never seen that footage before but that would be a really cool combo!
why his parents? 😂
Tobiahs Ellias because you can only find the video on his father’s fb page.
Yuzuru Hanyu is the most elegant skater that ever lived.
Yes , he is ! And most talented of all too
Me: *doesnt even know how to skate*
Also me: *watches videos about figure skating*
I love how quickly and professionally they carry on after falls. It's really nice :)
I smiled when I heard that the bgm was *Twice's Likey* and *IzOne's La Vie En Rose* 😊
I love everyone appreciating Yuzu but let's not forget Shoma's TA + QT, that's damn hard!!!
You mean, 3A + 4T? Sorry, it's just using the letters instead of numbers can be confusing, so I wanted to clarify. 😂
@@2Y1720 Yeah😅😂
2022 YUZURU HANYU 4A IN BEIJING WINTER OLYMPICS HAS BEEN CERTIFIED !! YEAYYYY
2:38 "both have continued to try the 4Lo unsuccessfully".
Me: until Hanyu was like "allow me to introduce myself"?
And sure enough, next clip shows he was the first one to land it cleanly xD
With a style. 😎
I dig the triple lutz-triple flip combo-that is incredible!!! Who would have thought to land the lutz like that???!! I hope others will try it and make it a thing... it’s fantastic!
I was expecting a euler in between, but no. He did a one-foot 3Lz and launched right into the 3F. Really digging that. That's fresh.
The delayed axel is my favorite rare jump.
A "good" delayed axel or even a great tuck axel is really preferable to seeing all these wild jumps here that are actually pretty commonplace.
My version
Skating:
Difficulty:1,000 out of 1,000
Actually move on the ice without additional help:
Difficulty:
*INFINITY*
Shoma and Yuzu are my favorites when it comes to skating 💖👀
YUZU WILL DEFINITELY LAND THE "QUAD AXEL" in the next competition.. once this pandemic is over. WATCH OUT. 🥰🥰
I hope he didnt get injured again 😣
This sport is poetry in movement.
All those loops, and everything looks extremely beautiful.
OMG THEY HAD SOME OF THE OUTFITS FROM YURI ON ICE
Nina mango arts OTABEK :D
@@sunnyeds7694 YASS
Nina mango arts
Nina mango arts lol I think this should be “yuri on ice had some of their outfits”
@@blue984 same XD
pretty cool vid. As a person who doesn't really watch figure skating they all looked the same to me, but they do look insane though. Much respect to competitive figure skaters.
Honestly, watching the skaters fall and stand again very quickly and continuing their performance, is something we need to deeply understand.
Their mental stability is golden.
Love how it switched from the first name to the last name or the other way around 😂😂 First yuzu then Hanyu 😂🤔
*me watches vid until the chorus drops* La La La Vien Rose!
( we love a good twice and I*zone stan)
any quad-eu-3F is a weird combo for me in my opinion. i’m so used to eu-sal combos that seeing a flip in a combo is weird
(loved how you had likey and la vie en rose in the background btw!)
What's the difference btw a Combo and a SEQ? Tx!
DuniaR A sequence uses an Axel as the second jump. Sequences have a lower BV than combinations because skaters have to hop out of the first jump in order to take off into an Axel
Other people: This new jump will never be landed cleanly
Yuzuru: *Hold my cute fails*
Love how you make it like a chronological historic video, and love the comments as well. Thank you for educating us.
What got me:
→ Likey perfect instrumental, Stan talent, Stan TWICE
→ la vie en rose, THE SONG
→ Yuzuru Hanyu's audacity and serenity on making history
imagine figure skating and doing these jumps perfectly it’s like achieving in a whole other level.
As Yuzuru-kun would say:
*ありがとうございました!!!* 😄❤❤❤
Shoma/Alexander Samarin: jump 4F
me: mmmm prerotation 3/4 and full blade that's what I like
I enjoy watching figure skating. But I enjoyed watching this even more bc of the background musics "Likey" and "La Vie En Rose" by Twice and Iz*One, two of my fav kpop girl groups. Excellent video btw.
3 years after this video was made:
trusova: *lands every quad except axel*
ilia malinin: *lands the quad axel*
Playing Kpop songs in the background, ah my Kpop heart is blessed 😂💜💜💜.
TWICE - LIKEY
IZ*ONE - LaVienRose
@XD Jayde Omg why did I write Fancy thanks 💜.
Thank you for the video! I enjoyed how the rating stars exploded in quantity the crazier the jumps lol
Yuzuru is such a legend 😍👏
i LOVE how informative this is while still being cute and easy to understand !!
I’m so glad kailani Craine was featured in this video!! She’s so underrated 💞
"We will have to wait and see If it's actually possible to land a 4A"
*Yuzuru putting on his skates in the background *
who else is watching after the first quad axel got landed?
I love yuzuru jumps with Quad Jump + Euler + Triple Salchow!
Wow it's crazy that the 4 Axel has now been successfully done by Illia Malinin 🤯🤯
Yuzu is the only one that is crazy enough to do it just because he wanted to knowing he won’t get a high BV😂❤️
WTF is that 3Lz+3F for Christ's sake
How did Dimitriev even land that without twisting his ankle to hell and back
And that 'only Yuzuru is crazy enough to pull this out in comps'... Yeah, made my day 😂
Yuzuru is just beautiful perfection.
i am happy to say that here in 2022 anna shcherbakova has landed quad flips as well as alexandra trusova, adelia petrosian has landed quad loop in domestic competitions, and yuzuru hanyu has also attemped quad axel jumps
Ilia Malinin:
4A
4Lz + 1Eu + 3F
3Lz + 3A (at the end of free program).
And it was the SAME program.
Video: Skating
Bgm: Likey?! From friking twice?! Lol It made me fangirl ahaha and yeah Yuzuru mah boi in thumbnail is so cute
I really wish that more skaters sought to try a 3 lutz+3 flip combination, but I hope that it can be landed a little more gracefully. The landing of the lutz looked so scary and weird, but I bet that with enough practice, someone could perfect it.
Alexei Yagudin will forever be the men's skating legend.
Yuzuru it's crazy, he's training 4A
When you try to see the differences between these jumps, but your only ice skating reference is Yuri on Ice... 😂😂😂
Watching this now while a quad axle has been landed is crazy. 😅
When you do it , you will know how amazing he is. He is just the king of ice , the GOAT forever! He is so skilled and elegant! Yuzu is definitely my favorite skater. Yuzu is trying 4A too.Hope we can see his progress soon.
"Yuzu is the only one crazy enough to try this in competition" .... hahaha that's why he keeps setting records 😂 truly proud of this boy
Yuzuru and Shoma getting riskier and riskier every damn competition, kudossss
