By far the most exciting and best short program in ladies' figure skating history. Each move besides being balletic and perfectly executed was precise and accurate to every beat of the music. Sasha proved that when she was good, was great; but when she was on fire, she was the greatest ever. So memorable after all these years.

But for the wrong edge on the lutz, that was clinical. Not a fault to be found. Whoever gave that 5.6, 5.7 is insane. Her best performance of her career. The power, the speed of everything. Just brilliant. That spiral sequence and the way it was choreographed to the music was insane. The combination spin at the end and how that beautifully accentuated the peak of the music. Chef’s kiss.
The passion she carries and the extraordinary showman ship is certainly one of the best of time! Sad she didn't have the consistency at long programs...
I fully agree, Bryce Johnson, Very unique, born iceskater, both in artistry, and pioneering new stunning techniques which she introduced in 2000 usa nationals SP at 14-15, great clothes, music, class, a shining, unforgettable star.
This is her best short program in my opinion. This is the one I like to watch the most. She is one of my inspirations for skating. Hope to be as good as her one day! :)

Fabulous as always from Sasha Cohen... but what was the cameraman thinking in a close up on the charlotte spiral (and one of the spins) so you could barely see it? Sasha's extension/flexibility on this move is arguably the best in the world but you can't see it when the camera is focused only on her ankle. The quality of the cameraman needs to be up to the quality of the skater!!!

Thank you, Leotjoe for posting this performance. Sasha changed figure skating more than anyone else in history. Ladies are still trying to do what Sasha did, but it's just not happening. You would need the top skills from 5 different championship skaters to even approach the artistry of Sasha Cohen. It really is remarkable. Since Sasha left, it's just been a parade of ladies skaters hurrying from jump to jump, spin to spin, and none of them look as good as Sasha does. Right down to the last ladies figure skater - Sasha is the greatest of all time. She is the single most talented figure skater in history. She just is.

It's amazing if skating had just a short program how different some of the ladies results would be. If we take some of the top names in sport from the golden years (1992-2006) and gave them the titles based on the short program...just imagine this.

Nobody said only Michelle can do the spiral but Michelle single handedly raised the bar. Bobek also had a good spiral but nobody dared do the inside outside edge change. Michelle's spiral is still more iconic as it's been with Michelle for years and it's still great. Sasha's spiral is amazing definitely. Even today, Yu Na Kim & Mao Asada cannot do great spirals.

You got it backwards, Technical only refers to the elements and components like jumps and other footwork. Artistry is Sasha's big advantage when she manages to express herself and the way she executes her spirals.

I watch Sasha whenever I need to get my fierce back on. She is such a beast.

I so wish Sasha could have kept the same steadiness and artistry in her long programs. If she had she would have been unbeatable!
1:48 expressive down to her finger tips. 6.0 in the SP at Worlds was very rare and she got 4 of them, wow.
Glorious...and the finish and that final "take that!!" pose was phenomenal...
This was one rarely perfomance where she skated at her best and it was lovely: she just put FIRE into that choreography!
