Watching Jeff backing out of that parking lot was like watching a master class in towing. Excellent team work.
No lie. I've done some tricky trailer backing in my day(I'm 63), but I'm not sure that I could have pulled THAT off.
But STILL a nightmare! Lord.... You guys are such a good team, it's wonderful to see it.

Listening to Jeff explain to what he had to do to make that tow is a prime example of why it costs more on some illegal tows than others. Common sense people!

It's not only that, but I'm willing to bet that when he has to go out and tow someone who is stuck off the road, or stuck in deep snow or ice and is just down on their luck, Jeff likely gives a break to them and maybe even discounts the prices in certain situations at his discretion. By standing firm and never giving breaks on the illegal parking tows, that is how he makes up for any losses incurred from giving cheaper prices to the people who are just down on their luck or stuck in a bad spot.
Sounds like the Pigeon Forge is most likely getting a kickback from their rotation drivers.

In my opinion the Pigeon Forge PD should have allowed you to remove the Jeep. When I worked an accident scene we did have a rotation BUT if the owner requested a specific tow company, that request was honored.
Postal truck has 7 mirrors, and they're adjuated in such a way that the driver can see 360° around the vehicle. Once you learn to back up one of those, you're gold. Mirrors work much better than back up cameras!
You should make a punch card for the FedEx guy. 5th one is free. What a tough place to drive a box truck for a living. Good luck to him.

Will admit driving those trucks up roads like that for fedex is sketchy enough where I live, but that road...think I'll 34 it and take the day off thanks
The delivery companies should insist on turnarounds for their trucks on narrow mountain roads. Or have a pick up place in town
They really need to give those drivers sprinter vans; they are made for those narrow mountain roads.
They give him that big truck to make that delivery, and they possibly know that the roads are to small. In some of those areas, they should never have taken that big box truck. They have smaller delivery vans That should have been used for that delivery. The company should have supplied him with a better vehicle. And this is gonna go on his record even though they didn't give him the proper equipment to make that areas deliveries.

I grew up on a hilltop in Eastern Kentucky and learned real quick how to use mirrors to back off the hill. Still, that old hill is nothing compared to the ridges in the Smokies. You guys have awesome skills. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Jeff and Kristen, great job on that towing of an illegal parker, and I don't understand how anyone thinks they're entitled to park just wherever. They don't own the parking spots for pete's sake!
P.S. Yes, he was pretty nice about it, but he knew better! He acknowledged that, which is more than most do.
Hey Jeff and Kristen. Your comments about the Tow rotation were spot on. I’m remembering when I first got started in New Albany Indiana my Boss was the only Contractor for the Pd until he wasn’t.
The next Election he supported the winning candidate and we got the contract again.
It’s a vicious circle and as an owner you can fight for it and then be on the hot seat for any infraction.
Bottom line for me is it really worth it? You’re doing a great job and you’re obviously profitable and we both know that you can spread yourself too thin. Not doing business with them isn’t going to be the downfall of your business.

In my old town I worked with a guy who was ex-local-PD and his description made it was evident that the tow enforcement contracting was akin to mafia-style shenanigans.

Unfortunately, it will take case law to.make them stop...Pro tip for the dumb drunk idiots out there; If you do this, move as faar away as quickly as possible, then call the tow in./If the police see you, you are going to jail...

Wow! That illegal park was so difficult but Jeff, you are such an amazing driver, you did it with ease! Kudos to Kristen too for her amazing instructions! On another note, we were in Gatlinburg for Thanksgiving weekend and looked for y’all everywhere! So sad we couldn’t at least say hi! Maybe next time!

As for the Pigeon Forge PD, it's not "legal", for them to impound on private property, bit unless you.actually own the property...They can solicit a trespass on the truck, and take it anyway...We need case law like this...But, it's hardly worth the lawyer fees...
But in the end ya'll are still the one I would call. So PFP seem to be on the short stick. Bet you two lose no sleep over this.
Damn that was some awesome teamwork. Jeffs reversing skills are on point and Kristens guidance is great. I used to teach trailer reversing for emergency services. I also own a small caravan. My wife's guidance looks like an air traffic controller having an epileptic fit so I can appreciate the skills involved in this one.

Im around that area alot. Looking on google maps, those boulders haven't been at that house for very long. The boulders saved that family's home. Jeff just an idea but look into some Gojacks. They are light and easy to use. They will allow you to move the vehicles by hand or the winch allowing you to hook up faster and easier in those tight spaces.

Jeff, my hat is off to you sir, I was a Carney back when I was a youngster and I'd gotten into a few sticky spots, some of which weren't too nice to drive in to, much less out of, but I think that was even better than I ever could have done, y'all got some serious skills there, , good thing y'all got Mizz Kristen with ya to help get the cars out, because that was one tight location to try to work with
As someone who orders a lot of things online because I am unable to go get them I appreciate all delivery drivers

Subaru guy was respectful and owned up to his mistake, but his 10 minutes sure change the clock segments. ETA had to get the call, drive to the lot, hookup the vehicle and then maneuver backwards down the alley which took longer than 10 minutes.

Suggestion… why don’t you keep garage dollys on the truck so you can simply roll a vehicle out of a parking space independently of the truck until you can get it to a place where you can easily get it hooked and outta there?
Watching your tight repos make me think of what the shed repos guys use. The things that they stand on and roll right up to one. You could probably make some adaptor that would lift back end of car up in a tight parking spot squeeze
