I've become an opera fan because of Marcelito! How random is that? ❤️ I absolutely _adore_ the richness and tone of his baritone. And to think he hasn't even had any training. It's truly unbelievable. He must have an extraordinary musicality.
His story is a heartbreaking one. Abandoned by his Mother while his Father was in prison she left him in the streets when he was only 7 years old. He was setting pins for what equaled in American money 1 dollar and used that to eat and survive on when he got paid each time. He would sing to himself and learned he could sing in different tones and when doing it he didn't feel so lonely. As he got older he went on Philippines got talent to try and locate any family members. It took a while but on the finale family members was in the audience and he won the contest. Now he is married and has a little girl.
Brilliant talent, Two voices, high and low tones in a 1/2 breath, singing duet alone, in two different languages than his own. Its live on a WishBus...Your expression priceless...Peace

Marcelito's mother abandoned him at age 7. His father was in jail. Marcelito lived on the streets, and worked at a bowling alley MANUALLY setting up the pins. He said that when he got scared he sang. GOD BLEST HIM WITH THIS VOICE. The great Comforter gave Marcelito music so that he would be comforted in his sorrows and fears! And now the world is blest to hear Marcelito's music!!

Your reaction was priceless! It's my understanding that Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song, no classical training period, by listening to a recording by Celine Dion Andrea Bocelli. His performance is gorgeous considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it. He speaks Philipino broken english, but his singing was self taught. The recording engineer was teasing him about his female voice. That's why he spit her out at the end. Notice his big grin after doing that. He is singing now in English, Italian, Spanish and Chinese but not speaking those languages. Possibility even more by now. He grew up on the streets from age 7 or 8, and now is married and a father! He is very humble, helping out his neighbors with odd jobs and repairs, even though his reported net worth is around $5,000,000 USD. His ambition serves him well in whatever he does!
I know...he's made me cry several times before. My goosebumps have goosebumps when I hear him sing. Marcelito Castro Pomoy IS THE REAL DEAL. Check out his life story; it is worthy of a movie. I had the great privilege of meeting and watching him live in concert last June in Toronto. Watching him live was like an out of body experience. The videos DO NOT do his voice any justice. You're one of my top three choices for reaction to Marcelito. I have searched the net for reactions and analysis as to "How" he can sing two different registers off setting each other. I used to sing four decades ago so i know what an impossibility it is for most. Watching Marcelito switch back and forth and the clarity and tonality in his voices is equivalent to watching Jesus walk on water. A spiritual experience. Thanks for the great perspective.
