The Legend of the Titanic is a 1999 Italian animated film directed by Orlando Corradi and Kim J. Ok. The film is a very loose adaptation of the RMS Titanic sinking and featured several fantasy elements such as anthropomorphic animals.

You know everyone calls this insulting, stupid, heinous, but it's clear this is a true tragedy. Poor grandpa was so traumatized by the titanic maritime disaster and seeing all his friends and family meet their fate in the ocean that he had to make up this story about magic whales just to cope!
If that was the twist ending, it might be enough to save this movie.

I'm shocked that the director of these Titanic films didn't do a WW2 movie in the same style. How about the obviously racially stereotyped Allied and Axis armies, say the Allied Powers, all consist of an army of squirrels goes up against armies of Nazi bears led by a bear Adolf Hitler,, but... Hitler is being mind controlled by a dragon that's never explained?
Oh and it turns out that nobody really died and that the moral of the movie is not to litter? It makes as about much sense as these Titanic films, could be just as disgustingly offensive to the people that died, blatantly inaccurate and fucked up as the Titanic films and I thought up this comment in just a couple of minutes.

This movie was shit from the start so I don't think the creators of this movie don't give an f anymore
Historically, there were enough lifeboats to save half of the total passengers onboard the Titanic, which is estimated to be 2224, but in the film they say there's room for everyone. Over 1500 people died that night.

Dear god this movie is a disgrace to history. If you want to call it an alternate universe, that's fine. But when you're saying the people who died in the greatest maritime disaster in history NEVER DIED, it's not just insulting, but heinous!

all these producers saw were dollar signs. Funny enough if they had removed the titanic element and just worked on the ideas they conjured up for the movie this might've actually been interesting.
You know, I feel like I could write a better version of this, one that’s actually more realistic and plausible. All the main characters would be the same, but there would be no talking mice or dolphins, no evil shark gangs, no octopus named Tentacles, and no overblown “Save the Whales” message.
Juan would look for Elizabeth on the ship just so he could return her glove, and Connors would be the one to comfort Elizabeth when she’s crying on the bow of the ship.
Also, people would actually die in my version, including Ronnie, and Connors would be traumatized because of it.

Okay, for everyone wondering why the original was flagged and copyrighted: it was because in the original Doug used the actual SW music for the Vader scene at the start. THAT was the copyrighted stuff.
I think there was originally music over the helicopter jaegermeister scene, whereas it's silent now. Could there have been an issue with that as well?

It's an Italian movie, in my country people are batshit insane, would never admit that what they do sucks, and greedy, really greedy.

Fun fact, the main mouse appears to be wearing a very specific undershirt. White and blue stripe fatigues were most commonly worn by sailors in the Soviet Navy, usually underneath their actual uniforms, but it was customary to lower the collar to expose the top of the shirt. It was also worn by Soviet Marines. I believe the Russian navy still uses them as part of the naval dress uniform

You know, this makes me at least give the first animated Titanic movie credit. As bad as it was, it still had a lot of people die at the end, even characters you'd seen throughout the movie. In this one they just erase all the tragedy while injecting the weirdest stuff possible into it.
I always figure the villain wasn’t the iceberg but human ego. They were so sure their greatest boat could never sink that they didn’t bother preparing for an accident.

The "Idontwannamarrythisguybutmyfatherforcesmeto" arc could be much more logical if father didn't knew daughter doesn't want to marry the bad guy, and daughter would be afraid to tell it bc of possibility to upset her dad.
This movie is about anthropomorphic mice, talking dolphins, an Octopus holding the Titanic together, and whales rescuing everyone onboard. I think the writers put the female lead’s daddy issue logic alongside the historical accuracy

I've made an observation: on the lifeboats, they're labeled as the SS Titanic. The real Titanic was the RMS Titanic, RMS standing for Royal Mail Service, cause it was actually a mail ship that happened to be tailored to transporting people as well. So, they didn't even get the ship's name right! (Thanks to Tasting History's series on the Titanic and the meals they served to everyone on board)
S.S stands for Screw Steamer, which Titanic was. So, it's not entirely inaccurate, as both are technically true. And the lifeboats did have S.S Titanic written on them, as they were made before the ship's title was changed to RMS. I am FLOORED they actually got this one right, when they got pretty much everything else wrong lol

I love how when Tentacles goes down with the ship they literally took a picture of the wreck as it was after 80 years under the Atlantic and just added wonky smokestacks. You know, because the biggest, most unsinkable ship in the world uses cheap steel that instantly starts decaying the second it comes in contact with water.
Not to mention the two halves of Titanic (in real life) are really far apart from each other! 2,000 feet apart to be exact.

I think I can justify a bit why Elizabeth's father changed his tune about her refusal to marry Maltravers the second time she said it:
If living with my parents has taught me anything, it's that parents are more willing to listen to their children when they express what's bothering them calmly. The first time, Elizabeth was putting down Maltravers and could have come off to her father as whiny and back-talking him, but when she tried again, he was more willing to compromise since she was being more respectful and calm about it.
As for why the stepmother didn't just dump the father and marry Maltravers herself, the father's the one with the authority over the area Maltravers wanted to hunt whales in, so marrying the stepmother wouldn't have gotten him what he wanted.
This film genuinely disgusts me. People should be ashamed.
