- In this movie we learn two very important lessons. 1) Holding hands = true love, and 2)Rapping dogs existed in 1912.

Fun Fact: The rapping dog's song was originally about him telling the animals that he was in charge of them and how they behaved on the boat. But apparently whoever dubbed this film in this version decided to make it a random song about it being "party time."
Didn't fit at all
@@thelearningmethodmight I say it resulted in a 👄🐊 moment?
Makes sense. Americans love to make nonsensical dubs for a lot of things, like anime.
Then why is he animated in generic hip hop fashion with a boombox?
@@inkheart151 there was no making sense of this either way, my friend.
Never thought there'd be a Titanic movie where the iceberg is the protagonist.
All praise the iceberg for ending the movie
Thank God for the ice Berg at the end of this movie
Everyone should marry the iceberg.
...And the villains win.
And when I say villains, I say every single characther of this... thing.
Or at least the hero of the story
Cinderella, the evil step-sisters, Abigail and Amelia, Horace and Jasper, Cruella Deville, Lady as a male dog, Mrs. Potts and Chip, Pongo and Perdy, Belle and the Beast in human form, Scat Cat, and a happily ever after. This movie should've been called "Disney Product Placement".
Less 'product placement', more 'blatant theft'.
I mean Angelica looks like Anastasia.
if you say that, just see that jontron episode.
it's more theft than placement
More like Disney, Don Bluth and Looney Tunes product placement. The mouse family looks like the one from An American Tail minus the daughters, the magpie looks like the crow from Secret of Nimh, the nanny looks like Granny and the Mexican mice look like Speedy Gonzales.
how about the 101 Dalmatians? seriously?
And the scary part is that the rapping dog has done of the best voice acting in the movie.
He was even the villain in the 2nd titanic movie
The raping dog...rapping is a very offensive word
That's sad
He also did voice work in the Fist of The North Star anime movie. The one that came out in 1990.
@Zach Kimber does he have a name?
As a 40 + year TITANIC historian, I can tell you factually that any movie about TITANIC that doesn't include a rapping dog should be dismissed as inaccurate.
P.S. I am not taking as many meds. as I used to.
We can tell man we can tell
Is it odd that I appreciate what this was trying to do? Kids should be taught about the titanic and yeah it should be done in a gentle way. We do that with a lot of things. Look at Pocahontas. Yeah, it’s fictional, but it’s a child’s introduction to the real legend or real event. And if they showed kids what the 1997 version did, they would have been traumatized. And kids aren’t ready to know the more gruesome details of America’s beginnings.
Still better than the V-Break theory pushed by that one guy.
@@CearaIvory why? Why would it be necessary to kids to know about the titanic?
I've seen weirdsr rheories making rounds in the Encyclopaedis Titanica circles, so hey.
The rapping dog scene is literally five minutes long. They have about a minute of animation that they just replay a bunch of times, and the song is five freaking minutes long.
Wow now that's fucking lazy.
So...Hannah Babera animation
It's not that long it's only about 2 minutes, but they do reuse the animation a lot
*RAPING
Is it wrong I kinda like the song as an ironically happy music number?
1. Unnecessary mouse plot
2. Evil step mother
3. Three evil step sisters
Why do I get the feeling that someone in Italy decided to ship (no pun intended) Cinderella and Titanic?
thats exactly what happened
Cinderlla titanic and 101 dalmations
They were high and that's all you need to know
are you sure ?
Albino Kiwi It's not just Cinderella, this movie ripped off almost all Disney characters and even Granny from Looney Tunes and mash them all up with Titanic

@@MrAranton But here, he's referring some random dude from Italy thinks his version of the Titanic story is superior.
Yes... this floor is made of floor
The first I heard of this movie was Jontron's review. That rapping dog scene was so out of place and its animation style was so different from the rest of the movie that the first time I watched Jon's video I was convinced that that scene was something Jon's crew had thrown together and added in as a joke.
I saw Jon's video first too.
Raged Conch x I wish he was that good!
I wish it were a joke
JonTron brought me here.
Actually, the rapping wasn't even in the original Italian version. It was added in the English dub for some god forsaken reason
My theory on this movie. The rapping dog is a time traveler who was sent to prevent the sinking of the Titanic. But he was too focused on party time and the ship sank anyway.
LOL, if it was Pinkie Pie singing a typical song (not rap) about parties, the movie MIGHT be better. MIGHT. I would watch that... who else???
@@thelearningmethod No thanks I don't have a neckbeard.

It all suddenly makes sense 😂
@@thelearningmethod Sorry, I'm not brony scum. Not interested. That's even worse.
It's really surprising how these animated Titanic movies never got that much popularity before Nostalgia Critic reviewed them. And now, everybody is reviewing these movies.
+Drew Sanderson Gimme your ring.
Like NC said, some people, like me, wish those movies NEVER existed!!!
It's really surprising how the writers have a rapping dog from the hood in a movie that takes place in 1912 and didn't see anything wrong with that.
JakeSnakeAwesome97 because there was still people wondering if it existed
Double Toasted did as well. The entire trilogy. 😂
Who heard "We are making a movie about the tragedy of the Titanic. Who wants to try out as the rapping dog?" and thought that it was a good idea?
Good question. Did NO ONE mention the idea that Rap Music didn't even exist in 1912.
GOOD ONE!!!!
The VA was most likely either under contract, or they didn't care about the quality and just wanted money.
@@bored_person I'm just imagining that the producers didn't even tell the guy what film it was. Just imagine if he had a kid who saw this and put it on with him and he sees his song. XD
Probably someone who REALLY needed the money... just to buy a packet of cigarettes or drugs so they can forget they were ever a voice actor of this Devil-spawned movie.
Actually, the third class passengers being locked below decks is a myth. The classes were divided by knee high gates that people could easily step over. In the first minutes of the sinking, some of the crew didn't know what was going on, so tried to block the third class passengers from leaving, but they stopped once they realized the ship was sinking. One of the biggest reasons so few of the third class passengers survived is that many didn't speak English, so they didn't understand the instructions and also that the ship was so large that many got lost trying to find the deck.
Thank you! I'm glad 2 see someone else is aware of this fact!
What about the watertight doors on those decks? From what I could tell from the Titanic H&G simulator there were some on those decks. By closing those most of the 3rd class passengers would not have been able to get to the 3rd class staircase at the back of the ship. Of course there are other ways to get up such as the 1st and 2nd class stairways, but the access points to those were unknown to them.
I believe the inability of third-class passengers to escape due to not speaking English was referenced in James Cameron’s titanic when Jack and Rose pass a middle-eastern/Southern European family consulting a guidebook for a sign.
Yeah, but the talking animals is very accurate.
@@Leghend I'm not saying that this movie is more accurate than the James Cameron one, to say so would be insanity.
My cousin dared me to watch this movie when we were kids. I couldn't even make it past the first five minutes without turning the damn thing off.
+Luna Deafenhine (Moonbeam) I was paid $15 to watch this movie I should have gotten $50 or more
I turned it off after 10 seconds
I don't know how I made it through this review
What's really pathetic is this is actually the best (or least bad) animated Titanic movie.
I’m so sure that really happened. Because people often judge movies by the first five minutes.

This movie should be titled Cinderella, Fievel: An American Tail, 101 Dalmatians, Flipper and Speedy Gonzalez survive The Titanic.
With all the mice in there, they probably ripped off the Rescuers somewhere, too.
It’s the end of civilization as we know it!
@@Danny-tf3fd The German-ish mouse family actually rips off Feivel, and the Mexican mice are Speedy Gonzalez.
Add to that Amanda and Abigail from Aristocats (the geese), Balto (the rapping dog), Lady and the Tramp (the dog with the cool voice) and Anastasia (the design of Angelica).
So effectively... The first fanfiction adapted to screen?
Is it just me or does the main female look like a badly animated Anastasia from Anastasia.

Nope, I agree. What the fuck.
According to psychology tears beginning from the left eye are caused by sadness. Tears beginning from the right eye are caused by joy. With that said, the Dalmatians weren't sad, they were sadistic.
Angelica had the tears going on the left hugging her mother so I guess she is messed up too.

Well, one thing this animated Titanic movie has over the other one, at least most of the characters have English accents.
Yeah
"English accents" (They're so fake, I should use TWO rows of air quotes, but that's grammatically incorrect!)

Well Jacks character was an actual American. Rose has no excuse.
@Jack Murphy Actually the Rose and Cal characters were American too. So Kate Winslet and Billy Zane had to do American accents too, even though their British.

Disney, Don Bluth, and James Cameron should have sued whoever made this crap.
Nobody saw it so what's to sue? Somebody made this really cheap using slave animators and it was probably distributed by some really shady film company owned by the Italian mafia using alter ego producers and directors. They cashed on really stupid parents thinkig they purchased an animated Titanic movie for their kids and cashed in on whatever little they earned. Quick money from suckers.
HorseriderXX Devon Trademark infringement is what I meant. It doesn't matter who saw it, this company used the intellectual properties of three different companies (Disney, Don Bluth, and James Cameron). People have been sued for much less than that.
who cares.. why would you cause those italian farts over in italy more pain... when they realized titanic actually happened i´m sure they felt shitty enough. cause clearly they must have believed it was just a story
Raptor moe actually Camilo Teti was sued... and never heard from again.
The Gaming Knight oh.. well then... haha my bad
I just noticed (around 15:40-15:45): is it me, or is William's foot tangled in some rope as the Titanic sink ? If so, there's NO WAY IN HELL he should have survived. He should have gone straight to the bottom of the ocean with the ship - unless he has superstrength that allows him to keep floating in spite of having like a third of an ocean liner tied to his foot...
You know there's something you should know, so I'm gonna tell you so.
Don't sweat it, forget it.
enjoy the show.
French Paul 1988 There is a power capable of facing such adversities and bring that superstrength to the main character: "Plot Convenience"

I don't get how the sinking of Titanic is romantic
I think its just that people tend to relate more to individual people they get to know and identify with as a result, even if they acknowledge that a tragedy is....tragic (sorry for my vocabulary), it just doesn't make as terrible an impact.
U mean the 1998 Titanic?
Tom Friel Why? James Cameron thought the actual sinking wasn't dramatic enough so invented two fictional couple as the main protagonist. THAT is offensive on its own.
Christine Fury well you still need a story to follow or else its just a documentery.
Isn't mass death due to an uncaring corporation romantic?
I love that he doesn’t mention that the fact they wasted space on the life boats for the animals

I just love when critic started dancing to the Mexican song at 12:27
Is ironic that a movie about a shipwreck is a train wreck
*Historical Inaccuracies*
Reginald Lee did not have a beard like that. Or any facial hair for that matter.
The crew used pumps, not buckets.
Ah, yes, the dreaded Bostwick gates. There were only two of these on the Titanic, and one flooded shortly after the collision.
The ship's power cuts out WAY too early on.
If you pay attention to when the ship begins to split up, there's still lifeboats, though all boats were gone by now.
Only about three lifeboats picked up people from the water: Lifeboats 4, 14, and collapsible lifeboat D. However they didn't do so *this* early.
They weren’t trying to drain the water - they were putting out the boiler fires, which IS something the engineers did when the compartment started flooding. So, yes, that scene in particular IS historically accurate (Though poorly animated).
It seems that you're comment is a tad short, I was expecting a waaaaaaaay longer list of inaccuracies.

"Anastasia" means "reborn", Angelica means... well, "angelic". But you're right about everything else.
There’s actually two versions of this movie. Mr. Walker is reviewing the abridged version. The abridged version has better music, but the unabridged version did everything else a little better, LITTLE being the key word in that sentence.

It's always fun to go back and watch a review you've not seen in like a decade. I don't think I've seen this one since like '11-'12. Maybe earlier?
@@UnknownName5050 Good for you. I started watching around his Sonic review back in '09, almost 13 years ago. It's weird when you're getting nostalgic for the time you started being nostalgic for your childhood.
Apparently Hitler makes a cameo as a crew member in the launch scene
Oops.
boyblogtv where the fuck...

Things like this and fascism make me ashamed to be italian
At least you have some damn fine cuisine.
LordVader1094 Mamma Mia!!!
LordVader1094 Which is actually just Chinese food with tomatoes and olives.
Ryoushadow
you are funny.
Ryoushadow Well, as a Chinese, I admit I actually really love Italian food. Mostly because in Chinese cuisine we usually (almost never) use cheese. I just happen to love cheese (and tomatoes, oregano and olives) a lot, so I really enjoy Italian good. :p
I still can't believe that the guy who voiced the villain in the other Animated Titanic Movie also voiced the Rapping Dog in this movie.
I can’t believe that there are two animated Titanic movies
@@matityaloran9157 There's actually three. The 3rd one is a sequel to the one where everyone survived the Titanic.
@@OmnicidalClown1992 Yeah. I forgot about that.
@@OmnicidalClown1992 Okay, so having finally watched the Nostalgia Critic’s video on the third one, it seems that its connection to the Titanic is largely tangential so I think it’s fairer to say that there are two animated children’s musicals about the Titanic
The first time I heard of this film was through a UA-cam Poop series called the Link and King Show. It is based on the Zelda CD-i characters and is one of the greatest YTP series ever made. Apparently the creator of this series has been watching Nostalgia Critic, since two episodes of the series mentioned both of these animated Titanic movies.
My first reaction was "Really? An animated Titanic movie? And not only one but two? They must have been really bad since I haven't even heard of them before". Now I know the reason.
Titanic in 1997 was a majestic masterpiece of it's time.
Some or another....this animated movie and it's animation...
SPOLIER ALERT:
Sunk it's production during the storytelling just sink it, too.
SUNK: THE AMAZING ADVENTURE: Where Characters Died.
Sounds promising, huh?
Fun fact: this animated Titanic movie? The one Critic reviewed was actually an edited, dubbed version of the original. Heck, the one he's reviewing is 58 minutes, 70 if you count the 12 minutes of credits and deleted scenes. It's still awful because there were so many infamous changes, the rapping dog especially (turns out his name is Fritz. And the rapping was also in the original, but the song was called Viva Fritz!). So many scenes were drastically cut, re-edited, removed, re-used, or placed before other scenes. Hell, the original doesn't even start with a flashback. That was the edited dubbed. There's an uncut one too and it's 82 minutes, and more than likely pays its respects to the original. And the whole reason ALL of this was edited? It was to appeal more to children, hence the "happily ever after" line
