How to fix repair and replace a Mercedes Benz ML320 ML350 ML430 ML500 W163 Window Regulator Motor

If you have a window that does not go up or down or the window goes up and down crooked you may have a bad window regulator or bad motor. In this video I show you how to replace the window regulator on the front passenger side of the car. This is pretty much the same for both side and the rear doors with minor differences. I hope this helps you fix your window!

I drilled out the bad welds and mig-welded the regulator, saves a lot of money, the new regulator would have the same weak spot-welds…

Hello Joe great video as a female I always try to fix things myself which some can be overwhelming but you explained how to fix the window in a easy way to understand thank you for that . You seem to know these cars really well. Neither of my front windows work but I can hear something click when I hit the front window buttons. Both my rear windows work fine. What are the chances my front window motors are dead?

It’s highly unlikely, have you ever replaced the switch assembly? The buttons commonly go bad. You can pull the door panel and unplug the motor and test to see if you are getting power at the plug when you hit the switch.

Erst große Frage, wie? Kein Plan! Dann dieses super Video, alles klar. Das aus - und einbauen ein Kinderspiel.
Bei mir waren die Scheißpunkte zwischen den Teilen abgebrochen. Mexikanischer Trödel. Schweißpunkte ausgebohrt, M4 Gewinde rein, 3 Stk Schrauben
M4 x 6 rein, alles zusammen und alles GUT!!!!! Noch ein bisschen Fett und weiter geht's. Fenster geht wieder zu.

So if I wanted to test and see if my window switch was bad or my motor I can just use a meter at the connector for the motor and hit the switch. If I have voltage then the switch is good but motor is bad. and if there is no voltage once the switch is pressed then the switch is bad?

Yes correct, one exception would be if the doorside electrical plug connector is corroded sometimes that prevents the electricity from coming through into the door.

@@tomsheffield9673 ....in my situation the whole regulator broke from the rivets since the arm at the bottom attached to the plastic slider had broke in half. That in turn kinked the motor electrical connector and was just enough for it to not make contact. Thanks to your video i replaced regulator and all is good now. I bought regulator from Amazon for $32
