The Czechs have a long and 'intimate' history with patés though, so I wouldn't be surprised if he really did mean it with this one ^^
@@paulmares9815 Whole central Europe has a fetish for this stuff. The Germans also do love their Paté, but it's kinda on par or pushed behind by the rural "Mettwurst" which is basically treated ground beef often seasoned with Paprika etc.

Czech food can be nice tbh. We invented Fried Cheese, also we have a specific style of dumplings called Knedlíky. It's a shame they put the most normie czech foods in the MRE, because if you travel to Czech Republic, you'll certainly find something, that suits your pallet.

I served in the Czech army for 3 years, the first menu is one of the best, we got in pretty rarely. For me the best part usually was lunchmeat and chocolate.

How often did any of the soft-canned components burst? I'm always amazed that other countries don't just exclusively use retort pouches for everything.

The soft metal packages are very popular in Poland, and apparently in other slavic countries too. Very common to find patte, minced meat etc in stores that's packed in them :)

it indeed is. some black pepper too, probably, but paprika is essential to this dish.
Jeff Lebowski it is paprika for sure, keep in mind Slavic kitchen and agriculture know a couple of hundred types of paprika, the taste can vary from close to chili or pepper to sweet bellpepper...
I grew up I Gus's with American goulash hamburger diced tomatoes tomato sauce onion macaroni noodles kidney bean and seasoning pepper salt onion salt diced onions I don't know whatever and if you want add cheese shredded. but I was also told goulash is stuff thown together in a pot mostly from the previous few supers.

The Czechs are famous for insisting on cheese with liver. My grampa and great grandma were both full blooded Czechs. Every family gathering there was always liver, but nobody would touch it without cheese. As one of the grandkids I never got into the "REALLY" Czech foods at our family gatherings, but I was always told it was the "traditional" food lol.
Wow that's odd, I was born and grew up in Czech and I have never heard of anyone combining liver with cheese until I stumbled to this video :-D What part of Czech were your grandparents from? Might be some region custom and I am definitely interest. :-)

IamIUareU mres every keep the crazy away I eat them once a day I buy a whole 12 pack every two weeks so I mainly eat them as a staple of my diet, plus there not that expensive for 70.00 for 12 is not a bad price if you're on a tight budget
You can get food worth the 12 MRE's with way less, if you're going with a tight budget.
Czech guy here: BDP like the one here costs exactly same (not so easy to find, though, and often seriously overpriced). Single MRE here costs 9-10 dollars.
