Man, Im czech, we are polands neighbours, but polish sausages are legendary even around here. They make the ultimate best sausages in the world. That beans and sausage actually looks EXACTLY like the ones I got at Lidls few weeks ago and I ate the whole lot at home even with fridge full of fresh food, tastes better than what I can cook, im going soon for more.
Friend of mine on the Canadian army says they love going to Poland for exercises because they get along great with the "friendly" Polish soldiers and the "awesome food".
Yea i heard stories how US soldiers was annoying Polish soldiers in Iraq because before any multinational missions they were comming to Polish baracks and woking up people crazy early just to have an excuse for eating breakfast with them in Polish canteen... :P
In my experience, Polish food tends to be simple, yet hearty and delicious. I can't say that I'm surprised to see that their MRE's retain similar qualities.

Panzerwaffles are made that way so that they keep for years. They really do. I think 20 years or more without getting stale if kept dry. (Also nobody sane wants to try them before without rehydrating them. The steam off from FRH is excellent for that purpose.) If kept under nitrogen or in vacuum, these don't go stale forever because they're baked multiple times and unbleached flour.
I'm impressed. I'm from Poland and I understand all inscriptions in this ration and you described them correctly. You are one of the best MRE reviewers I ever seen (I say this sincerely).
Fasolka po bretońsku is a polish comfort food. Its a dish from white beans + kiełbasa śląska + tomatoes + bacon (not always). Smoky flavour is from kiełbasa, they are always heavy smoked.
There's something really cool about your videos. I mean I've never been really interested in rations or anything, but when someone talks about something they care about like this, it really grips you. The content doesn't have to be all that perfect or surprising or funny, it's enough that a person who really likes some stuff wants to show it to you and talk about it. I hope you never lose your passion!
This review is sooo tasty ! :) In the 24h Polish ration there is a crisp bread that will not break your teeth, fortunately. The panzerwaffels are better to break and eat in pieces. But it's true - this ration is really tasty - you have the main with smoky taste coming from sausage and bacon (yes, we buy this stuff everyday in shops here :) ) - I cannot stop eating it either ! And the blackcurrant is the most beloved taste for me. All the fruit teas are better warm/hot.

Merry Christmas, Steve! I asked my parents for a case of MREs back when I started watching you religiously. And on this Christmas, I finally got a case of MREs, the first MRE I ever had was a Menu 9, Beef Stew from this case. It was definitely wonderful. It's fasolka po bretońsku - Polish interpretation of French dish called haricots à la bretonne. In France it's just a side dish. Polish version contains sausage, what makes it a whole meal.
Love the size of the heating element in the heater. Really enjoy seeing the foreign meals. I feel like our troops get shortchanged compared to some other countries rations. TY for sharing
Normaly army is preparing that in field kitchen and there is fresh still warm Polish white bread with it. And civilians when you give them one portion you can bet they will gonna come back to field kitchen and be asking can they have one more, its just so good in this combination with fresh bread, without fresh bread you losing a loot of the real taste of that dish.

In planning out my bucket list of what countries I wish to food tour - I was thinking along the lines of Spain, France, and Italy. But, now, I'm thinking Poland is an unsung food hero. I've got to try that piping hot beans stewed with meat and tomato sauce. That looks SO danged good!
I'm From Hungary. I have watch both the polish and hungarian MRE-s. i have to say, polish are way better....less, canned food, better heater.. more modern! as good as the mre-s from the US. That main course was very nice looking indeed!

Steve1989 MREinfo - SO STEVE!! Just what is the hook for? Hanging the enemy from a tree to butcher them and have some real meat? I would suggest starting with the back strap, then consume the loin followed by the chuck/chest region incorporating the bone for a favorable result from roasting/bbq. W/O, or in lieu of BBQ sauce, I would turn to basting said meat in blood infused with well ground pine needles and some pitch, sage if you have it... ENJOY!!

I used them on number of occasions on my quasi-survival trips with my friends, because I got them from my father (who is an active Polish Army soldier). They are awesome, as well as bigger S-6 ones. Props for the video.
Here in South Africa a company that makes powdered fruit juice recently started making powdered iced tea - and it's _damn' nice_ . And one of the flavours is Berry.

Another great Polish ration, panzer waffles aside. They seem to have a great variety as well, each Polish ration has a different main course. Delicious should be proud.
"panzer waffles" typicaly are left allone for some emergency situation and military "fasolka po bretońsku" should be eated with fresh still warm Polish white bread. And if you try it like that i can guarantee you that you will gonna come back to field kitchen and ask "can i pls have some more?". :P

Here in South Africa a company that makes powdered fruit juice recently started making powdered iced tea - and it's _damn' nice_ . And one of the flavours is Berry.

Another great Polish ration, panzer waffles aside. They seem to have a great variety as well, each Polish ration has a different main course. Delicious should be proud.
"panzer waffles" typicaly are left allone for some emergency situation and military "fasolka po bretońsku" should be eated with fresh still warm Polish white bread. And if you try it like that i can guarantee you that you will gonna come back to field kitchen and ask "can i pls have some more?". :P
