  • video of me testing out the ats chemical 505 crf fuel cleaner
You can buy the fuel treatment here- amzn.to/49pkBof
please like and subscribe if you find the video helpful! I am trying to grow the channel!
my local dealership keeps telling me they want to carbon clean my engine and they are asking around 350$, In the video you can see there is some carbon on top of my piston heads but I wouldn't say it is anything unusual, most 11 year old engines will have some amount of carbon on the piston heads. In fact, if the piston heads are completely clean that would be suspicious for a head gasket leak as the water from your coolant would be boiling in the combustion chamber and cleaning the carbon.
I apologize as the footage of the combustion chambers isn't the best as I am using a very cheap camera (boroscope). However, I think it gives you a descent idea of how much carbon is there before and after.
    Results
I didn't notice a huge change in the amount of carbon cleaned on the piston heads, however the car does feel more responsive and the cold start up noise has gone away. I am not sure if carbon on top of the piston heads is the best measurement of how well this product works
The only other channel I have seen talk about the ATS Chemical 505 CRF Fuel and Oil Cleaner products is the Scotty Kilmer Channel and I have found him to be a very reliable source for automotice knowledge so I figured I would check this product out
I will be doing a review of the oil cleaner in the future so subscribe to make sure you dont miss out on the video
about the ats fuel cleaner from their website
An advanced pour-in fuel treatment that enhances gasoline to remove carbon deposits from the internal combustion engine and engine components. This chemical mixture is proven to remove carbon from; fuel injectors, induction ports, induction valves, and combustion chambers. Carbon deposits on the injectors can cause drivability problems and poor fuel mileage. This advanced formula can clean coking from the port style injector and the direct style injector; increasing engine performance and fuel economy.

This is why I change my oil every 3 months 3000 miles and I drive a 2004 Buick park Avenue with the Buick 3800 3.8L Supercharged V-6 and its super clean on the inside never needed to due this as my car was serviced by the previous owner of 17 years he did it every 3 months 2000 miles 5 to six times a year. The elderly man took religiously good care of the car . I have all receipts he even changed the antifreeze and trans fluid every 25k to 30k mile intervals or every 3 years. The car is 19 years old with 144,915 miles. Fluids and oils are cheap engines and major engine repairs are expensive. Just change your oil every 3000 miles.

I replaced a valve cover gasket on my 2006 Honda Accord (2.4L) 3000 miles ago at 205k (+/-). Visually checked top of pistons and saw minimal build up of any kind. Maybe a bit of speckling, very clean. It was mainly due to a spark plug tube leak which was addressed immediately, the same day a misfire code was given.
Beneath the valve cover, it was clean as could be. No caked on film of any kind. If you wipe with a rag, you get pure, clean shiny metal. Very impressive. This was due to never neglecting oil change intervals, and lots of highway driving on top of that. Changed plugs as well. They were not fouled up, however it was evident while the misfire occured as the one plug had oil residue on it. I cannot stress enuugh to people to not neglect your oil changes!
I just did the same job on a 2001 Corolla (1.8L) with only (129k miles) that had all the same problems except the check engine light was on for months before the problem was addressed. It was also evident that the oil was not changed frequently enough. It was also driven much less frequently, also hardly any highway driving. The oil should have been changed before recommended intervals. In this case time was a factor before mileage was the reason to change the oil. Beneath the valve cover showed a golden and light brown glaze of old oil. Prep and clean up for the new gasket took a very long time. Changed the plugs(All which had, wet, oily threads and were severely fouled with carbon build up and an oil crust), valve cover gasket and fuel injectors.
For the Toyota, I am willing to put a fuell additive to gently clean the inside of the combustion chambers a bit. But a bit weary to put an additive in the oil for over the head, because of what I saw. However I have seen much worse and there were no signs of serioud sludge build-up. But in mu opinion any sludge is scary and a sign of neglect. But the check engine light immediately came off on its own after it was serviced, and the car ran better than it had in a long time.
I have added solvents to the oil in the Honda about two times in 50k miles and would only do it 150-200 miles prior to an oil change. I don't know if this helped. But driving at highway speeds for 30-45 mins at least once a week is very good for any vehicle at minmum once a week. Especially if a majority of your driving is done in the city. Another alternative is to run an entire tank of premium gasoline every other time or 1 out of 3 times you fill up (if mostly city driving). Otherwise you should consider at least adding an oil and fuel additive before fill up on empty or a a couple hundred miles before an oil change. Just dont overdue the additives. There is a formula to apply with all of this stuff honestly. It all depends on how well you keep up on preventative maintanence and how often you drive and what type of driving you do (city/highway). I honestly cannot stress paying attention to these enough. It will save you so much hassle in the long-run and keep your car running wonderfully. You shouldnt look at how many miles your car has vs a car that has fewer miles that is driven less and neglected. They are meant to be driven. Cars will rapidly develop issues if they aren't driven at all and sit for months at a time.
The most problematic vehicle I ever bought was only $400, eas clean looking, but an older vehicle, but had less than 50k miles on it. It sat around all the time waiting to be driven when the owner visited in winter time. All fuids start to breal down and seperate, leaks occur, things started to fail.
Drive and maintain, repeat. Drive less, maintain even more, repeat.

I used the ATS chemical 505 cro oil system treatment in my 2014 Hyundai sonata 2.4L. As you know these cars are notorious for burning oil out the exhaust in the form of blue smoke. Since I did the treatment and changed my oil, my car went from 23-24 mpg to 28 mpg. I am now 800 miles into the fresh full synthetic oil change since the oil system treatment. I check the oil dipstick constantly. It has been 800 miles of driving and I have burnt no oil. I still have the same level on the dipstick, a smidge over the F dot on the dipstick. Before the oil system treatment, I was consuming at least a quart by this point, now I' am consuming no oil. I also experimented on my 2010 Hyundai accent gs with 176000 miles on it. It has burnt oil ever since I can remember, to the point where I had to add a few quarts between oil changes. I added 4 oz of marvel mystery oil to the crankcase and drove it for 200 miles and then changed the oil and filter. I have now clocked 700 miles since the oil change and the dipstick shows that it's still a bit above the F dot on the dipstick as well. I hope this information can help other people.

THANKS for the honest review! Looks to me like that additive that costs $60, did little more than if you dumped in a bottle of Techroline. The main difference is the Chevron product costs $10. Also IF you didn't feel like the first time adding it to the gas actually achieved anything, you could just try it a couple more times to give the cleaner more time to work however well it is going to. But at $60 per nobody in their right mind is doing that with the 505 product. Also the ATS people give no option to just buy either the fuel cleaner or the oil cleaner, you have to buy both of them. Think I'll stick to techroline and do the frequent oil changes really

    • @robertmaybeth3434
      @robertmaybeth3434 10 місяців тому +3

@@abdullahal-shimri3091 Well that's one approach - Honestly I feel obliged to warn you against leaving any kind of solvent product like Sea foam in your oil for long. In fuel yes, Sea foam probably helps clean the engine a bit and I add similar products all the time. But from bitter experience of 40 years in automotive work, I don't add Sea foam to the oil and then run the engine, unless I was changing the oil afterwards. Seafoam has no lubricating properties, after all, and will do no good for the rings, camshaft, or bearings as a result. The only product I feel comfortable flushing my engine with is doing a couple of oil changes and short interval, with the cheapest engine oil I can find.
If an engine were so sludged up inside that running a solvent was needed, I'd want to at least drop the oil pan and valve covers and clean off whatever I found inside. Then put it all back together and do several oil changes within 100 miles, then reduce my oil change interval from then on.

IMHO, as long as you are using Top Tier gasoline (Arco, Chevron, Shell, Costco, Exxon, Phillips 66, Texaco, Mobil, etc.) instead of the cheap stuff from Corner Bob, you'll be fine. You won't need those additives and other snake oil products.
Top Tier fuel is recommended by: Audi, BMW, GM, FCA, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Navistar, VW and Detroit Diesel. Those vehicle manufacturers write and enforce the Top Tier standards.
Full disclosure: My four year old VW has been on a steady diet of Shell with no issues.

@@redskinman0 George, I just got off the phone with ATS CHEMICALS, which is the parent company in Alburquerque. It is the distributor, that uses ATS logo, that is the non-responsive and lousy company. ATS itself just found out about all these complaints and is sending out orders from their manufacturing plant. He apologized profusely and said they were considering dropping the distributor, considering all the problems they are causing I think it's a great idea. When they find out about customers like us, they send us out the order from their own stock. I was impressed with their concern for their customers and sorry this distributor is causing them so much grief. He said Scotty had the distributor website on his videos, and they have reached out asking him to correct it, but order directly from the ATS chemical site from now on to avoid this problem.
