Too late. The stores security cameras caught that epic meltdown way before that other woman started recording. And you know there were others recording as well. I'm surprised there isn't more footage out there, but at least she have the people reviewing security tapes a good laugh.
From 10:40 onward, it was obvious that the young blonde woman was having a serious mental breakdown and/or a panic attack. It was totally out of order for the African American woman to continue recording her and only aggravating the young woman more. She clearly asked the black woman to stop recording her mental issue, but she continued to do so. I had something similar happen with a coworker one day. My coworker was acting crazy, but our manager told me to stop interacting with the crazy coworker. I later asked my manager why she told me to stop interacting instead of telling the crazy coworker to behave. The manager responded by saying that I was the one who was “Reasonable” and “in control” between me and the coworker. So the manager thought I would be better able to control my side of the interaction.
Tjai85 - Actually, it’s general policy in any store to not allow recording for a few reasons such as security (think casing the joint). It’s not illegal but a store policy is enforceable given that it’s private property. They can ask you to stop and have you removed if you don’t, including getting the police involved for trespassing. Personally, I think that woman has some kind of phobia. Best to just walk away. We don’t know what set that person off. TBH, the woman recording wasn’t looking to stop it or she would have extracted herself from the situation. The person recording was pushing buttons to get a rise out of a person who has some irrational fear. Respect boundaries and walk away. Unless, of course, there was some legitimate initial reason to record her like a threat. The woman recording knew damn well she was escalating a weird situation. Can’t teach common sense.

I later asked my manager why she told me to stop interacting instead of telling the crazy coworker to behave. So the manager thought I would be better able to control my side of the interaction.

It’s not illegal but a store policy is enforceable given that it’s private property. They can ask you to stop and have you removed if you don’t, including getting the police involved for trespassing.
Personally, I think that woman has some kind of phobia. Best to just walk away. We don’t know what set that person off. TBH, the woman recording wasn’t looking to stop it or she would have extracted herself from the situation. The person recording was pushing buttons to get a rise out of a person who has some irrational fear. Respect boundaries and walk away.
