VIDEO INTRODUCTION:
Go Airlines (India) Ltd was granted bankruptcy protection on Wednesday, bolstering the country's fourth-largest carrier's chances of getting back on its feet, but lessors have started mounting legal challenges to repossess planes.
The low-cost carrier recently rebranded as Go First, was plunged into a financial crisis this year, sparked by what it called "faulty" Pratt & Whitney engines that grounded about half its 54 Airbus A320neos.
Hence, if you're looking to understand the entire story behind go first bankruptcy, what happened to go first, why go first flights are getting cancelled and why did Go First go bankrupt, you're at the right video!

Yes do it
Yes do it 🙌
I think Mohak Mangal's channel focuses on history. This one doesn't go that far back.
It varied from time to time. Like during Sindhu saraswati civilization the society was much much more egalitarian as one found more public architecture than royal architecture. Whereas Mughal times have negligible public architecture, just mausoleums and larger than life Graves.
It is largely agreed upon that in the 600-700 AD era, India witnessed large scale de-urbanization and deindustrialisation. Which inturn lead to solidification of caste identities and limited social mobility. This was also when the first wave of Islamic conquests began. If one reads the foreign accounts pre de-urbanization and post de-urbanization, the difference is huge.
I believe that our society in comparison to others of the era was at its zenith during the Sindhu saraswati civilization. After that if not better than us, there were civilizations who were at par.
In Mughal and Turkic times , it has been found by historians that the rulers extracted all wealth from their subjects , especially the Hindus .
However before the invaders , rulers lived life like normal people . That's why great Indian rulers don't have any palaces etc .
Brilliant research and case study by Think School team 🙏. I'm feeling so lucky today, that we are living in such an era where these kind of information and case studies are available on a few clicks for absolutely free. Which previously required college professors and having very good connection from industry expert. This is an unfair advantage to our generation 💪

Go first" literally go first to file for bankruptcy. 😅
On a serious note, Aviation is such a capital intensive sector that not everybody will be able to survive. It will continue to remain oligopoly. Especially when it comes to such price sensitive market as ours.
Also: I observed that this is the first time Ganesh bhai is appearing on Thumbnail 🔥
New editor 🙃🙃
"Price sensitive" is a polite version of cheap.
"easiest way to become a millionaire - become a billionaire and then buy a airline company"
- Charlie Munger
Indigo and akasa spicejet arent run by oligarchs
"Aviation is such a capital intensive sector that not everybody will be able to survive. It will continue to remain oligopoly." - this cannot be reemphasized enough! Absolutely fact!
I like how the case study dissects various parts of the bankruptcy process with facts and easy to understand relatable examples. It’s very useful to intellectually analyze a situation versus emotionally ranting about it
Bankruptcy & NPA means more taxes the middle class has to pay through various charges.
True😢, but its a normal process of capitalism
Bankruptcy and npa
Well, middle class won't exist without a modern banking system, and banks are bound to have some NPAs.
Bt Neo Capitalists love it
Na government with pay for GoFirst
Just pull out your money 😅😢
Very informative & interesting case study
But studying all these topics in our curriculum & facing the examination is so challenging. Working really hard to crack these exams. Thank you bro
This is d benefit IBC,2016 provides,,i.e Insolvency n Bankruptcy Code, 2016. Just yesterday i wrote exam of CA Final. Juzz amazed to learn same through your video!!👏👏👏👏
Hi team,
Have been watching your videos for quite a while now, really liked the ease at which you explain simple topics and share all the sides of the coin with the wider audience.
However, in this specific video, I feel that some more information could be shared on the negative impacts of bankruptcy and what it does for a company in the long run (like less confidence of future promoters/banks etc.). The outlook which an average viewer(like me) might have gotten from the video is that bankruptcy is a masterstroke to hit pause on your liabilities, but in reality this is actually a last resort which a company uses to save itself from liquidation.
Thanks,
KG
Adding some late thoughts - take this as just a constructive feedback from a average subscriber. I know a lot of thought might have gone into deciding whether or not to extend the video and make the concept crisp enough so that people can understand it.
You are better than most of the TV / NEWS channels. The depth at which you study the case & present in layman terms is amazing. Keep up the good work.
The aviation sector & that of India is truly fascinating for many aspects of business!
Thank you Think School for giving us easy access to all these wonderful case studies.
I am a CA final student, CIRP is explained so beautifully here, I wish our professors could make a presentation like that in future

Amazing video again. Thanks for making it so easy to understand . Which in reality is quite complex to understand
My first flight was GoAir back in a 2019. After that I have used their airlines 6-7 times. I can say their airline was one of the best. Cheap price and most of the time on time.
Another great case study by a great think school team.

Love from deep of the heart
This was really an awesome case study 👏🏻
Thank you team Think School for bringing this to us. This video gave me a clear insight as to how to laws works
This sounds so unfair for Banks, Could you please bring a case study for Banks NPA we have seen in past, how are banks still operable (most of it) after such terrible losses.
The primary objective of banks is to lend money and generate profits, not to offer charity or interest-free loans. Therefore, if a bank's lending decisions result in losses, it is reasonable for the bank to suffer the consequences. When banks take the risk of lending to high-risk businesses like airlines, they do so with the expectation of earning a high return on investment. Thus, if things go wrong and the investment does not perform well, the bank's interests in such a business dictate that it bears the loss as part of its normal business operations.
Main goal of the society is to promote enterprise and innovation not to promote license raj banks.
Maybe u need to check when things go right how much a bank earns (for April-Dec,FY23 psu banks earning was 70,167cr after writing off the NPAs)
Hey, wasn't expecting kind people to educate me here, Thanks :)
While Bankruptcy is survival strategy for GoFirst, its very bad for banks who gave them loans, ultimately not good for tax payers.
You are looking it in a very wrong way.
Better and open bankruptcy policy allows businessmen to take risk. Business not always succeed but that should not be seen scornful way. This is the very reason entrepreneurs aren't able to take risks.
Before declaring bankruptcy managements pillage the money taken from the lenders and salt it away, mostly overseas. While small business owners have to pledge immovable assets usually worth 5/10 times the amount of loan. Less than 1% wilful defaulters face the discordant music of law. Ugly face of Indian corporate borrowers.
@@sunilkumargarg9676 you are hyphenating few and generalising it to many. Bankruptcy is just like a process where a student or any employee failed in the subject or the job for which they have to restart again. If this process isn’t accepted openly and despised then surely India is never gonna produce daring-entrepreneur. That’s why US and western countries have so many opportunities & people move their to start businesses.
Failure is a part of process. Should not be looked in shunned manner.
@@kumargourav6791 In uberrich Germany 🇩🇪 heard of bankrupt bank borrowers throwing themselves in front of trains. Do you know anyone from India?? Quiet a few of the sort from India took overseas flights. Jet Air guy was stopped from boarding a plane. Here, Wadia’s are rich. They got stakes in so many companies that they can sell to payoff the Banks. Going bankrupt is a ploy to save assets. Is there any shame left. As Raghuram Rajan put it in 2014 about Bank NPAs- Riskless Capitalism( an Indian Speciality). Why gamble Bank’s money? Why not put your own money.
@@sunilkumargarg9676 You speak like a child. Go and learn capitalism job seeker. First learn to start a business & then complain.
Few rotten apples don't define the whole bunch & businesses do fail as many other things in life. If proper salvage mechanism is not their then the opportunity for others won't be there. This despising of businessmen & also knocking on their door for job doesn't sound like hypocrisy.
The research and clear explanation of content is amazing! Please make a video on how the IBC law works with all the other aspects.
