Thanks for making the video, it helped me alot getting my seal out on my rzr 900! You said you fired it up, were you able to do that without the clutch in place? I was unsure if that was safe for the engine, if the clutch acted like a flywheel or whatever, but i definately want to run it to confirm 100% the new seal isnt leaking before i put it all back together.
Question good video, I think I'm going to have to do it my 2020 XP turbo. Do you think you could screw into the seal and use a slide hammer to pull it? Is the back of the stock seal metal? Is the lip on the back metal? If not it should collapse with some force pulling it out. That way there is no beating around the crank of seal surface.
I believe the back around the crank is metal. You should be able to use a screw and slide hammer. I did not have one at the time of doing it. Just be very careful takes a little time but you can get it.
I’m curious if you had any leaks after siliconing that protective cover. I did a snorkel kit on my 23 General and siliconed the back of the clutch housing where that foam seal goes and was told silicone seeping into the crank seal caused the leak.
Good Video but there is a lot better way to do it. Take two wood screws and screw them in. One on both sides of the seal. You should be able to take a pair of pliers and pull the seal out. If not put a piece of wood on the crank for prying. Wrap two wires around the screw and then around the wood and pry out the seal.
Not gonna happen. The lip of the back of the seal is in a groove in the block. That's why you're supposed to split the block. It don't just pop out like your basic tap in seal
I did that seal replacement to my 2013 900rzr. After paying $162 por that expensive seal plus $200 of labor it only lasts a couple of months before it started leaking again. But now when worst! The spinning belt ate the primary clutch plates and belt broke in pieces. All in the middle of a highway at 1am! 🥺 Now, I have to buy a new primary clutch, a new belt and still waiting a free space of time of my mechanic to do what it supposed to do from beginning...install the correct internal seal ($10 +$500 labor fee) This happened in September 2023.
I had my 19 t s velocity loose power temp went all sudden and shut off lost motor oild had new clutch installed and knocking coming from that exact area. Are those symptoms and sound when seal goes out?
In all fairness I put a belt motor in that machine two or three months later but overall I think it’s a nice seal and it does it’s job Thanks for watching
Thanks! We are always out at silverlake michigan on the busier weekends. Following us on social media is your best bet for knowing where we are heading next. Thanks for watching!
I ended up putting two flat head screw drivers, and putting one against the case and one against the crank. Pinching the seal and pulling it out from behind the case.
I just rebuilt my motor & put New comitec seals with a bigger lip but when i was assembling i put Too Much Rtv sealer behind the inner clutch cover & it squished into they crank seal causing it to leak! I wasnt gonna split the case if i didnt have too! In been a Total Bitch & i was an master Tech by Trade its been the Hardest seal ive ever had to replace ! But im sure the stock seal wouldn't have been half as Hard!
Tkns for the help!!!
No problem, thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the vid, I'll be doing this repair this week.
Sounds good, let us know how it turns out! Thanks for watching!

@@utvoutlaws6652 hello guys
Just wondering what brand is that seal? Because I know original comes with lip or flange
Warranty killer performance seal
@@utvoutlaws6652 thanks a lot for your prompt respond

Thanks for the tip. We'll have to try that out

The lip on mine was not stock it was extra big and a Bitch to get out! Looks like it works alot easier with a stock seal!

Ya im 2hrs in now trying to get this leaking pos seal out. I'm close but it is stubborn af
Hunter works has a great alignment tool i have them work Great

I have a 2016 rzr 900, and it's possible to do it like this. It's a bad job on a 900. It took me at least three hours to get mine out.
Just wondering how you like the warranty killer seal after som time. Is it still worth it or should I just pull the engine?
In all fairness I put a belt motor in that machine two or three months later but overall I think it’s a nice seal and it does it’s job Thanks for watching
I couldn’t get mine out at all. I tried and tried. I just pulled the engine tonight to see if I could get better leverage to pull it out.
Hopefully you figured it out. Just take your time with it.
How about an update please? Still working ok? No leaks?
Would oil get in the belt case if the sxs flips over?
Not normally
Awesome thanks for sharing! You guys planning on doing any group rides? Would be cool to meet you guys.

How long did this repair last you or is it still in the machine
I’m wondering the same thing because I have to do this right now
Great video. Where can I get the replacement seal you used?
Should be listed in the description. Thanks for watching
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏
Thank goodness you can repair it yourself 😊
Thank you for sharing
How long did it last??
Did this repair hold up well for y'all?
I'm still trying to get the seal out.
Same

@@brianferland6864 man mine does not want to budge it will spin but no movement when I pull it towards myself
Try tapping the screw driver ad cutting the seal In half. It hard
@@brianferland6864 exactly what i started doing I wasn’t sure if it would go through but I’ll make it happen today, appreciate the tips 🤟
Id love to meet the engineer that designed a seal that you need to rip apart an engine to change and punch him in the throat!
Yeah. Luckily someone figured out how to get around that situation. Thanks for watching!!
The older Rangers and razors have the big seal lip that you are talkin about the newer razors do not
Good to know! Thanks for watching 😊
Why would anybody split the case to change this seal?.
Just finished pulling the sealer , I did way for damage than you guys :( it was tough
Well hopefully everything still sealed up for you. Thanks for watching!

Real outlaws would've pulled the motor and split the case.
Lmao
@@utvoutlaws6652 but really, how did the seal hold up? Would you use one again? Thanks
It has worked just fine
Theirs a way easier way to remove that seal in about 5 min or less with that seal puller buddy
Good to know! We will have to look into that. Thanks for watching!!
Care to elaborate?
