  • It’s Sunday morning I’ve got the beach "all to myself.”There should be quite a few fossils on the beach today, washed out by the Easterly winds blowing the sea in. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs the best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. I offer fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast on the following website, so feel free to take a look at the website I made, with our online fossil walks ------www.lymeregisfo... There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in place along the Jurassic Coast.

Thanks for that , we had some great easterly winds that produced some good waves 🌊 from the East , and that scoured the beaches . Collecting at low tide was good

Yes it’s been a great way to make a living for 35 years and get these fossils into museums, instead of seeing them destroyed by the sea 🌊
