That monkey isn’t waving with his foot. He looks a little stressed. Probably because monkey’s don’t really want to share their human parents. The parrot was between him and his ‘mother’. Stressed equals floating limb syndrome. Look it up
I’ve seen a capuchin slam his hand hard on the island until his owner fed him at 3 am and when he wouldn’t be fed he would wake up the owner by either hitting his face or biting his fingers so I would agree

What's the point of taking out it's teeth and putting a collar around its neck to keep it away and not to let it bite when you can take the bird away,I hate this since I have birds and it would hurt me so much if they got hurt because of my stupidity.stop doing this and let the monkey go somewhere else
Just by watching that video you can tell that the Capuchin is not in a good mental or physical state. It has had teeth removed, is being restrained and is living in a house with no natural interaction from other Capuchin's. People who keep these intelligent creatures as pets don't appreciate the animals and if they think a house is a good environment for them to live in are too thick to be aloud to own one. I have nothing against having birds as pets because they can be housed in a human environment with little to no problems but primates are not in the slightest way suitable to live in such a different environment to where they are found in the wild.
Love the back foot wave , and Max wants to get Coco but every time Max moves Coco don't back down. Funny with there back and fourth ... Just to cute and funny
The monkey wasn't being silly with it's feet: it was a cockatoo displaying its crest (sign language). Glad to see it was interested in the bird. Monkeys normally ignore them. Very friendly behaviour.
Alpha Omega Most say this was dangerous body language and I've felt it may have very well been, as well. Happy to have someone weigh in with a different and positive opinion. I never saw this type of signing before or again. Once, Coco flew to Max's high chair...my husband was supposed to be watching him, but left the room for a moment, returning to Coco standing on the backrest and Max stroking his back (between the wings, near his head) with a single finger, ever so slightly. He said it was super cute and he was being incredibly gentle, but he didn't let it continue and we didn't permit their interaction otherwise. We were too fearful tragedy may come of it, as we had learned monkeys would eat birds in the wild and although Max had a varied and plentiful diet, we didn't want to risk harm coming to Coco.
the monkey was watching for coco to start trying to get the buttons and came over to stop him exactly when you did hah. it looks like max is just trying to keep an eye on coco. smart little bugger
I LOVE birds and all animals. Having said that I think your bid is in great danger from this monkey. At some point, he will try to hurt it. Please be careful.
Got rid of it? Euthanized? If so that's too bad. Like so many other pets (especially intelligent ones) they suffer obliviously to the people who "own and love" them. I could've taken this animal if I lived in the states, no problem! Sorry to hear it.
***** She stated that she gave it to someone else...that would make its fourth home in its short life of 8 years..but she did be sure to say how happy he was at his new home..of course he is...they love to get super attached to a family and then be shuffled on to the next one...again..for the fourth time...
+Gina Powell I'm glad circumstances have not forced you to ever have to make difficult decisions such as we have faced. Max is happy, healthy and loved. That's all that matters. For the record, he was not "rid of", rather placed in a loving, qualified and caring home. For those who don't know Max, in his first home he was badly abused, his second, he was rescued, rehabilitated and trained so he might assimilate into a loving home, then he was with us and due to unforeseen circumstances, a move forced us into a jurisdiction where it's illegal to own primates. He was placed with someone he knew at a financial loss to us, as it was more important to us that we find him a proper home, than recoup the money we had invested in him.
They sell birds like this in some bird stores. There are also some people who breed and sell them here. You would have to look it up on Google or something to see which breeders or bird stores that have them are near you.
If the monkey got hungry enough it would probably eat the bird. It’s probably more likely that the monkey would kill the bird because she pissed him off

Disgusting why have a monkey then take its teeth out, if it's because your scared of getting bit, you should not have a monkey it's so cruel on so many levels
His teeth were extracted by previous owners (I had no involvement and didn’t even know Max at this time). As cruel as I agree it is the justification behind this (as shared with me by a number of others in the monkey world) is that a bite sending a person to ER would result in animal control being involved and animal quite possibly being put down. It’s fair to say over half of the monkeys I’ve met have undergone such extractions. :(
It’s so the monkey doesn’t bite other people. Because if that happens, the monkey most likely gets put down. I’ve had canines removed on both my capuchins for that reason. Although they’ve never gotten aggressive and/or bit me or anyone, better safe than sorry.
