- A legit PC-98 Remix of Chimata Tenkyuu's Theme from Touhou 18 Unconnected Marketeers.
I finally finished it.
I really should put more time to cover this music, but I also at my limit of experience and knowlegde on music making so I didn't really know how I can make it much better. I do love how this turned out though, but I still feel it's not good enough.
Instead I just like "oh it would be cool if I add some kind of gameplay that look similar to Touhou PC98, along with the music", and then made the danmaku gameplay.
It's not hardware accurate of course. There's so many things that the real pc98 might not be able to handle, like there can be more color displayed at the same time, etc.
The danmaku gameplay, is an actual gameplay of me playing it. It's also not accurate to the actual gameplay of Stage 6 Touhou 18, but it's close enough. Initially I wanted to made it just simple enough to use as a "gameplay" for this video, but I ended up making the whole danmaku engine. Although It's missing so many things like the dialog, items, even the bomb, I didn't implement bombing.
Beside that, I also playing with the source code of 98FMPlayer (the pmd player that I always use), and able to add my own color palette.

This is really, really well done. The PC-98 recreation of her fight, and the excellent cover (I really like what you did with the chorus especially) itself. I can tell there was a lot of effort and heart put into this. You said you're gonna be putting more time aside to work on game dev, right? Seems like you have a bright start already on multiple fronts. I wish you the best of luck!
Saw the clip on Twitter and was like “oh cool there’s a little animation to go with the song”; I didn’t realize you coded an entire fight to go with it. Fantastic job (remix is great as well too)

I really, really want more people to make make PC-98 recreations of fights.
This fandom is overflowing with the most feverishly creative people I've seen. No matter how much I love something I could never have this level of motivation. Incredible work.

Man really went from just want to creating PC-98 remix into making recreation of Chimata's fight altogether. I can imagine how much effort you put into this. One of my favourite theme from th18. Totally legit remix, hats off to you man!
