The backgrounds during the battle go from the inner sanctum to within the city, then at the end of the battle, the city is far away on the horizon. It gives me the impression that our human/spirit duo is being chased away by Keiki during the battle. The animal spirit does tell us to retreat once we meet her, after all.

Probably not the human protags, even, since it's probably their first time getting into the Primate Garden. It's from the perspective of the _spirit possessing the heroines_ that the PG got rekt.
It's pretty incredible to see someone invest so much effort into a thing that attracts such a niche audience, but it really pays off. This is a one-of-a-kind gem, alright.
This theme reminds me of Byakuren's. I wasn't really impressed at first but it grew on me like a colourful fungus with a cute hat. And I'm ALWAYS a sucker for some good OPNA, so... yeah, you're great.

Yeah! Keiki's theme is rocking it as always! I always loved its haunting character! I think after all these years, Touhou's new soundtracks are regaining their haunting quality from the PC-98 days!
I think the grace notes are fine on the original, but I took them out because they definitely doesn't work well on the pc98 context but thanks! I definitely disliked the original's drums as well

Actually keiki didnt "destroy" the city. Keiki "turned" the city from a beautiful paradise to a techno modern world city
