      @@johannamendoza4254 Hey there! On 24th until the late afternoon most things will be open, but close earlier than usual. Christmas eve is one of the most important holidays for Hungarians. 25th most things will be closed yes, some restaurants and bars may be open. You can still enjoy the nice buildings and wonderful architecture, the town will be much more peaceful and laid back, it's a unique way of exploring the city

    Love your videos, they are always so helpful :) I just went to Budapest last month but I'm considering coming back for the New Year. Is it possible for you to make a video about that at one point? Because until now I haven't been able to find any useful videos about where to stay, where to eat and where to go on New Years Eve.

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  Рік тому +2

      Thank you! Glad you find them useful! :) Regarding New Years eve, we'll probably won't be making a video about that any time soon. What I can tell you is that there are two kinds of people when it comes to new years: Those who either spend the eve with their friends/family, or those who go out to bars, clubs or roam the streets for fun. There will still be a lot of people in the city center :) Places like bars and restaurants don't become "better or special" for new years, so essentially, there isn't any particular place to recommend for the evening. If you wish to have a nice dinner at a restaurant, you should book a table in advance, and for some clubs and bars, there may be a queue to get in. Of course people are a bit more upbeat and energetic, so that is what really defines the new years, and not the places themselves :) Regarding where to stay, during the night, the night service buses operate, and of course it's a prime day for taxi drivers (just don't use freelancers, only use taxis via apps, like Bolt). Since it's a popular time to visit Budapest, prices for Hotels may be a bit higher, and availability may be less. I hope these notes help a bit :)

    To feel the Budapest atmosphere even more, it's a good idea to take bus number 7 and visit the Market Hall at Bosnyak ter in the Zugló district. An unusual idea (for those who have a lot of time) may also be a walk through... the Kerepesi Cemetery, which is the Hungarian equivalent of Pere Lachaise in Paris.

      Bus 7 is a major line going through most of Budapest all the way from the outskirts in Pest and Down in Buda, through the center of the city stopping at Keleti railway station, Blaha Lujza square and Astoria. Sitting through the whole line is like getting a crash course in Budapest from the Panel Buildings from Socialist times, through the peaceful suburbs with houses and gardens, through the city center with older and more crumbling buildings but also the refurbished areas too.

      Hey there! It is not advised as per the BKK website to use 1 single phone for multiple people. Technically there is a way to do it but it's convoluted and risky it may not work 100% of the time. If you cannot use a separate phone per person, stick to the physical tickets/passes instead, they are also easy to get 😊

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures

      The Budapest Card can be purchased at a few locations in the city like at Deák tér in the center there is a large booth with large signs, hard to miss, or at BKK customer service centers, like at Keleti or Kelenföld railway station (I don't see one at Nyugati railway station). If you are looking for the regular public transport pass, most stations have vending machines, or the Budapest Go app can be used for digital tickets 😊

      Hey there! Yes the public transport pass covers all the buses, trams and subways within the boundaries of Budapest 😊 we have a video about public transport if you may have some more questions on the topic 😊

    Hi, I just discovered your channel, and thank you for the detailed video. Are there many vegetarian food options in Budapest?

      HI there! While Hungarian cuisine itself is limited when it comes to Vegetarian dishes, almost all restaurants will have a few Vegetarian options on their menus. I've been to a place called Vegan Garden where they took some of the traditional Hungarian dishes and converted them ino a Vegan offering and they were nice (I tried their Bean soup and the Mushroom Paprikash, they were both really nice). However some of our viewers recommended the Happy Cow Application where you can find Vegetarian and Vegan options. It may help you with finding some good Vegetarian restaurants 😊 I can also recommend some of the Indian restaurants in the city. While they are not "local food" places, we have a nice selection of Indian restaurants with some excellent Vegetarian options on their menus 😊 (one of my fav places from these is Pesti Chutney for example)
