its from the bonnoroo set in 2006 before they released the full stripped back version on "in rainbows" honesty they are both just as powerful in there own ways but I rather the 2006 version its sick...
@thom4443 that ugly drum pattern ruins the studio version. It's the only flaw in their best album.
That All I Need sound check has alt lyrics I have never heard before-“I’m a flash flood running through your ground floor”. I kind of love that, it is a very evocative line.
'"Wake Me" by far to me the most valuable piece of treasure in the world of unreleased RH material....Can only hope/dream maybe it closes the 10th album, all fingers crossed. I've never heard a clean beginning of it like this - wow thank you so so so much! 'Supercollider' on piano sounded amazing. 'The Present Tense' - ironic name in the sense that the more stripped down the version the more I love it....studio take is fantastic, more so the 'Jonny and Thom and CR78' but for me nothing will ever beat this original take I loved for years before it was formally put down for the album. Guess just nice to have them all! First time hearing old version of 'Open the Floodgates' definitely the most powerful moment and exquisite live song for the first 'Smile' album IMO...didn't know it kicked back to these days though not a surprise. I guess it gives me the reverse hope that all the ideas (and it seems - no surprise here - Thom and Jonny are in song idea machine mode as they tour The Smile, that they are/will be saving some of the tastiest for RH LP10 which I still believe will happen as probably the final gift to mankind).
Can only hope dream maybe it closes the 10th album.......Jesus dude May god hear your wishes , my fingers are crossed too and waiting for that much waited announcement theyre about to record new music
@@reneperez2126 I always enjoyed the cool part of loving RH - seeking the hard to find treasure. Remember exactly where I was when I heard Thom play 'Lotus Flower' on an acoustic in 2010, man I love that take, though they really nailed the album version. As songs like 'Present Tense' and 'Follow Me Around' are recorded, this one to me remains the ultimate. But I mean, Thom alone probably has 500 songs he'll never play to any of us let alone the whole band, we'd all be blown away by most of them. How many acoustic gems like the B-Side "Gagging Order" or "A Reminder" is a musical mind like that able to write - a gazillion. But they curate what they put out as any artist does, with purpose, it has worked and made them the Generational genre defying true gift to music they are. I guess hopefully somehow they come back around to this song, yeah, even if it ends up with synths and a electronic drum beat sampled backwards, I'm cool with that!
LP10 will bring humanity salvation.
@dreww1609 I suppose they write so much because they've lived through so much and feel so much... Thom and Jonny are two of the best people I know at putting pain/fear/frustration/anxiety/ but also the silver lining and beauty in everything to music. My Grandpa always said you can never truly play the blues until you've lived them... (not necessarily true but I always thought that was cool). So grateful for everything these guys have ever played/recorded! Fingers crossed on that RH album someday!🙏
@@trevorbsmith716 Aside from the surface of brilliant songwriting and soundscapes and a ridiculous drum and bass holding it down, between the lyrics and arrangements and vocal delivery, Thom's emotions do come through much like the old blues (it's my other musical fascination and love) so well taken point...so Thom between his words, one-of-a-kind emotive singing, both the tone and the melodies he creates, Jonny seems so mild mannered but he's a human with all the same emotions so the sonnective tissue has his fingerprints everywhere, the string arrangements bring so much - "How To Disappear Completely" would be an all=time great track as a full acoustic with Thom by himself, but the famous dissonant synth note that hangs out for the first 2 minutes, that's Jonny or Nigel's work (and Nigel gets credit for this conveyance of emotion as well) but of course just as a clear example, what an effect the strings have to that song, lifting up into the highest heights of music possible - I've sent that to many people as an intro to RH and for a fact 3 of them texted me to tell me 'what the hell, I'm crying from this song.' That say it all. Seen it happen to some reactors. But Jonny gets his emptions across....I mean, my God, his impact on what is considered by many as the greatest film so far of the 21'st century, "There Will Be Blood' - his score is utterly an absolute necessity for the complete delivery and epic breadth of that iconic movie. One of the tracks he had released a couple years earlier so it disqualified it from the Academy Awards but it'd have had a strong chance of cruising for that award. He's gotten 2 more nominations, so at some point I am confident he'll win one. But to have someone with those skills as your #2 songwriter, I mean, that is the story of this band achieving what they have and even Ed sitting back with his insane pedal setup and adding these tones and riffs that are like calls for help or intensity. It's a group effort and despite how happy Thom and Jonny are with how their musical odyssey is going, I am a believer they'll want to share in the joy of being with their childhood friends again to deliver more glorious and experimental music ow that they have all done side or solo projects and made it through covid and he and Jonny must be churning out ideas as they tour "The Smile" - I have to imagine some of them at least they think 'these belong as RH songs.' But, I'll be ok with whatever happens, their music will last me my lifetime just The Beatles did for the Boomer generation. Peace/

I knew that the vocals wouldn't be that great/would be different from the final versions, they are demos that exist just as proofs of concept but when he started singing so low in the jigsaw demo it completely caught me off guard

Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses actually dates back to around the Kid Amnesiac or Hail to the Thief days, though under the name Reckoner.
Yes, there is a 2001 full band recording. This is the 2005 recording Thom played along with some In Rainbows songs and House of Cards' debut. It has a different chorus from the 2001 version

Wow Come to your Senses is really great. I feel like it it is one of the best I have heard from them in years. At least it is better then many of the songs on AMSP... What is the story. Why hasn't it been released. Was it scraped? - Also by the way. It reminds me of some musician. I can not quite put my finger on it. Neil Young, maybe. Still not sure. Anyone help me out..?

Yes it is. In this recording, Thom played it live on the Sound Opinions interview for the Chicago Public Radio in 2006.
Used to love Radiohead but their consistent support of the vicious apartheid Israeli regime has finished them for me.
