I feel like I cannot create a model without subdivision modifier. I wonder how they make these amazing models. Thank you for this great guide

More than likely, ctrl + R and then scrolling.

@@AZEOforrealAs far as I'm concerned, actually the key point is having a clean topology. But giving the exact shape of the model with the good topology needs experience.

@@mertyazici7453 true, actually. I think that’s often forgotten. I watched a video once, can’t link it due to YT guidelines but it was about topology. Great little video. Helped with a lot of the basics, and got me rolling. BeamNG is such a technical game, though.

You can make low poly models look smooth by right-clicking and then click smooth surface or smooth surface by angel.

It has been a while since I did 3D modeling, so I dont know if there are more efficient methods of doing this now.
The way I did it was with a high poly to low poly workflow, where you start with , as you said, a base model with a high poly count and a subdivision modifier.
At the first stage I did not really care about poly count, and more about smooth surfaces and the quality of the model.
Then I rebuilt the whole model a second time, with poly count in mind. l used the snap to surface option and the shrinkwrap modifier to wrap the low poly model around the high poly model.
In the end, I uv unwrapped the low poly model and used texture baking (AO, Heigth, Normal Maps etc.) to project the different features (like smoothed edges etc.) from the high poly model to the low poly model.
