Lee was such a creative soul, he could've excelled in architecture or film or anything he chose. Wish he had written a book so we could see his thought process and how he saw the world. RIP, he is so missed.
I felt his joy when he was revisiting pieces from his earliest collections. He looked like a happy child. He really loved his work. Maybe his relationship was different with the fashion industry though.
Depression is not something who knocks on your door, asking to come in. It is not up to anyone to choose or not to have depression. Don't be ignorant about one of the most destructive disease, ever!
What an incredible, incredible artist and true genius! I have fallen in love with his work, his style and this wild, non-compromising thirst to push boundaries of conventional since I did art at school and then at St. Martin's! I went to see his collections at museums, just couldn't get enough of them. Such a tremendous loss for the world!! It was a huge shock! I would have so loved to see his films if he lived and started making them. Can hardly believe that he took his own life!! He seems so content and at peace with himself and life in this film.. but I guess, you never know. Thank you a tonne for posting this documentary!!! _/\_
There could never be another Lee Alexander McQueen. He saw the world in a way that was completely his own, and he may not be here anymore, but the beautiful legacy that he left behind will live on forever.
It makes me so happy to hear that he is “ happy and at peace “ with himself here.... as an admirer of his work and now his person.. his death is less haunting... and his legacy in design concepts, approach to his aesthetics, calm and commanding leadership, wit and humor will forever be celebrated with the demons put away from all those ... and instead, that it’s his spirit and person be the light you will always see and celebrate... will watch this again and again to lift me
It is incredible to see how relaxed and almost a soothing vibe with this video. He killed himself because of his demons and not having real friends because they were friends with "Alexander" and not "Lee".....To have the death of a parent as close as he was to his mother and how lonely he was mixed with drugs it was tragic that he was so alone. By far a great segment I have seen.of him. A kind man may he rip.
I'm sad that this video clip mentions that he did not get any help when in fact he did, Isabella Blow helped him immensely, she did everything to help him out from letting him live in her house to financing him.
I often wonder if his weight loss in later years was at all related to his his diagnosis. really wonder how much that contributed to his depression and his end :/
He was a genius! He was gifted by God,he reached the top,but.......He couldn't reach inner peace! Maybe this is the " curse" of geniality ! May he rest in peace, în a world without suffering!😢
He is absolutely amazing, the work he did when he was alive was wonderful. As a young designer I admire all his collections, my favorite is "The Horn Of Plenty". Lee will always be in my heart, in my deepest inspirations, couture is beyond!
+ Sebastian sartorialissmo Not much going on between your ears, is there. It's a French program for French TV. Are you too stupid to read subtitles? Dumb fuck.
Fashion and money 💰 dance toghether is like the way against true inside us and method to divide people for worse and better. But how to making clothes for everyone maybe "richest" and don't destroy world our us😉🦩.We've seen it many times. Maybe that's art, but 🤔it was rather fight with yourself and some of people. He wanted be in minimalism architecture and that's was a bit against luxury and commercial fashion industry but great real in him.😏 Real sweet dreams melody 😉
why he killed himself?he was depressed....but someone who is depressed doesn't work and create so much, as he did. He was GENIOUS. And so beautiful being...Strange
Magda Sim depressed people do act like him did u really say that? He killed himself probably from too much life in the past he was heavily sexually and physicLly abused growing up and you see the sexuality and scared look and masochistic look in his shows and clothes. That's absolutely wild Ronda depressed people don't make art like this wow it was probably his only safe outlet for all you know.
Magda Sim We will not know ...Perhaps a mixture of inner demons, pressure, over work, lack of sleep, drugs, the loss of his close friend and the death of his mother. He had a deep soul
He loved nature but he lost in the commercial business industry. So he prefered to show creativity to survive instead to show what’s correct to do if you love nature. Sure it wasn’t an easy decision.
it is called the deepest sort of passion with all creative intensity - one has to be a little troubled in ordered to live life to the fullest and experience the widest perspectives in the whole universe - etc - etc - etc. RIP
No one gives a fuk about clothes or hats when you're dead. If you'd stuck to something like cabbing as your brother did, then OK, you wouldn't have been famous but you wouldn't have been dead either sunshine. So many 'look at me' muppets in the fashion industry, seriously. Your health is more important than the shit you put on your back in the morning, or the shit you put up your nose at night. Aspiring fashionistas out there, get a normal life, a regular job, be healthy and stay alive, that's the true success story.
Alexander Mcqueen was way too talented to be a normal worker, like a cab driver for example! He had one of the most extraordinary minds in the world and that's why he was so famous! And he was definitely not a Muppet! I most certainly agree that health is very important but the world needs people like Alexander McQueen, otherwise the world would be plain boring!
Reees Lamontert you would never understand the mind of a genius with your one dimensional understanding of life. People come for a purpose and leave for a purpose. I dont expect you to grasp what i just said, but i thought I'd take a leap of faith that you'd rise out of your mundane robotic coma for a split second. One can only hope.
But in a world in which everyone only aspired to be a cab driver, imagine how bland and lifeless it would be without art to sustain creativity and thought. Most people would probably kill themselves.
Lee was such a creative soul, he could've excelled in architecture or film or anything he chose. Wish he had written a book so we could see his thought process and how he saw the world. RIP, he is so missed.
he was quite a charming guy ......it just makes me sad that he was not able to fight off his inner demons. So very talented.
he seemed to be humble and transparent. May he rest in peace.

He radiates a kind and gentle soul ❤️
