One thing I learned in a semi-dry soil is to put water into the planting holes, let it sink, then plant up, water again. Plants should be firmly pushed into the soil. Hat bale mulch is a good idea in Spain. Shade cloth over new plantings should help roots develop.
You may need to plant marigolds around to deter pests, or put up bird feeders to get them to eat the pests. Lavender should grow well, they're good for attracting pollinators.
🧡🧡💙💙💜💜💚💚🤍🤍You are brave and I hope everything goes well for you all... mistakes are made at the beginning but every year it will be better. From Malaga, a big hug family.
Well done with your start on the regeneration of the land and tree/food planting. Can you share your permaculture plans with us, its sometimes a little difficult to work out where the plantings and buildings are. Amazed at how much Isabel(le? has grown in the time. Regards from Australia.
The cabin? It is still fine and we use it for storage mainly at the moment. We plan to finish off the last bits next year because we would love to introduce Isabelle to camping and sleep up there sometimes. We have moved across the cooking stove, but need to make it a bit more child friendly in there before we stay overnight.
We’re further down in the south of Catalunya, in the Baix Ebre region. But likely the terrain is very similar along the coast. It’s not that far away. ☺️
Loved the filming but dont you think it could be more engaging uf you ralked directly to the camera...more storytelling and inviting for people to subscribe ?

We soaked the bales before breaking them up & then again afterwards when we first put them in. But good idea for the second round of planting!
It was a nice calm watch on Sunday morning in UK, I liked when you added Spanish names to different plants - very informative:) Enjoy your Sunday.
Thank you 💚 We’re glad you enjoyed it!

Yes that’s a great idea. Maybe we can use some drone shots to give some perspective and describe the areas a bit 🤔
What happened to the wooden structure you built on the land?
