- It's 1950's Glen Grant!! It's 67 Years Old!! It's First Fill European Oak Sherry!! Its Cask Strength bottled at 59.4% ABV!! It Retailed at $7,000!! What more can I say besides here is our Review!!
I feel pretty fortunate to've been able to try this piece of history. I couldn't even describe it, you guys always deliver a masterclass on tasting notes. I was blown away from how vibrant it was for its age. One of the best all-time for me. Merry Christmas boys!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays guys. Good ol Nick did you a solid. That is a serious Glen Grant offering. It feels like Glen Grant or Glenlivet may surprise the whisky world one of these years with a 100 year old cask juice as there is already an 80 year old out there.

Now that is a festive dram ! I haven't try an as old Glen Grant (but two different 1955 bottled around 15 years ago or so...). The profile you described is gorgeous....Enjoy every drop ! Merry Christmas to both of you ! (yep when it gets old, those 40 yo + whiskies tend to taste a bit of the same (I'm thinking of the old Strathisla, Macallan or Glenfarclas, for instance-the oldest Karuizawa I tried though, a 1967 vintage, had those elements you describe, but was still coming across as Japanese, imho, maybe because of the specific Japanese smoky note it has), as the oak is doing most of the talk, but I get that the rustic side of Glen Grant still comes across here, rather than the more mineral/almondy side of it when very young (don't know if you agree with that). I know you boys did reviews on that before, but that was in your youth. Just interested to listen to your present day perspective on that magnificent beast.

A lot of good points made, amazing score and certainly worth the cost IMO. What people don't realize is, this expression sat in a cask for 67 years, gets bottled and then advertised for sale. G&M hasn't made a dime for minimum 67 years. This isn't even bottled in their private collection bottle, which I'm sure would cost more just for the fancier bottle. My Costco has the G&M Glen Grant 62 yr for $6k. Thanks for sharing with us. Merry Xmas.. Great review.

I’d love to ball out like you guys some day haha. Great review! It’s hard to believe you’re just regular folks but I trust you. I’m still having a mental block to bottles in this price range despite being able to afford them on occasion. Maybe one day. Merry Christmas to you both, great review as always. As you say how many people are gonna buy this bottle and open it, it’s now sold out at my local store but it was £5000. I can’t justify paying that for a bottle (I’m humming and arring about paying £500 for a bottle I really want) but one thing for sure if I do it will be opened and drunk. Pps I’ve had 2 supreme Gordon and macphail bottles from their connoisseurs range this year both sherry casks and both bursting with exceptional flavour.

I'm sure my Glen Grant 15 official bottling is way better than this.🤣 Seriously, while I can't afford a $7,000 bottle (heck, I can't even afford $700), I agree, that is a good price for a 67-yo whisky, especially if you compare it with others around that age. Those Eisch glasses are magic. By your notes, and by the age, I’d argue this is more a cask whisky than it is Glen Grant. Teasing apart the Distillery character with these ultra aged whiskies is a challenge. Chemistry sucks.
