One of the rarest Samaroli bottlings with 180 ever bottled. One of the rare occasions where Mr. Samaroli selected a 40 year old cask. Truly a Museum piece Whisky.
I really appreciate the time you guys spend with the whiskeys. Also, no one else reviews such high quality bottles on UA-cam. Saving up for an Laphroaig 30 Ian Hunter Book 2.
Wow. What a treat. It’s funny you mention the post consumption nosing. I do the same. In fact I’ve got some old MoM sample jars consumed years ago I closed tight and still come back to now and again. Surprising how long the scent can linger. Thanks for sharing guys!
1959 was just one of those great years for whisky. As well as Samaroli, Cadenhead's have bottled some amazing whiskies from '59 in their dumpy range. I get your motor oil note. As a kid I was dragged around preserved steam engines by my dad and I get the smell of the footplate and the grease off the wheels in old peated oloroso cask Bunna's.
Excellent review guys. I wish we knew about the history and how old was the cask when he bought it and how long did he wait for release. Let's give a little credit to Glen Grant also and not just the cask. It's a distillery that ages well and old Glen Grant's (20+ years) are a good place to be.
Yes, keep doing reviews of these epic whisky's. I have a Glen Grant 22 independent bottle that is very good, but nothing like yours for sure. It would be great if all whisky would taste as good as they smelled. Great review guys.
Excellent review! Do you have any tips of ordering from TWE (to Texas), or from any other site that ships to the states? Order more to bring down shipping for each bottle?
Been following you guys for awhile. I had some questions for you. Any way I could get an email address? I just ordered a couple of samples of the Glen Grant and just wanted to ask you a few things. Thanks, guys. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see what's next.
The boys back with another legend! Great review, hopefully can try this one someday. A lot for hose older Glen Grants are truly special, especially the G&M bottlings. Any others you would recommend?
Thanks bud! I honestly think the G&M ones are the ones to go for. In terms of price to quality they are the best ones in my opinion. I tried sharing your doc but having trouble sharing it on the page.
@@maltreviews Something about those G&M picks are definitely a cut above, will have to track down a couple at some point. Don't worry about the doc, as long as you guys have it that's what counts 👍
greatly appreciate these reviews. I recently picked up a dusty 1968 40 yr old tullibardine ob. The distillery did several releases from the 60's stock, was wondering if you guys have ever tried any of them. Cheers
Yet another epic review guys! I’ve always associated something I get in Springbank with greasy rags or motor oil, do you think there’s a connection? You ever get that?
It is truly amazing that whiskeys like this still exist. Enjoyed the review. Cheers!!
Thank you! Cheers!
So exciting so see you guys release these museum piece reviews. Thanks so much guys.
Thanks for the love EZ and happy your appreciating these reviews. Cheers!!!!

Thank you! That is a good one to save up for. Fair price too for what it is!

That is a unique story. Thanks for sharing!! And yes Cadenhead did bottle some epic whiskies back then as well. Cheers!
Wow. You guys are getting to taste history. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching bud!

Got a couple of samples of this and I am really excited about trying it.
Whoa, another legend on the table. These drams makes me genuinely excited. Thanks for bringing this one up!
Thanks bud!!!
All of the Samaroli reviews are exceptional. Well done gents.
Thank you!!
Had the pleasure of trying a 50+ grant thanks to my boy Jasper. Crazy good even at 40%.
That one is a lighter style but very fruity. Not like your typical older Glen Grants but I loved it.
Hey I’m from Sweden, I’d be happy to stop by with some licorice for a taste of this Samaroli! Lol. Great review as always, your passion is contagious.
Thank you bud!

Thank you Keith and I hear you on smell and taste. Sometimes almost impossible to live up to though.
@@maltreviews I think I have a bottle of that one Keith. Not opened it yet but I have some faith in it. Worth ageing a bit I think.
Wow 😳
Made a mistake watching this at work, craving a pour of something good now...
Haha, I can def see that. Need samples at work.
@@maltreviews need a master blender job haha
🤯 just 💥 no words 😶 🤤

Yes, they are very good and very fairly priced at auctions compared to other whiskies with same quality and rarity. Cheers bud!
@@maltreviews Good to hear, I got it for less than its original msrp in 2009 so it still pays to hunt.

Thank you! Yes we have but def def depends on which bottling.
Great (confusing:-) review!
