He was celebrating the role of the home maker. I wouldn't call him sexist. Sure he targeted his message specifically at women but women are being targeted with messages against motherhood, family and modesty all the time so it's more so to counter these narratives than to say women specifically need to be more focused on family than men. I'm sure he would easily choose his family over his sport career 1000/1000 times. All im saying is people who are shocked to hear a message like this from a religious institution need to realize that some people actually believe in their religion enough to respect and accept the rules of it instead of trying to bastardize it so that it can conform to more secular lifestyles. There are plenty of secular institutions these people can attend if they don't want to be around religious people that stand firmly in their beliefs in favor of family formation above career, against abortion etc....

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church- 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[b] 32 This is a profound mystery-but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

As a Catholic millennial, it's clear that there's a significant movement among young Catholics, ranging from 18 to 37 years old, toward traditional practices such as the Latin Mass, and more conservative values. This younger cohort is noticeably more conservative than the generations that came before, particularly compared to the "boomer" generation within the Church. Many students at this college seem to resonate with these traditional views, and I personally found a recent speech on this topic to be profoundly truthful, addressing essential issues for women and the Church.
Traditional Catholicism, to me, represents the true essence of our faith. Pope Benedict XVI once said, "An authentic interpretation of the Bible must always be in harmony with the faith of the Catholic Church." This aligns with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which states, "The Church's tradition faithfully reflects the teachings of Christ and His Apostles" (CCC 78). Sadly, not everyone understands or respects these traditional practices, and it's disheartening to see traditional Catholics face criticism for their beliefs.
In addition to spiritual pursuits, many young Catholics, myself included, aspire to embrace traditional family roles. Despite personal challenges like infertility, my dream is to become a stay-at-home mother. C.S. Lewis encapsulated this aspiration beautifully, saying, “The homemaker has the ultimate career. All other careers exist for one purpose only - and that is to support the ultimate career.”
To further emphasize the sanctity of motherhood, Pope Francis has expressed deep reverence for this role, stating, "Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for." His words echo the Church's enduring defense of motherhood as a fundamental pillar of family and society.
