It’s nice to see they have pockets on the rain fly for the crossbar. This tent didn’t used to have that, and earlier reviews noted that it was a design flaw. Looks like Featherstone listened to customer feedback and made the improvement. That says a lot about them.
I really appreciate this video, I've been looking for a starting tent to get into backpacking and camping with and decided on this model but every video about it was very out of date. The buckle snaps for the fly and nylon pockets protecting the fly where the poles meet it are both new and are very good features to know about.
Hey like yalls content! Little thing about dark none highviz colors I always use survey flagging flo pink or flo orange. I tie of a small piece on everything and it helps to see objects at night and helps not loose things that are small and blend in like them stakes!!

I had made up my mind on the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL (your video contributed to that decision) and was okay with the price, as i do believe, buy once, cry once... after your trial of the Featherstone, would you say the features, material, weight savings, etc. justify the higher price of the Big Agnes? Again, i am not looking for the best budget option, but rather the best option and features at a given price point. Thank you in advance for your time
If you can swing it, I’d go with the Copper Spur. It is going to be lighter, taller headroom, and more storage pockets. Of course that comes with a much higher price tag. 🙂

We haven’t had the chance to test the Bryce 2p so cannot give you any guidance there. We also reviewed featherstones trekking pole tent if you wanted to go that route.

Do you know if the Featherstone Peridot has those same pockets on the fly? Also, could you tell me the length of the folded pole segments? I'm considering this tent for bikepacking, so shorter pole segments allow more options for attaching to the bike. Thanks!!
Come on... 5 pounds for a 2-person tent is not "ultralight", lol. They are just slapping on that UL label on everything thinking they might fool a few people. For comparison, the Marmot Superalloy tents are half the weight of this tent in the same size.
I reached out to featherstone about this one. The reason they have that naming convention is that UL standards for the option of having just a fast-fly and footprint set up. Which equates to 2 lbs 6 oz. Their tents that don't offer this won't have it.

Have their peridot and obsidian model tents. Have had good experiences using their gear. Trying the moon dance too quilt right now

Just buy some little strong magnets and some tenacious tape or something and put your own magnets on.
Very good job. You should have weighed the excess bags. I bet they were under 4 oz in total.

The length of the pole bundle is 15”. Sorry we have no experience with the Peridot tent so can’t help you there.
the Peridot does have the pockets on the fly and storage pockets on all four corners of the inner tent
Can the tent be set up, foot print and rain fly first,? Leaving the body tent last in case of downpour rain.
We didn’t try it, but there should be no reason you couldn’t do that.

And it’s 4x the price. The point is for 100$ this is UL, most tents in that price range are closer to 10 pounds or more
Not sure a 5 pound tent can hold the appropriate title as being UL
