Stalink Power Cable - veritasvans.com/product/starlink-mini-car-power-supply/ref/ExploreTrekAdventure/
The Veritas Vans Starlink Mini Mount is a versatile and durable solution for mounting your Starlink Mini. We test it out with our Winnebago Revel, demonstrating both the magnetic and suction cup attachment options. We test the holding strength, show how easy it is to assemble, and discuss the pros and cons of the mount. While we’re using it in our Winnebago Revel, this mount can easily adapt to any camping or RV setup, making it a great option for van lifers, RV travelers, and anyone looking to stay connected on the road.

    Two more stakes to open the vents and tighten the ridge line seems well worth the weight. I'm only 5'10", so I may not need another tie out to lift the tent from my toes, but I wouldn't obsess over the weight anyway. I'll ditch the shepherd hooks but won't hesitate to carry all of the lighter stakes and maybe a few more. I have the Lanshan 1 and decided to buy a two person trekking pole tent for extra space. My choice came down to the double-walled Lanshan 2 (not Pro) or this tent, and I opted for this one. It'll be my first single-walled tent, so I'll learn from experience how much condensation is a problem. It definitely provides more space than either the Lanshan 2 or the Lanshan 2 Pro, and I like the assymetry providing more head room.

    Nice video...do you really need starlink mini on the east coast with my Verizon cellular hotspot?

    • @ExploreTrekAdventure
      @ExploreTrekAdventure 11 годин тому

      It really depends on your connectivity needs. While a cellular hotspot can work great in areas with strong Verizon coverage, Starlink Mini can be invaluable when camping in remote locations outside of cell range. Consider your typical camping spots - if you frequently venture into backcountry areas where cell service is spotty or non-existent, the Starlink Mini could be a worthwhile investment. But if you mainly camp in areas with reliable Verizon coverage, your current hotspot setup might be all you need.

      @ExploreTrekAdventure 5 днів тому

      If you prioritize off-road capabilities and are willing to sacrifice some space, the Revel is a great option. While RVs are rarely a good financial investment, there is a strong resale market for Revels. Just keep in mind that most upgrades don’t add much to the resale value.

      We don’t have personal experience with these, but you might want to check out the REI Co-op Passage 1 tent. It would be cheaper, but it’s much heavier and looks like they no longer make it. You may still be able to find a used one. Also, REI currently has the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL1 on sale, which is a lightweight option with a side entrance and a decent vestibule if you're looking for something compact and functional.

    I have rockietalkie. Do you input the output/input hz listed on the repeater ( ex 100hz input / 100hz output) or do you input the code corresponding with the aforementioned (ex 12| 100 hz)

      Rocky talkie put out a video on how to connect to a repeater. Hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/39IAt7EdCMY/v-deo.htmlsi=f1LMHEwx2dDfLQ2H

    Strings? Uh, how bout guy lines?

    • @ExploreTrekAdventure
      @ExploreTrekAdventure 14 днів тому

      You’re absolutely right-‘guy lines’ is the proper term. They might look like string, but they’re made from stronger materials like nylon or polyester. Thanks for pointing that out!

    You need the British army fire dragon bcb version which has a wind shield on it! Much more efficient!

      We have heard multiple people mention that version. Definitely need to check it out. Thanks for the tip. 😀

    Nice user friendly presentation. I got one of these about five years ago specifically because it's great for home AND outdoors. Not the most backpack friendly but rugged, reliable, low maintenance and fun. Thanks you two.

      Thanks so much for sharing your experience! We totally agree-it’s such a great option for home and outdoor use. Definitely not a backpacking item, but it’s so fun to use. Glad you’re enjoying yours!

    Should the cross member be over top or underneath the other supports? The exterior top cross member.

      I zoomed in on the Durston video and it appears to me that it was on the bottom. That was my best guess.

    Things it needs. 1 lower price, 2 red light and red blinking light, 3 stronger magnets, 4 a dimmer dial to control the light instead of 3 modes.

      I like the blinking red light idea which would be good for a road hazard signal.

    "titanium shepherds' hooks"?? Why not the far better aluminum MSR Ground Hog stakes? My 4 season solo tent is a Tarptent Moment DW. Enough room , 2 doors, 2 vestibules and excellent ventilation. I have the "solid" wall inner tent version W/mesh vent panels at the top. But yeah, it ain't free standing. No big deal for me. My 3 season solo is a Tarptent NOTCH Li. But it COULD work in a freak autumn or spring snowfall. TIP: Leave the inner attached to the flys so you can set up quickly and keep the inner dry in a storm when setting up or striking the tent. I do it with all my Tarptent double wall tents.

      We have a few Shepard hooks that we aren’t using is the only reason. If I were to purchase new ones we would get more MSR Groundhog Minis like we use on our Copper Spur.

    We have an old (easy set up tent... 4 person), that we now use for 2 reasons. During the day we use it for shade for the dogs... they love it! At night, thats where the poo bucket sits... we have privacy, it is no where near our sleeping tent and (as a woman... I don't have to walk to the washrooms at 2 in the morning, by myself!) 👍💩

    Gimmick. I can make a flat surface the same size in about the same time as getting that out
