Hey guys, I really appreciate the education and ingenuity. Thank you for putting the animal welfare first. The floating blind has intrigued me since I first saw Steve’s video years ago. Do you deploy it in public spaces (say Kent Lake) freely?
Thanks Jim. Yes I have used the floating blind at Kensington Metropark many times. Although only in areas that allow boats, the lake with the heron rookery is off limits to boats without a permit. Also FYI I am currently in the process of doing a complete redesign of the floating blind. Version 2.0 will be much more portable in fact you will be able to put it in a duffle and fly on a commercial flight with it!
@@SteveGettle That sounds very cool. I look forward to seeing it. You might consider compiling a (commercial) DIY multimedia plan for building such a blind.
Hey Steve, The floating blind is designed to work best in water where I can walk along the bottom. But if I do step in a hole it will support my entire weight as I hang from my elbows, and sort of "bicycle pedal" for locomotion. The "muckiest" situation was when I inadvertently got in deep water on a windy day. The wind was blowing harder than I could propel myself. I ended up on the other side of the lake! Lesson learned lol
this video is awesome
Excellent job.....subscribed
Awesome, thank you Sarah!
Keep up the great work...
We will!

😍😍😍😍
hmmmm, interesting 🧐
excuse me, why is your video everywhere?
You hide on the ground like that around here and you'll be covered in wood ticks in no time.
There is a floor in the Hokki Blind so I don't think that would be a problem. Totally worth the extra effort - it is such a great perspective!
Floating blind not going to work where there’s leeches snakes or alligators
Oh come on now don't be such a chicken LOL
