In this video, I talk about the book "Print & Pattern Nature" , Bowie Style, and how it inspires me to create new art palettes and illustrative mark making. I show my progress with my oracle deck and the art journal page that will adorn the back of each of my 71 art oracle deck cards. I do a watercolour and gouache landscape background (underpainting of sorts), using colours on Scotties, House and Home tissue box.

Note: Watercolour palettes from www.theoceanpaper.com and gouache from Stoneground Paint Co. Sketchbook is Artist Loft Recycled paper coil book , 60lb paper, and art journal is Strathmore, 140lb paper journal.

thanks Chris! Yes, the oracle deck is one of the largest art projects I've ever worked on....with the greatest learning curve. But it will be the most rewarding, I believe.... reach out anytime if I can help at all. I took some awesome classes, but they were investments and you need to feel "ready" for them. :)

what a beautiful compliment- Angela and I corresponded years ago as I'd taken one of her classes, and we bonded as she has family here in Calgary, where I live. I didn't realized she's on UA-cam and just subscribed! I adore her teaching style and I see more realism in her watercolour art compared to mine- but would love to hear more of how my art/teaching style reminds you of hers. I've also been told my work reminds people of Andrea Soos- and I love her style! Also Canadian!

What a gorgeous palette... again. Love all the ways you find inspiration. 🧡 I am learning so much about mark making from watching you and listening to what you have to say. Quiet is such a gorgeous painting (I remember when you posted it in your IG stories) and I love the story behind the etched flowers I admire. I am learning a lot about how you can fix elements that are initially "happy accidents". I just changed some marks I didn't like into a flower as I watched, and love the way it turned out. Your videos are amazing resources. Thank you!
