- In this video, I start with a watercolour warm up and paint two small watercolour backgrounds for future addition of mixed media elements, once dry. I use #mystoneground paints (see below for details), both watercolour and gouache palettes. I discuss the artists currently offering "create your own oracle deck" classes, Cathy Nichols and Alena Hennessey. Also, Monica Stadalski offers some great oracle deck classes through Skillshare. I show a few oracle decks that I've purchased myself and love, and talk about the creation of my own. I show both Dorland's wax medium and Gamblin, and the collage on wood panels that I'm currently working on. I do a short demo with the Neo Colour Caran D'ache wax (1s) and watersoluble (2s) crayons. I show you how I like to work in my art journal, and more.

Thank you for sharing your talents Allison. You truly are an inspiration to me as a novice to water colour painting. Through you, I have found my niche, and hope I’m not too old to pursue my dreams with this beautiful medium. I love your passion, your drive, and your determination to reach a goal. Your oracle cards look fantastic. I like your idea of two projects at a time, to not waste the paint. I’m hooked, and love to go over your videos time and again. Thank you again for sharing.
thankyou for such a beautiful message and you inspired me too, to keep doing videos.
I love how you embrace yourself!
Thankyou !
I LOVE that frame and the art inside each panel! It’s so fun to see all your different pieces, your different styles, your color palettes and textures as you shuffle through your works of art. I’m constantly pausing the video to get a better look! You’ve inspired me to try several new things…even art journaling, which I’ve never been interested in before. Thanks for sharing all the real, behind-the-scenes info with us. Can’t wait for your oracle deck!

Thank you so much!
I am currently making a watercolor affirmation deck for my daughters for Xmas. Using dollar tree kids cards with adhered watercolor paper and creating original watercolors. Such a fun project! I will have to look into the blank taro cards. 😊
Oooooh, this sounds beautiful, and so thoughtful. Great idea to adhere paper to an already made deck of cards! Brilliant. I was wishing the tarot card deck I'd purchased from Amazon had more of a watercolour feel. Still learning what supplies go best on that surface. Have fun creating your affirmation deck.:)
Just stumbled upon your UA-cam videos….you are sooooo talented and I love all the art you produce…I can’t wait for your Oracle Deck so I can order. So excited to have found you. Thank you for sharing.
I love your videos, I hope you keep making them. They inspire me to give myself permission to work on my art and allow myself my to follow my deep desire to be creative.

Hiya Allison,
I had no idea about the cold wax till watching you. Love your art and your positivity. The past few years have been beyond intense. I think we all suffer from some degree of mental health issues. Art really is therapeutic. Sometimes it’s the only way to still the mind. I suffer from anxiety same as you. Art supplies are definitely cheaper than therapy. Sometimes with greater results. Your voice is calming. Your art is inspirational. Happy to have found you. 💙🦋
thankyou !
Hi Allison, thanks for another video packed full of inspiration and ideas, as well as your infectious joy for watercolour and all things artistic. I have been experimenting with acrylic paint and achieved an effect very close to your own secret method. I watched a UA-cam painter called Bob Blast and if you think you're messy you need to watch this guy 😂. He has an enthusiasm for art just like you. Anyway I painted a background and vase on canvas in the style of Bob, then when it was dry I cut out flower shapes from the acrylic paint patterns, and collaged them onto the canvas, much like your wood panel. Since I've been watching your videos my desire to experiment and explore has really expanded, and I have multiple art projects in progress at any one time. The tips regarding oracle decks have been really useful and I continue to add to my own collection of artwork suitable for a deck based around dementia. I wish you every success with your own oracle deck, and look forward to your next video 😊 Thank you
For your frame, use a piece of masking tape, painter's tape. Start at one hook and put tape to other hook, (or go edge to edge on fram and mark where the hangers are) then you can put tape on wall, level it out, nail hanger or hooks, peel tape off and hang pic. Easy!
Oh, this is excellent. thank you for taking the time to share.
I absolute love your artwork and also the stonework paints. They are gouche. I like opaque best.
yes, Stoneground Paint Co. has beautiful quality, and I love that they are Canadian.
And I love the opaque look too.
Yes I am going to go to website. Do they ship to us
Thank you for all you share, Allison! I absolutely love your style and appreciate all the tips.
thankyou
Loved all of your work. For hanging your beautiful frame, grab some twine and run it through the two holes and put a knot and hang. You won’t have to measure and only use one wall nail. ❤
brilliant.! how did I not know this?! seems so obvious now. haha. thanks for watching and your tip!
Packing tape?!!? Who know?! That is amazing!! I love that!!
haha. i love it too!
Allison I really love your enthusiasm and creative mind. It's so inspiring and motivating to try out new things. Also to work on several paintings in one time. That keeps it flowing. Lots of love ❤
thankyou
Gorgeous gorgeous art❣️❣️🩷🩷🩷🩷

thankyou for your continued support.!
Another inspiring video filled with great tips and ideas. 💗 I have been anticipating your art deck and am so excited it will soon be available! 🎉 Thank you for showing the difference between Neocolours 1 and 2. Very helpful. I love watching your mark making and line drawing and would love to see more. I have rewatched some of your earlier videos focusing on that multiple times!
I like the harder edge..
thanks Barbara
another buffet...like a mouthwatering pack of lifesavers (old school here), each flavor jumps off the screen...
love your comments!
You can just connect a sting in those 2 hooks and hang your frame easy. 💗
yes! that’s so funny I never thought of that . thanks :)
You are so good, the not editing is genius, love your posts!
Hi Allison
Do you do any glazing in your work?
Painting over dry opaque colours with transparent colours
I like that you enjoy blending watercolour, i think its the essence of watercolour.
Glazing is great attribute of watercolour too.
I like to try and take advantage of its transparency when i can.
Its nice to see you work at your art again and get my ASMR fix too
Thankyou😊
i don’t do any glazing but I’d love to learn that. thanks for your insights and encouragement as always.😃
Beautiful work as always. I'm thinking a few packs of 300gsm watercolour postcards would make nice decks. I've certainly used them for small paintings in the past... I'm fairly sure some come blank on both sides. I love my neocolour 2's! If you use oil pastels, do you agree with Spectrafix over the top? Thanks Allison x Nell.
oil pastels- oh , there are so many and all with unique properties. I really can’t answer that… but i do use spectrafix over areas that i’m worried may smudge or bleed with varnishing… including black posca and neo colour 1s…. as well as chalk pastel or charcoal., but i am still learning. great idea about the postcards.
