I just installed the Alpha One kit (4 mids, 4 tweeters, 2 subs) on my Logic 7 equipped E87 130i.
Wow wow wow, I feel like I have a new car. The sound has gone from "decent" to "incredible" !

The speakers on my previous E90 330i M Sport and E60 530i M Sport were very average sounding. These look really nice - hope they sound good. The 12 speakers Bowers & Wilkins in my Jaguar XF S Portfolio is simply magnificent!

Great upgrade but something a lot of people are not aware of is that all new speakers need to be run in to get their optimum performance, that applies to any sound system, don’t just put them in and turn them up, increase the volume over a couple of weeks running them in, start around 40%.
Strange you say this because I have actually noticed them get even better lol

Planning to do the bellow seats change myself and I'm wondering if you haven't complicated a bit by removing the complete seats. What do you think of simply removing the 4 rail screws and then tilting the seat backwards? Wouldn't this give enough access?
Is it connected to professional cd or it has also amplifair? My car doesnt have tweeters. Could i connect them easy or i need cables and hard work?
Finally got my 118d back from the traders. "Never buy a car from bradford" told them all the codes all 10 of them. Only to get it back with just egr dpf clean. Runs better so will keep it for a while.The sound system as standard is pretty decent for a 14 yo car though, are these speakers better than the harmen karden?

Top job. I wonder if it's hard to code the standard radio which comes with the basic audio system, i.e. the system which doesn't have tweeters and amplifier. I also have to get the complete cable kit for a Hi-Fi system, because it will be a pain to modify the existing stock one. God, it is hard to modify these cars ...

Running a Hertz system in the R58 Mini, along with an Alpine E800 DSP amp... If you sound deaden the door and the door cards properly then the 6.5" are acting as the bass drivers, so no need for proper sub in the boot taking up space.

Literally just done this myself this last week. Came to realise my model had a glued in passenger side sub, and no sun under driver side at all, with zero wiring to go with it! So bought the black enclosures and fitted both and ordered the cable from bmw to retrofit later this week. Better be worth the hassle🥴

I changed my speakers as well for Bimmertech speakers, Alpha One. Sound much better. Just now i want an extra bass.

Hi George another great video mate. The speakers look amazing only downside you can’t see them when they are hidden behind the grills and under the seats.sound is pretty awesome how does it compare with the Harmon Logic 7 set up?
I haven’t heard Logic 7 to compare them to but apparently these are better than any factory BMW speakers👍🏻
@@GeorgeAusters my e92 has a Harmon Cardin set up I think there are 16 speakers in total. In settings you can go for Logic7 IIRC sounds amazing👍
Hi guys my 118d 2009 n47 cut out while driving now unable to find fault, have checked chain, changed glow plugs, glow plug relay, cam shatf sensor, crankshaft sensor, don't really know what to do it
First of all, check the fault codes. Look at some of DiagnoseDan's videos to learn how you proceed.
It's useless to guess, because the problems can be anywhere and of any sort. And many times "very simple".

You don’t NEED their amp, it works fine on the stock one but if you want to get even more performance, you can upgrade to their amp later down the line👍🏻

A question, George. When you listen music using an AUX, the loudness of sound is the same as listen radio? I've e60, but the sound is much quieter using AUX as listen to radio.
Yeah standard sound system on my e60 absolutely sucks to be honest
E60s have a resister for the aux input to stop you blowing your speakers, you can remove it though
@@GeorgeAusters I found a video where some guy took out sound resistors from his e61, 2008, but didn't work for mine. The sound didn't change after taking out resistors.

George, do you have Logic 7 in your bmw 760Li? If yes, can you compare the quality of booth? Because i thinking about retrofit my e60 with logic 7, it's much cheaper here in Slovakia, complete set (all speakers, amplifier, harness) from second hand for 400€..this bimmer set 1200$ only for speakers + shipping and taxes, it's very expensive..
@@matuskunik2068 I’ve heard reviews saying it’s better than Logic 7 and Harman Kardon.. used speakers may be cheaper but they’re old and may be a short time away from breaking👍🏻

Nah the idrive is CCC in these which uses a DVD drive in the dash👍🏻
I wasn’t sure I remember my e46 had a nav unit in the back

@@flippy9133 it depends on what you are listening because Logic 7 isn't working all the time ;) Try to watch a film on your iDrive system, you will be amazed ;)

P.s You wont feel it from USB/Aux/Radio. Only good artist CD's or DvD's. Best to use Concert DvD's.

@@GeorgeAusters you need to custom make a bracket on mine to fit aftermarket. The normal speaker have rivets as well
Think I’ll leave them, can’t make a huge difference. The big speakers are cracked tho due to age

Yes. The Harman Kardon set from BMW would cost A LOT more👍🏻

@@robciks1995 yes! For sure! I went for Match to the front speakers and Focal for rears, subwoofer and amplifier! That's a setup now!

@@robciks1995 let me know some details mate. I'm looking to upgrade from the base system that doesn't even have tweeters lol, it sounds like sh*t. I have a feeling my speakers might be a bit too old already as I noticed some distortion recently (that feeling/sound of a deteriorating membrane) and if I'm going to change anything, I might as well upgrade to something decent. I would love to get an amp + speakers and all that for about that 500€ mark you said 😅

@@GeorgeAusters Well the main audio source in the car doesnt change, it drops the levels on each channel from factory and it doesnt matter what kind of a amp you put in if the signal isn't flat out.
With a dsp amp, like Audison AP Bit 8.9 or APF 8.9 ( in my case) you can flat out the source signal, make endless tuning, add any type of new high res input sources, etc.
I have all of the speakers Stock with the audison APF 8.9 properly tuned and the speakers sound 10000 times better because of the proper tuning. Plus i added a sub in the trunk in a stealth box that doesnt make any difference in the trunk space. It gives a extra bass when its needed.
Eventually its best to soundproof the speakers placements - doors, floor etc. it will make even a better result in audio plus it will remove a lot of vibration.
That’s fair enough. I’m not really interested in doing extra non standard wiring though. I’m usually the person who rips all that out when I buy a car😅

BMW stereos are mostly dogshit. How they get away with it is beyond me.
Even the HK system in my old M140i wasn’t that great.
