Just curious, you told that you need 1 preset for oem head unit and another preset to run bluetooth through the Astell and Kern. Ive got a FIIO M11 which got the coaxial output and a dsp with coaxial input. For now, I play songs BT with FIIO directly to my dsp with a preset. With digital coaxial input, can I use same preset or I need to do another one ? Awesome install 👏🏻😍
Aloha Matt - I would really like to find out more about this system….only challenge is that I’m in Hawaii, but if you can ship the components and take a mini-work-cation we might be able to work out a win-win. Please let me know if interested.

Hi Matt. Excellent work well done. I am busy installing a Mosconi PRO 5/30 in a Mercedes E350 cabriolet. I currently have a Mobridge DA3 in the car but would like to change it for a DA2 with a Mosconi 4 to 6 DSP. On the Mobridge website they recommend a DA1 if you are using an external DSP. In which case I would use Mosconi 4 to 6 SP-DIF. The owner is not worried about adding an AMAS device. I am running the amp in a front, rear sub configuration with passives on the speakers (Focal Utopia Kit No.6 Passive front and Focal Utopia 165W-RC passive in the rear. Would you go with the DA1 or DA2? Look forward to hearing from you. Best regards. Rob
Where do you get the Mobridge interfaces? Are they not readily available in the US? All the car audio shops look at me with a confused look on there face in San Diego when I mention it for my HK in my F36.
would like to understand the process of configuring(software wise) the MoBridge... how do you separate and control the output of navigation and parking sensors..? Is it all accessible? can you do a walkthrough of that? Thank you
You can adjust the overall volume of the BT, NAV and sensors. The BT and Nav audio is automatically mixed into the front and the BU sensors are mixed into the rear already by the MoBridge.
Matt - great video, question with the amas 2 as a bluetooth receiver and the astel kern Aptx, the mosconi isn't? so is it really receiving apex. i really want to do this, also would have no problem running optical to mosconi from questyle/or aster kern or hard wire- aka achieve highest quality from dap. thank you learned a lot
Very nice work. I love how you did the install in the trunk of this car. I have a question for you however. I assume you listened to the car before and after. How do the Focal subs compare to the OEM Harman-Kardons? I have installed BMW F2x 2 Ohm Harman-Kardons on my Bimmertech (Match) PP82DSP amp at the moment and I am concidering changing them to the Focals. I have however had the Audio-System X-Ion 200 BMW subs in my previous car and they sounded not as good as the HK subs. I also tried the BMW individual subs in my current car and they also didn't sound as good as the HK's. These had better midrange but distorted easily in the low end on higher volumes. So I'm in doubt if there will be a significant change in sound to justify an additional 500€ for the Focals. Honestly I think not much more can be done with those little 8" from what the HK's allready do. I'm not installing a trunk sub so the subs do need to go as low as possible. I know some of those subs give better midrange at the cost of low end. But my goal is to get as decent a sound as possible without trunk subs. So I need a little low end from the underseat subs. Will the Focals be better for this or not? Thanks.
They sound a lot better. The OEM is really muddy. However, if you could make isolate the rattle from the seat belt tensioner (which you cannot) you could get a lot more midbass out of them.
Great job but wheres the spare tire? what do you recommend for lower budget e53 with dsp w/o navi I am having hardest time finding harnesses to clip on my dsp speaker harness for after market dsp amps i want an after market headunit .... with out re wiring the whole car
It didnt have a spare in that location from the factory. And who needs a spare in 2019 when you have roadside assistance free with most insurance programs. If you live in the desert, you may have an argument here.
Matt Schaeffer gotcha, I could have sworn I read it had an aux battery. So the stock charging system cam handle all of those Mosconi amps? Interesting.
I have a 2001 E38 BMW do you know or install any Head Unit multimedia touchscreen. They have an Avin-3 unit out there, haven't seen any DIY, Any recommendation. Thanks
I have a 2019 bmw x3 G01 chassis. Do those tweeters snap directly in or is there slight modification? Im currently running Bavsound PnP all around with 4 Jl woofers in the trunk. Thinking about switching the front components with the Focal es100k
Email me at matt@sound-fx.net with specifics if you want a quote. I dont know what a similar job consists of or what JL products you want. Let alone what your goals of the system are. I need much more information.
You say Cowboy, yet some of your own videos show major fire hazards and shoddy work. How good is the Merc Van reverse camera install with the wire that has been burnt to strip back the sheath, did you plan to wrap another wire arround it, solder and use electrical tape to cover it (not even able to use shrink-wrap, and too lazy to follow the cabling back to the loom-plug, you could have modified the plugor even installed an intercept-plug with your extra wire so you can reverse the install later and not have to damage the stock loom. And you have the hide to call someone elses work "cowboy". what about the HIT setup, wiring everywhere, cable ties holding the balast just hanging from another wire-loom, you do realise that the balast is desided to be mounted flat, not just hanging in the air....

Nice build, attention to details, and explanation as well. Thanks for sharing.
Great job Matt. Love the stealth look!
Thanks Adam!
bro, your video got suggested from my video. You're stealing my heat!!! Lol, looks great man! Glad to see you're doing more work with the new move.
Kind of like art, this. And thanks for finding another background track. The old one was getting on my nerves lately.
I switched it up because you are someone else mentioned it on the last video. I listen! lol
Magnificent as always Matt

Beautiful install, but not an M. X5 with M sport trim. What manufacturer was the system in it?
Watching this on 2022 have you done any audio system upgrades on E70s with today’s technology?
I want you to mine the exact same way! How much was this?
Amazing work!

Outstanding.

Want this done to my f83 m4
Awesome install! How long did the install take? I'm considering making the drive up from Tampa for you to do an install in my '12 X5
Love your work. I'm trying to do my own enclosure so my question is will adding led lights in my port cause noise?
Thank you for the compliment. And to answer your question.....no, not if they are secured properly.
Looks great but seems like a lot of extra weight. I wonder if he used lightweight materials.
I'm curious, why completely eliminate the center channel? With the obstacles of the system wouldn't a center help?
You need an upmixer for a center channel to function properly.
This is insane. Big budget though I bet

How long does the average project take to design/construct, as well as to install?
