Hey, I know you guys probably won't see this. I'm in 8th grade, really haven't approached running. I've always wanted to get better. I'm just starting and looking for some tips. Currently, my times are: 400m - 1:15 1 Mile: 6:05 2 Mile: 12:40 5k: Unknown Goals are: 400m - 1:00 1 Mile: 5:20 2 Mile: 11:00 5k: 18:00 Do you have any tips for me to get there? I eat quite a lot, but I'm fairly skinny at 5'8 and 120lbs, and I was wondering if that was too light. Also, for those who don't have access to gyms, what leg workouts are beneficial? Thank you so much, and great job with the race!
your goals don't really match, running an 11 minute 2 mile is a lot harder than running a 5:20 mile, and running a 1:10 400m is a lot easier than any of those goals up there
I’m 5’10 115 lbs and am looking to run sub-9-50 and sub 4-40 for 3200 and 1600 this year so your weight is fine. Also with what other people said about those goals being varied difficulties that’s generally true but you need to find what races you’re better at. Like based on my 1600 and 3200 times I should be able to run sub-2:10 800 pretty easily but my best is only 2:11 some people just have lots more endurance and less speed than other
I'm a freshman from Australia and the goal this xc season is to stay injury free and I think if I can do that then I can do well at nationals since I have been struggling with injuries and little niggles over the past 2 years. Btw love Lex's design of his Vaporfly's, the colours on there are actually the same colours as my AFL team the Richmond Tigers.
This is my coach's last year training us, so everything we do is dedicated partially to him. I'm gonna qualify for the BYU Invitational in the 800 this year.
2:06 as a freshman is a very good time. I finished my freshman year off at 2:12 and go down to 1:51 senior year in high school. Stayed at 1:51 until my senior year in college when I finally got down to my best 1:47. No, I’ve been training my son high school runner
I switched to running after 10 years of baseball this past summer thanks to motivation from you guys. It's my sophomore season and first time doing track and I want to go 4:20 in the 1600m, 9:25 in the 3200m, and 1:58 in the 800m.

When they got into college they burned out and got injured a lot be cause of the program they ran for didn't take care of them. Alan Webb is a example. I hope and pray that all of the runners at Newberry High School continue to get better and will be injury free.

Very good racing! Amazing and inspiring watching you guys achieve great things. I am a sophomore trying to run 4:30 in the mile and 2:00 in the 800 this track season!
Many decades ago I was a young, semi-talented runner. 4:28.3 mile as a Junior. 1:58.2 880 and 54.0 4x440 relay split as a Senior. One week the coach got mad at me and put me on the JV 4x110 relay team. While all of my running friends laughed, they laughed even harder when I smoked the kid on the other team.
I would describe myself just like you did. Pretty similar times in late 70s. Funny to think of ourselves as semi-talented compared to these kids. Race bicycles now - semi talented at that also.
I’m hoping to break 11:00 in the 2 mile and break 5 in the mile as a freshman with limited meets left it’s slowly winding down but also these guys are unreal glad to know the future of running is in great hands
Amazing races all around I've always wondered why do you guys prefer running in the Dragonflys and not the Victories for the mile is it cushion, performance, feel, I need to know I have both and use the victs for 800 and shorter and dragonflys for the 3200 But I don't know what to use for the 1600.

Hey, I know you guys probably won't see this. I'm in 8th grade, really haven't approached running. I've always wanted to get better. I'm just starting and looking for some tips. Currently, my times are:
400m - 1:15
1 Mile: 6:05
2 Mile: 12:40
5k: Unknown
Goals are:
400m - 1:00
1 Mile: 5:20
2 Mile: 11:00
5k: 18:00
Do you have any tips for me to get there? I eat quite a lot, but I'm fairly skinny at 5'8 and 120lbs, and I was wondering if that was too light. Also, for those who don't have access to gyms, what leg workouts are beneficial? Thank you so much, and great job with the race!
The best way to improve is to run more and gradually increase weekly mileage
your goals don't really match, running an 11 minute 2 mile is a lot harder than running a 5:20 mile, and running a 1:10 400m is a lot easier than any of those goals up there
Increase mileage. I started running in late July last year with a 7:00 mile but with consistent mileage I got to a 4:49 1600 and a 10:20 3200
@@unoriginal8697 wow that's pretty awesome. I just managed to break 6 in the mile but can barely hold 5 flat pace for 1 lap
This season I want to break 4:40 in the 1600, and 2:00 in the 800. Love the content guys!
I’m a junior by the way
This is my coach's last year training us, so everything we do is dedicated partially to him. I'm gonna qualify for the BYU Invitational in the 800 this year.
Good luck! BYU was my favorite meet to run in
Ima freshman just ran 2:06 tonight hoping to do even better later this season. @L&L love your vids y’all inspire me💪
2:06 as a freshman is a very good time. I finished my freshman year off at 2:12 and go down to 1:51 senior year in high school. Stayed at 1:51 until my senior year in college when I finally got down to my best 1:47. No, I’ve been training my son high school runner
@@RavishingSailor that’s crazy, yah if I got under 1:51 that’d be lit, our school record is 1:51
Do you guys plan on going to Nike Outdoor Nationals this year? Or perhaps any outdoor national meet?
most likely new balance because they did indoor new balance
@@maxwang2562 They could do running lane though they did say they really liked their xc championship
@@mr.stepbro6422 running lane is only xc
@@maxwang2562 Actually running lane is also having a track championship!
I switched to running after 10 years of baseball this past summer thanks to motivation from you guys. It's my sophomore season and first time doing track and I want to go 4:20 in the 1600m, 9:25 in the 3200m, and 1:58 in the 800m.
I can’t wait for every new video of yours and I can’t wait to see the one of you both breaking 4 in the mile! I live in England and can only sit in awe of the cool race courses and trails you guys get to run on. I’m hoping to go around 2:02 for 800 this season and break 16:30 in the 5k being year 10 ( a freshman ) I’ve just started to take running really seriously and can’t wait to get better!
What Leo and Lex lack in stride and glide compared to Nico or Colin they make up for in strength and determination. Their grit astounds me!
Up until my junior year of high school I’ve been a basketball player, but this year after participating in cross country and track I have found a love for running and am pursuing a future in it in college. This channel inspires me to keep pushing my limits and try my best at everything I do.
As a seventh grader my pr was a 5:35 and started to prepare for the races better and my pr is 5:08 as qualified for state and miracle mile. My friend did too
wow! you guys just continue to impress the world congratulations
I am very impressed and congratulations to him. As a former Runner at Oregon, I saw a lot of good High School runners running sub 4 or better. When they got into college they burned out and got injured a lot be cause of the program they ran for didn't take care of them. Alan Webb is a example. I hope and pray that all of the runners at Newberry High School continue to get better and will be injury free.
Y’all are so fast it’s hard to believe it’s real. Like it feels like a TV show. Y’all inspire me to push harder and run faster!
"super easy 12 miles" proceeds to run at god speed
u guys are the most adorable people ever and have such bright energy!
I watch your videos alot I am in middle school and have Pr after watching your what to eat video thx guys keep up the good work!
I have a big race today hopeing to brake my recoord and hit a 5:55 mile I have been doing alot of good running and you guys have showed a good example how you do it
You guys are so wise beyond your years. Love watching you guys and you inspire to keep my running career going!
This season I hope to break 4:50 in the mile, 2:10 in the 800, and 55 in the 400! Love your videos Leo and Lex!
Great video Leo & Lex! Awesome watching your journey in running! Keep getting after it!
Becoming part of My Favorite 5 Triathlon training mix. 💯
I found you guys literally last night and you're definitely my favorite run channel!
I want to break 15 in the 5k this season. Love the content L&L! 4:20 is not fast for a high school mile!!
4:20 is very fast for a high school mile these guys are the best of the best and they were getting 4:13
@@q12aw50 exactly. Sub 4:20 will put you at least top 10-20 in just about any state.
A mile in 4:00.77. Thats gotta be... really infuriating. So close to that 3:5X
Just means he's closer to it
Sophomore this year, hoping to break 2 in the 800 and hit mid to low 4:30 for the mile. Training real hard and trying to go to penn relays on my 4x800 team in a couple weeks💪
Good job to all Newberry Park athletes. You all did so well. Thank you for another amazing video, never disappoints.
That was a motivational run! I have commented before: I am 69 years old and just started running again after the craziness of the last 2 years. This is nothing to you guys but I have a 5 k this weekend and it will be fun with the other old geezers🤣
Prior competitive runner here. I’m no where near close to where you guys are or are going but it’s fun to watch you guys smash records. Can’t wait to see what all you guys can do in the future!
Another awesome episode! 😊☘️💥
I’m not a distance runner but I love watching you guys I’m I’m only a freshman and I’m trying to get under 11.6 in the 100 and under 24.4 in the 200 I have bad leg pains after big workouts I hope I win to help my recovery. Love the content keep it up ❤️
You guys are always so inspirational and up lifting. Thanks for making amazing content!
im hoping to break 5:00 this season thanks for keeping up the amazing videos!
The fact that Leo was smiling coming in on the 16 was crazy
What is in the water in Newbery Park? Even your upcomers are fast!!!! Great job to all of you.
So no one is gonna mention the clean asf griddy at 4:20
👆
Plan for szn is sub 4:30 for mile, 9:30 for 2mile, 2:05 for 800, qualify in the 2mile for state, and run 8:05 for our 4x800 team. As well stay healthy during the szn.
Damn that’s about what i’m running this season, what state are you in?
You guys are my inspiration and motivation to really give it my all during track practices, thank you!
Its insane to think that I see these dudes almost everyday because I'm on the track team.
I'm in 8th grade and I hope to run sub 10:40 2mile and 4:50 mile! I love this channel! So inspiring!
impressive asf bro, u gonna be big if u keep it up
I am near you, and also in 8th grade, I am more of a mile and 800 guy, I am also training for a sub 5 mile.
Hopefully this Saturday, it will happen.
@@williamsmith1451 nice! Yah, I prefer longer 1600m+ great job tho!
@@therealjaxonsmith thanks & good luck
@@williamsmith1451 seams like if you have smith ur good at young I’m in eith grade with 5:20 lol
I’m a freshman and my two main goals for the end of track season are a sub 9:32 (3200) and a sub 4:35 (1600).
hoping to run the middle school Nike nationals standard tomorrow and you guys have been a big help in motivating me to reach this goal
Good luck!
@@LLexandleovloggs meet got canceled because of shooting
Cooper teare never broke 4 in HS let that sink in
K nor did tons of other great runners. Only 13 ever have
Very good racing!
This 4x800 has to be crazy
Extremely impressive running from this crew! I'm shooting to break the school record for 5k & 10k and qualify for NCAAs
I’m hoping to break 11:00 in the 2 mile and break 5 in the mile as a freshman with limited meets left it’s slowly winding down but also these guys are unreal glad to know the future of running is in great hands
My goal is stay make it all the way through the season HEALTHY! I’ve struggled with injuries over these past few seasons but so far so good 😁
Amazing races all around I've always wondered why do you guys prefer running in the Dragonflys and not the Victories for the mile is it cushion, performance, feel, I need to know I have both and use the victs for 800 and shorter and dragonflys for the 3200 But I don't know what to use for the 1600.
hope to qualify for state individually and also with a relay. hoping to bring home another state championship
Dude these vids are amazing I’m a freshman and just went 4:45 keep up the great work
4:45 as a freshman puts you in a good place, you would be no.1 on my team.
Wow y'all are crazy!!! I watched you guys run at the Huntsville meet where y'all ran sub 14:10 and that was absolutely insane! I'm hoping to get sub 18:30 this coming XC season and y'all definitely help motivate me!
Dang almost sub 4, impressive. I’m just tryna break 4:30 in the 16 and sub 2:05 in the 8. Quality content.👍
Congrats guys keep the videos coming who’s the new runner with you
Congrats Gents on your fine racing again 🙂👍🏃♂️🙂👍🏃♂️. Fabulous times…. !!!
Never Never stop running and staying in shape …… always try and have fun in life no matter what you do ( job, running career, life in general, etc.). Get that college degree ( when the time comes ) doing something you’ll always enjoy 👍.
My ultimate goal is my first 50k trail race….. and I’ll get it done 💪🏃♂️.
For this season, my main goal is to have fun with it, I've taken running really seriously and I just want to take a step back and enjoy the sport:)
could you do a video of what you eat on a training day?
Great job on the video and great job on the race!!! It’s awesome to have those goals when your on that level of competition. I have my own goal of breaking 2.15 in the 800 by the end of outdoor season.
I hope to break 4:40 for the mile and for cross season i hope i could break 16:30 and what was the song you played when you guys were stretching for the mile i liked the music.
I hope to run somewhere in the 5:20s range for my mile split this weekend :/ I’m running the varsity 4xmile and just want to get better as soon as possible to help the team
Hoping to go sub 4:35 and place in state as a junior. Got hurt in the first meet last year and never had a freshman season so really trying to make the most out of what I got
cereal buff probably got you there
