I love this pattern. Chemo has taken my hair this hat won't be hot. Thank you so much. God bless
I’ve made this hat three times now in the span of 2 weeks! Twice for me and once for my mom and I *cannot* get enough of it. I’ve used Lily sugar and cream for all three hats and they’ve come out great!! Like a mix between a beanie and a sun hat and it’s perfect. ❤️
I used a bulky 6 weight yarn, and it came out great. I think I will make another one, but I think I might have the brim of the hat a different color. Thanks, Crystal, for the really cute pattern.
a bulky 6 weight yarn ? BRILLIANT !!! Thank you for posting this, Yolanda, it encouraged me to use the thicker yarn. What was the brand that you used ?
Hi love your idea, whick hook did you use? Thanks!😊
Which size hook did you use for the bulky 6 weight? Just found some bulky scraps that would be nice for this hat
L
Hello, Crystal. I will be making this hat since I haven't made anything of yours lately. I will be using Mainstay yarn. I will make sure to post the pics when I'm finished. Thanks for being a good yarn teacher of many products
Hi Crystal, love the hat. I’m trying to make it with Cascade Pima/tensel. If it works I’ll post a picture.
Hy Crystal. Thanks for the video. Love you and your work.
Looks really nice.
I’ve never made a hat but I’m thinking I might.
Happy mothers Day Crystal💜
I love this bucket hat. I would use the cotton yarn because I don’t care for the feel of acrylic on my head. Thanks for sharing, Crystal
Literally saw the thumbnail, ran to the yarn store and now back home and ready to make this hat! So cute!! It jumped in front of all my other projects!!
I'm going to make this right away too! I'll get the yarn tomorrow!
Well, I do have 2 skeins of 4 weight pink Bernat already though. Hmm. We'll see.
I can honestly say I've not seen a crocheted hat I like better than this one!! I love making hats and am excited knowing it's easy! Very nice creation!
I made your bucket hat and you made it easy to follow...thank you
I used "I Love This Cotton" brand, color Eastern Nova...it came out beautiful
I just made this hat as a Birthday gift and it turned out beautiful. Definitely going to make one for me next
Just finished one using some old clearance stash of Yarn Bee Denim in Color (50/50 blend). It's pretty, but my brim does not look like yours. Not as "stiff" or straight. It's as though you can still see the increase "waves" in it. I may try another with a smaller hook. Thanks for always providing really great instructions!
Crystal this hat was fun and quick to work up...thank you for this pattern.
I really love the color and the pattern, nice bucket hat, perfect for this time of year. Thanks so much for sharing!
I use 5 weight yarn single strand 6mm hook, followed the pattern until the last few rows. I increased rounds 4 times instead of 3, and use mini bean stitch to finish the edge. It turned out perfect. Edge is firm, not rolling 😊
Thank u for this great pattern ❤
Wow thank you crystal love is sun hat . hopefully I have the strain of doing all the colors to I have a brain tumor that is pretty horrible and pain I want to do some hats even though I am a freak for hats but love this bucket hat is so awesome thank you so much Crystal you don't know what it means to me God bless you and God bless your family
Love this pattern. Going to make it using cotton. Thank you for the tutorial.
The best tutorial I have found yet!!! Thanks. I love it.
Love this!!! Bucket hats are having a comeback from the 90's, can't wait to rock this style again! I'll probably use cotton since I have some leftover from a previous project.
And before that the 70's!!!!!
Can you use a single strand of a size 5 yarn?
I LOVE this hat, it is sooo cute! Looks good on you, Crystal! I cannot wait to make this in all the Spring colors ♡♡♡
Hi, Crystal! I’m on Round 10… brim time! Thank you for this lovely pattern; fun to work up! Have a wonderful weekend!!! ⚓️💙
I love this pattern Crystal. Have to make me one and some for my granddaughters! Woohoo let's do this ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
I love this pattern. ❤ With slight adjustments I can make doilies, market bags and baskets as well as bucket hats. I used peaches and cream cotton yarn with a 6mm hook. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to send you a picture, but trust me my hat looks great.
I love this,I definitely will be making this. I'm going to make one for myself and for my granddaughter. I'm going to use cotton.
Can't wait to make this for my neighbour. She had operatio on head and she has pain. Loose fitting had is ideal to keep sun off and with brim to shade her eyes as she can't wear glasses for some reason. Thank you.
My first time working with two strands. I usually end up pulling my new projects out several times until I actually have it down. This one is no different but I am going to get it . I am excited to see the results. Thank you for the tutorial. You are awesome 🎉
This was super helpful, I’ve been wondering how to make a bucket hat with a stiff brim, I never thought of double stranding
I really like this hat. I want to make for me and my granddaughter. I think I'll try cotton but I like the sparkly acrylic too. Cute pattern. Thanks for the tutorial!
Lavender looks good on you! It’s sunhat season fs and this design is pretty ❤
Can't wait to try this hat. It's perfect to wear camping to keep the sun off my face
Another great hat. My great-granddaughter will be thrilled, she loves this style.
Love it, I've got loads of different cotton yarns that I never knew what to do with... but now I do! 👍🤗
I love this hat. I just finished it in bright yellow. And I love the border. Thank you for the pattern
I made this hat, with the trim. I used red heart super saver. It's very stiff an comfortable. ❤ thank you for sharing with us❤❤❤❤ 14:11
I really love this one. It is so beautiful and will be fun to make. Thank You for another great video!
This will be perfect for my good friend! Thank you ,Crystal for another great pattern!
Recently had surgery, and haven't felt like doing much crochet, but this definitely might be just what I need to get me going again🙂 I have watched a lot of your videoes ,but haven't commented on them and I know it helps you more if I say something. So I apologize for only watching the past couple of weeks. Love you, thanks for everything. ❤🌈⚘
I think I'll try using cotton and using two different colors. I really like that hat, I'm a hat person to. I'll try to remember to post the finished project.
Love this pattern. ❤
My first successful bucket hat! Very easy to follow and great for stash busting. Thank you!!
Thank you again Crystal! I think I’m going to make this to wear on Mother’s Day Sunday and make it match my poncho! I like the mainstay yarn. I do have the red metallic but think I’m going to use another color. Thank you for making and sharing patterns so unselfishly:-)
INDEED !!! What a giving soul is our Beloved Creative Capable Compassionate Crystal !!!
Boy, I am not a hat person, but after having this tutorial going while I am working on a winter beanie for myself I don't think I can resist giving it a go. It's so cute and so easy and I have some plain pink and white Red Heart Super Saver for practice I no longer need so I think it will be a fun "practice for real" project. Thanks! You are the best teacher ❤️
Hi Crystal love the hat it’s so cute also loving that you don’t need any wire as I would find that a little tricky for me. Love to all your family , missing them so much ! ❤️🤎
Hi Crystal I love this hat I am going to make it in a few different colors for.summer and look at some of your other hat patterns also I am going to be starting chemo again for 6 months so I will need to make lots of hats. Have a wonderful weekend! ❣️😊🌺
Donna, I'm so sorry to hear that. But as a cancer survivor I know finding hats that can make you feel better seem hard to find. Just keep thinking positive thoughts it helps. I'll keep you in my prayers and thoughts. Sending you a couple extra Angels 😇 😇 along with a hug.🤗
Hi Crystal! I absolutely love this pattern! As usual a great tutorial, and I can’t wait for the next hat tutorial. I’ve made most of your hat patterns and I love them all! Thank you for all your hard work! Have a great day everyone! 🙂❤️🌼
Hello Crystal, sincerely THANK YOU ! BOD to the rescue once again lol this morning I went to my sons elementary school award assembly and at the end he introduced me to a very sweet young lady (a classmate) when she ran off to go find her friends (lol) he quickly leaned in to tell me her favorite color is turquoise and she would love to have a bucket hat for Valentine's Day !!!!
Thanks to your awesome tutorial. I was able to work up this hat in a few hours. By the time he gets home from school today he will have his turquoise bucket hat to gift on Valentine's Day. I truly appreciate your quality content. Thank you 🧶🧡
I’m gonna make this hat for the beach 🏖 I’m using acrylic 🧶 thank you so much
I made the hat out the eco-cozy watercolors yarn bulky 6 from Michaels. I truly love hiw it came out. Thank you again Crystal happy crocheting.💫
Hello Crystal. I just finished making one for my 8 year old grand daughter. It came out beautiful. Thank you for your tutorials. Have a blessed and productive day.
I love this tutorial! It is such a pretty hat and I love the yarn you used. I don't usually wear a hat but because of some medicines I take I can't be out in the sun for too long and this hat would be perfect in keeping the sun out of my eyes and face. I think it looks very pretty on you too! Thank you for a great tutorial!
Thank you Crystal, I love this! I will be making it with Caron cotton cakes. I have been looking for a pattern like this for years. This will be my permanent summer hat pattern now. Here in Perth Western Australia we get very hot and long summers and my family will certainly benefit from this pattern. Thank you so much.
Started making this hat. Hope it comes out like yours....thanks Crystal.
Wow….this hat came out great! I used a bulky 5 tweed acrylic with 6 mm hook. Slightly large on top but looks great! I’m going to make another with doubling the 4 weight cotton! Thank you, Crystal!
I’ve been looking for a Sun hat for my daughter and granddaughter!! Thanks so much!!
I’ve made this hat 3 times now. I’ve only used acrylic but will try with cotton. I enjoy making this hat. Thanks Crystal!
I’m Gonna use a white sparkle. As I am going to use it as a summer hat I do not want anything too dark. Just ordering well now
I sure hope I can do this. This hat is so darn cute. I've never made a hat.
It’s so easy to follow, Crystal is a great teacher!
Thank you for this tutorial. I just made this hat and love it!
Yes I finally made it I made two one for my daughter and one for my grandchild for fourth of July red white and blue they love them enjoy doing this hat
Why do I waste time looking for tutorials all over the web when I know you have the best. Love this one!
O my! I have the sweet violet, taupe splash & the rose fume, & teal. Now to pick which color I want my hat to be....finished mine. I chose the taupe sparkle. Love it! Thank u Mrs Bod!
I just finished my hat. I made mine with Mainstays cotton in Blue Shell. I used a size 5 hook(22 inch head) 5.5 was working up too big for me . I really love how it turned out! Thank you Crystal you are a great teacher! ❤
Hi Crystal I love this tutorial. I made this bucket hat out of 100 percent cotton peaches and creme and color is emerald energy. You are such a wonderful teacher. Thank you for all the new mystery boxes you have been opening and all the new tutorials. I could watch you all day.
I made a mistake somewhere.mine is way too big. But I will keep it. Nit perfect but nice. I made rhis one white. You and Passiionkint Kelsie are my best . Hola. Maria and my spoiled doggie Tiny Land from Phoenix Arizona.
Hi Crystal. I just got done making the hat it came out great. You made it so easy to follow. Thank you Crystal my granddaughter is going to love it. Now I have to make one for my other granddaughter. See you later
I'm going to go dig in my yarn supply and made this adorable bucket hat. Love the stitch and yarn color you chose, really looks good on you.
I made this with cotton and it turned out great. Gave it to a friend who really loves it!
Thank you so much for sharing this is so beautiful
You have the most beautiful and easy to follow patterns. Thank you so much and God bless you.
I was wrong I don't have that yarn. It's a dark color. Will need to use a lighter color yarn than I have, I haven't been able to work in the round but I am going to. You explain it muich better and I can see what your actually doing. Thank you again
Just finished my Sun hat!! Fun, easy and quick. My daughter is taking me camping for Mother's day so I thought I should make a hat!! Thanks Crystal.
Lol! Well, I just finished this hat even though I had internet problems JUST as I got to the last row.
I couldn’t absolutely remember how to finish it but I remembered a tutorial that I had seen-even though I was not sure who did it ? I ended with one strand and sc, chain 3, sc in next sc……..very different-but still cute. Picture to follow……lol. !
Hi Crystal! I love the hat. Going to make a few of these. Thank you so much for all your tutorials 💗
Beautiful hat. I found my 2 Hero hooks and I now understand. Thanks, I learned how to crochet at 8 year old with an inline hook which I still have at 60. Never used the other hooks until I watched you.
Amazing how easy you make patterns to follow. Complete beginner. I made this hat with acrylic. And now I am making another with 100% cotton with smaller needle. Thank you so much
Love the edging I think I will use my multicolor orange brown and a light orange
So sweet I made one for my daughter and me and used baby yarn made a couple for the grand baby's thank you so much for your hard work and beautiful things you make God bless stay safe
Very cute, I want to go out and get cotton yarn now. I have other yarn at home but I want it to be cooler for summer. I love that sparkle yarn though. Thanks, Crystal
What a pretty little sun hat 👒. I was surprised that you used 2 stands of yarn. This looks like a nice project for me to make for my mom. Thank you for the tutorial.
Thank you , Crystal🙂 I was just thinking if I used (real) wool & the crochet turned out too big it would be a chance to experiment with felting it!!-just wash it in warm soapy water till it becomes smaller & sturdier. The pattern would still be apparent… Your hat reminded me how V trendy the hat is after the European song competition😁 can’t wait to find pink yarn soon! Best wishes from Australia -“Stay Safe”🧶💓 J C
Absolutely beautiful hat!!! Great idea with double pieces of yarn. I can't wait to make this hat. Thanks for sharing your talents with us!
I'm going to make this for vacation time. I may not get to vacation but it's excellent for anytime. I can make 2 and keep one in my suitcase so I don't misplace it. I need to wear hats as I get sun poison easily. Thanks for a nice and easy hat pattern and being a great teacher. 🤗😇
Hi Mrs BoD! hope you don't mind, but I did a "stitch-a-long" to your tutorial. As a new crocheter, I had to undo a lot of times, until I learned the LOOK of each stitch. But --- Mine will look almost as pretty as your purple sparkly one! Mine was done with some free yarn, copper & cream doubled with a strand of copper. Each ball was a skinny 2, cotton/silk shiny like a penny! Can't wait to show it off! GREAT tutorial!
Hi Crystal
Thanks for the awesome Hat!
I will eventually be making a hat with a brim, but until then I’m looking forward to our next summer so I can make this one!
That’s brilliant!!!
Crystal I'm gone make this tomorrow . I've been looking for these hats for a friend will love it will should go pretty quick will try to take a picture to send you
Just made my second one of these hats. Thank you Crystal!!🤗🤗
It's a great hat, I will probably make his when I have time. I have a long list of projects that I have lined up to do.
I'm very new to crocheting - only made 2 1/2 blankets so far, but I followed this tutorial and made 2 of these hats today. The first one turned out a bit small because the yarn was a 3 weight doubled up instead of 4, but it looked good. So I made another with 2 balls of 4 weight and it turned out perfect.
Thank you for the tutorial :)
I used two skeins of the ice cream yarn from lion brand it it turned into the cutest bucket hat! Thank you crystal!
Just finished my had. Added more rows to the brim. Love it! Don’t know how to share picture
Love this hat. Making it right now out of a ribbon type yarn. I live the edging. Thank you for the tutorial!
Crystal, I really like this hat and pattern. I hope to try it in the not to distant future and will post a picture of the finished piece. Thank you so much for posting this.
Gorgeous colour you used for a gorgeous bucket hat
Loved making this hat! Thank you so much for a great pattern Crystal. As I did not have enough cotton, I used a chunky acrylic yarn (Elle - a South African yarn) in Ecru, held together with gold stelina thread for a bit of sparkle. 🤗💕
I am going to try make this hat. I am losing my hair from chemo and it's starting to get warm here... summer will be rough to cover my head.. this is adorable!! I am new to crocheting so we'll see if I can do it... I have never been able to do anything but flat, squares etc (dish cloths, blankets and scarves) this may be a challenge. Idk if I can use two at a time. Wish me luck! It's my weekend project lol I love that yarn and actually have some I grabbed on sale a few weeks ago .
Really liked the way this hat turned out. Will put it on my list of things I want to make.
Thanks Crystal. Love this hat and no wire!🤗 I will be making this for my 3 granddaughters. 💖
I like this hat. I think I’m going to use that edge in the blanket I’m currently working on. Thank you!!
I love the hat,I will be making one, in wal- mart yarn like what you are using.
This is so pretty! I can't wait to make it
Yes, this just jumped ahead of my projects. So i will be making. I like the idea of using cotten. Thank you for such a cute hat.
So I made this hat and I absolutely love it.
However because I have a rather large head, I worked rows 1-5 with a J hook, then rows 6-15 with the I hook.
First time ever I’ve had a hat that actually fits me. I’m overjoyed
Thank You 🦋🌸🦋
