I have made 2 of these hats in last 2 weeks, 1 using the same yarn (Laté stripe) the other in yarn similar to Red Heart’s Green tones. I love them both but the green one makes me think of long lettuce leaves like romaine or something, a friend called it “Very hippie dippie” for him this is the best compliment ever given! If I’d made the top of the hat yellow it would look like a big green sunflower. Anyway I am new to crochet, started 3 weeks ago so if I can make this hat… this lady is a damn good teacher!!!
Question, did you follow the tutorial exactly and was the hat too big for you? I saw someone complain that it turns out to big and I just want to make sure I don’t have to change the pattern.
Problem I'm having. This hat is waayyyy too big for my head. I'm on the first row of the brim, and the body of the hat is swimming on my head. I'm using a 3.5 mm hook and Red Heart yarn. (edited a few hours later), I unwound the hat up to round 7 and then made the hdc's until I got to 7 inches. Now making the brim, and it is coming out beautiful! It fits perfect, too. Thank you!
Hey question. When you went through for the DC, did you do yarn over or yarn under? Because I’ve just noticed I’m doing yarn over instead of yarn under like she did and that could be why it ended up larger.
I just watched the video again and I’ve noticed that she is doing yarn under. It makes a difference in size. Yarn under is tighter than YO. I will do it in YU.
I have been making bucket hats and wanted something a little feminine. This is a great pattern. I appreciate you showing the making of this one. I will try it out. I have a cousin who wants me to make a hat for her. Thank you. Great work.
I made 3 hats using this pattern! They turned out amazing. The first two were taken away so I kept the third for myself. Thank you for the lovely pattern. So easy to follow👌🏼
I wanted to make my ma a hat, because she had hats that she made, loom knitted, so I thought it would be fun to crochet one for her. A nice hat for summer days. Really beautiful and stunning to look at. I hope she'll like it. I'll let you know once I give it to her. Edit: my ma loves it. Now my dad and a friend asks me to make one for them.
Simple and beautiful! I love this.. The way you are explaining is very clear , easy to understand.. I crocheted this one.. It's exactly comes as shown in the video .. Thanks for wonderful design..
I love your Design! I actually love wearing hats that cannot be found in stores. With the detailed Brim, it will be one of a kind!!! Thank you for sharing your inspirational design!!!
Just so awesome thank you so much for this pattern . I had the same yarn and didn’t know what to do with the last of it and I came across your hat and crocheted it in the same color way so cool 🤗💖
I just found your video. I have the same exact yarn your using. I'm going to make more of these hats in different colors to. You make it so easy to do even without talking. Love it! Thanks so much!
I bought a different color group of yarn, like the one you have here, but it didn't go well on my afghan. I didn't know what to do with it. I will use it for this! Thanks!
made the hat, used the 3.5mm hook and the same color and brand of yarn. Just before the brim (drape) of the hat it measures out at 26 inches, I don't know anyone that could wear this size and keep it on their head. Nice hat but so VERY, VERY LARGE.
The video instruction is misleading at the hdc part. She says hdc til it measures 7 inches but she means from the top of the hat, not from where the hdc starts. I learned that mistake the hard way. Oh and using cotton yarn makes it way big
OMG! What a beautiful hat! I just came across your channel and I will definitely be making one or maybe a few. ☺️ Thank you for sharing your craft in such detail and a very easy to follow tutorial. 🌹🌹🌹
Hello. This is so cute. Your instructions are awesome. I am using the 3.5mm hook, however the hat seems kind of large, and will probably need more than one skein, and crocheting tightly. ANy suggestions, besides using a smaller hook size?
Hi I know this video was made a while ago but hoping someone can tell me how many stitches you’re supposed to end up with after the row of hdc. Is it 96 or are you skipping the first one so it’s 95? Also are you skipping the first one where the marker was on every row? Thank you!!
I am in the process of making this hat, have followed everything to the letter but the head circumferance is way to big. There isn't any mention in the tutorial about measuring the head. Absolutely love this hat so I'm determined to figure this out. Any suggestions
I am trying to make this and I might be the only one who wasn't able to follow along perfectly. Your instructions were great 👍 The problem I'm having or the question I have rather, is when you switch to the HDC rounds, are you supposed to skip the first stitch every time you start a new round? Forgive my ignorance.
Good evening... I love this video and your instructions are so amazing, but I'm also stuck on this part... Are there supposed to be 96 stitches of the HDC rows? I've lost 4 stitches😖.... HELP! Thank you.
I love this hat. I want to make this soon. Thank you so much for this video tutorial🙏 Could you please tell me what is the diameter of the hat in the head?
Hi, thank you for this tutorial, I would like to try this hat. Do you know what a need to do to make it slightly bigger, the person I am making it for has a large head and average size sun hats are usually too small. So I just want to make it a little bigger than average. Thanks very much.
I just have to say THANK YOU!!!! You’re crocheting at the PERFECT speed, pointing out SPECIFICALLY where you need to and just overall PERFECTION!!!! ❤
The sticky-note marking what row you're on was incredibly helpful, and the hat is gorgeous as well
Glad it was helpful!

Sometimes you can crochet something simple but the yarn makes it POP! Super good choice of color!
Kerry , Thank you 🙏😍

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering about the size. Now I will follow yours for sizing.

This is beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. Did you use up all of the yarn for one hat?
Me encantó. Más. Más. Mas
What size hook the materials says 3.5 mm but yours look more an H or I hook
Great tutorial ty for sharing

Maybe measure your head and then increase until you reach that circumference and then continue on with the brim part?
I love this! I made one and way to big for me. 😭
Aww... so sorry for that, but you can make it with less chain
I am trying to make this and I might be the only one who wasn't able to follow along perfectly. Your instructions were great 👍

You’re welcome 😊, it is 24 inches diameter, but it can still stretch...
@@EverythingArtsAndCrafts thank you!
Wonderful
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful hat, but I certainly wouldn't use acrylic for a summer hat
yeah... you can use any kind yarn you like, this is just a sample... thank you
Use cotton yarn for a summer hat.
@Sheila Santiago
I agree. However, with this choice of color I think it would be nice to wear in the fall.
I’m making one I just hope it’s not too hot for summer.
Use cotton yarn
Beautiful
I love this pattern. I'd like to try this with different color raffia... do you think it could work? Any advice?
Yes, definitely its work, but its too small you need to add more row...
@@EverythingArtsAndCrafts Thanks for replying. I will try it
Bagus topinya ...terimakasih tutorialnya🇮🇩❤️

Thanks for the simple yet beautiful design. What size hook do I use?
I think the hook size is 3.5 mm as shown in the start of the video 😊
