I also learned an extra tip from you which was,(how to locate the first chain).As all the stitches look the same simply separate the chain two at the start and the 1st. stitch will be clear. This hat still feels a little too hot for the summer can anyone please recommend a lightweight cotton that will work to this pattern and size? Need a cooler head.

Lol you silly Billy I'll be happy if it fits 😝😝 and you can use any yarn but make sure you adjust the stitches for size if you make a gauge Swatch then I can tell you how many stitches you should have 😁
Hi I'm sorry for the late reply..for an 8 year old I think you should stop at 66 dc in round 6. Rest of the pattern remains the same If you give me exact head size in inches I can be more sure of size.

It is a great tutorial but unfortunately the sound is very soft even on the highest level, and that makes it hard to follow the instructions.
