Baby Ape Pro - range test with upgraded VTX antenna

Gear:
Drone: Baby Ape Pro with RHCP antenna connected directly to VTX by UFL plug
Transmitter: Jumper T-Lite v2 with built in ELRS module set on 100mw and 250Hz for stable signal
Goggles: Skyzone 02O
Battery: Tattu 3s 550 mah
This time around with upgraded antenna i went even further than last time with stock one, and video signal was very clear and consistent. For me very good and cheap upgrade worth installing on this drone.

First thing I did after purchasing the Babyape. Doing it on all my quads now. So cheap and the result is fabulous

Thats a good range, I think I can't go that far even with my 800mw vtx (but stock antenna)
What length did you choose? 85mm seems good right?

i just got angle ufl option of Lollipop mini RHCP, but its around 8-10cm so i think its something like that

can you directle plug the news antenna "Lollipop 4 RHCP" on the standart VTX from Darwin FPV ? And is there a big differend or it is possible to change also the standart VTX with 200mW to a new VTX with for example 400 ?

yeah i connect this antenna directly to original 200mw vtx by UFL plug, just search on aliexpress for lollipop antennas and get one with UFL connector, they goes for around 5$.

i have drones with 400mw vtx and i think it will do make difference, but for me 200mw is good enough for this size drone

im using stock antennas that came with my Skyzone 02o goggles, i mean this round and flat one, just regular stuff

@@bezimienny_fpv thanks for the amazingly fast response! I have a set of Skyo2c goggles and I assume have the same stock antenna. About 10cm long, and round all the way up. Are they a RHCP antenna? Or does it not matter?

@@raleighro i have RHCP mini antenna on the drone, and on goggles its standard round one i dont know if its RHCP but it could be some kind

Thanks for posting your video. I have a Baby Ape Pro V2 and my video feed is terrible. At about 30m out my video starts breaking up and at about 60m its so bad I can't see where I'm going. I did install an iFlight 5.8g FPV Antennas RHCP. Can you give me any tips about what I might do to improve my range? (Yes, I did check the settings in BetaFlight to make sure that VTX is set to 200mw)
Also... how did you get the cam to output a 16x9 image? Mine is only 3x4.

i don't know, maybe your antenna is damaged or something, and i stretch video in post process to 16:9

also make sure you have the same channel on goggles and on drone, dont use auto search because it sometimes find wrong channel and video feed is weak

this motor good for 2s...3s got more power but not for long time ..if u push hard,your motor got die😅...no problem this motor type very cheap...

for your first radio and goggles i suggest something like Jumper T-Lite with build in ELRS module (around 70$) and for goggles if you want just something to start with EV800D/DM (difference is only size) are cheap and have DVR, and of course in future you will probably switch to something like Skyzone or Fatshark

Also EV800D cost around 90$ so with radio you will have setup for around 160$

@@watermelon_shark6864 for your first drone i think mobula8 with ELRS should be good, its 2S whoop and if you just starting its also cheap, and with GNB 2S 450mah batteries you will have 4min fly time

@@watermelon_shark6864 you can check out my videos with mobula8, despite its whoop it can fly quite far in ELRS version, and its fun to fly because its 2S so you can do some tricks and freestyle when you learn basics
