Thanks! It was my engagement ring. 😊 My husband has one too. I get terrible eczema on my hands so I don't wear my wedding ring much, but I am always happy for my tattoo. 😊
Thanks for making this video. I made my first ever hat from this and it's fancy! The Addi just got delivered today and I went to UA-cam for guidance on how to finish off the hat after getting it out of the machine - total newbie - when I came across this. We are cat people so this is perfect. :)
@@YarnatPlay Thanks! I had genius (to me) modification. I was running out of yarn after finishing one ear, so instead of sewing my way to the other side through the edge, I used the other tail yarn from the inner layer to sew the second ear. It was on the right side, too! ;)
I just found your channel. I'm waiting for my 2 Addi machines to arrive. So, I figured I'd binge on some pattern videos while waiting. I have 4 grandchildren, three of them girls ages 6 & 4 yr. old twins. So, I absolutely plan on making them a boat load of these hats for next winter. They live in New England so they will get used! I subscribed for more great knitting videos.
I made one in burgundy "fuzzy" yarn and camel plain yarn. It worked out great and had to make a end for my niece after she saw my daughter's. Thank you so much for the pattern!
Waiting for my Addi and grabbing ideas. I so want to make this hat for my adult cat loving daughter and granddaughter, but the closing off at the top has me SOOO intimidated!!! If there is an alternative way to do that part, I would love to know!! I can not knit, crochet, sew…. and I was getting this machine so I could (hopefully) create come cute crafty things without that knowledge! Thanks for the cute tutorial. I have a hard time imagining the different yarns together, I bought the Ivory “I Love this Yarn” today before seeing this, but would have looked right past the Blossonopolis until I saw this hat! So cute together!
You can use the closure that I go over in the tutorial that I posted today. You would just have to turn the hat in on itself for it to be doubled up... If that makes sense. 😜 I am sure you will have the hang of this stuff in no time!! ❤️
I am new to this, just bought a sentro 48 tooth. I was wondering how to use more than 1 yarn on one project such as 1 4 rows purple, 4 rows black and how to switch them out
Adorable vat hats. My Addi came and I'm battling with it a bit. Misses stitches and double stitches at times but I still love the machine. Definitely going to make these hats.
It takes some practice to get used to what works for your machine. Check your tension. Usually dropped or tucked stitches means not enough tension. Have fun with the process. It is worth it! 😊
I am so glad you like this tutorial!! I haven't gotten a Sentro... Yet! 🤣 Crochet is my first love. But machine knitting it REALLY addicting. It is so much fun. 😊
Thank you!! The tip going through the exterior before the interior each time is the most important thing to having a nice finishing look. Thank you!! What a cutie hat!! I have a question though for you in regards to the yarn. I tried to make a hat with the Red Heart Super Saver. Do you have problems using the Red Heart with your Addi. OMG it gives me such grief. Thanks again for this tutorial!!
Honestly... I try to avoid RHSS in general. I have used it on my Addi, but it doesn't work great and I just do not like the feel of it. It just isn't my thing. 😕
You will have left over yarn. Maybe enough for 2 hats... But I am not positive. It has been a while since I made this hat and I can't remember exactly how much I had left over. 🤦 Sorry!
Hm... If Savlabot doesn't ship internationally, then I am not sure. I would see if there is a different Etsy seller that makes something similar, or reach out to Savlabot on Etsy and see if she would be willing to ship to you.
Love the idea of the tensioner, but for me to buy here in the UK,shipping is expensive, does anybody know were these can be bought nearer to the UK. For 2 of these is almost £30 to much. Love your tutorial.
Love this pattern, finished the hat, closing now, now what do I do with the extra white strand? My great granddaughter is going to love this hat. Thank you so much for this tutorial. The I Love This Yarn works so well in the Addi
How many rows would it be for an adult size because I totally want to make a mommy and me set lol. Like if all 1 color with I love this yarn would it be 140 rows?
Probably between the ages of 2 and 6 ish depending on the child's head. My kids heads are almost as big as my own, so if the child has a smaller head I would say up to 8 years old.
I don't have a 40 needle machine so I am not sure. 😭 I am guessing at least 6 rows total, but since I haven't made it on a 40 needle machine I am not really sure.
Meijer is a Midwest store that usually has the best prices for yarn. Otherwise I usually go to JoAnn. If I am buying online I like ice yarn: bit.ly/3xxRsp2 Or We Crochet
Why dont you use scrap yarn so its easier to see the stitching at the end?? Fyi use a contrasting yarn at the beginning min. Of 5 rows clear the row counter and do the same at the end and sewing up the seams will be sooo much easier.
Hi thanks so much for this tutorial! One question on the finish of this hat... which of the 2 tails are you using to bind? The white or the multicolored? Or does it matter?? Thank you
I used the multicolor because that was the yarn I finished with on my machine so my needle was already threaded. 🤣 I don't think that it would matter too much, but you would see the contrasting white yarn like a line on the top of the hat if that is what you choose to seam with. I hope that helps! 😊
That is just a personal preference thing. I prefer to have the counter tick over at the end of the row rather than the beginning. There is no reason for it other than that. 😊
Hi Rachel, Love the kitty cat hat! I am going too attempt to make one for my youngest granddaughter who is kitty cat crazy!! Lol My tension is not very consistent so I immediately went to the shop to purchase the tension fork and to my dismay it said it is sold out!😞 I contacted the company but have not heard back as to my question- are they going to be restocked?!! Do you know anything about this? Also could you tell me how much it cost? Thanks for your time!!
Oh no!! In my experience Savlabot is very responsive and I am confident that she will have more available soon. She likely just needs to make more. The tension fork was $8 for one or $13 for two. I bought two at a time each time I placed my order since my kids tend to lose mine for me. 🤦
There is! You can use waste yarn to cast on and off and slip stitch the hat closed. I can do a video on it sometime, but it will be a bit. My family is currently recovering from COVID.
Yes, but if you loosen your tension and increase your row count it is easily adapted to be an adult size. 😊 I am going to be filming an adult variation of this hat soon!
Thank you for showing how to close for someone who doesn’t knit or crochet. I appreciate that.
Tip - Fold the hat in half to match the ears up to find where your stitch should start and end :)
That's a good one.
Good idea I used blue painting tape when I need to mark a sewing spot but this is good idea!
@@belatrixstarr I love this idea! Blue painting tape is such a versatile crafting tool (:
Thank you so much. I too have noticed the different yarns work up different. I have a great grandson who will love this hat.
How fun are these!! Wow....Can't wait to make these for my grandkids! Thank you!
Glad you like them!
Cute. Thank you for sharing. Ann from Va.
Thank you, that tutorial was excellent 🤩 🇬🇧 UK
Loved the new sewing on the top vs crochet slip stitch. I may get the hang of this method
You can do it! I know crochet closure isn't for everyone.
Thank you it was fun to learn and will try it can't wait to start ,so cute. 😍💕💕
Thankyou! I love these ideas! I just today bought an addi knitting machine so I can looking forward to learning! 😆

I’ve used that closure for a round top beanie and I was so pleased with how secure it felt. I’m looking forward to trying the cat ears 😻

Made with neon striped yarn. Came out great!
Love it. I'm going to make these to sell. Thank you
Super cute, thanks for your clear explanations ❤
You could probably use a long, flat, chip bag clip over the corners of the hat to use as a guide while you sew the ears. Keep a nice straight line.
Absolutely darling! I’m definitely making these as gifts. 🐱
Yay!! ❤️
Absolutely will be making the Kitty Cat hat for special little girl!!! Thank you for the tutorial!!!!

Probably you can use a triangle cone at the end and just sew in the edge so both are the same size :)
I love this! How many rows would you need for an adult hat?
Hi Jessica! sorry for the VERY delayed response! I usually do 110 rows for my adult hats, but it depends on the kind of yarn that you choose to use.
How many rows would you use to make a adult size hat I want to make some mommy and me sets for me and my girls
Obrigada, amei!!
Where did you buy the colourful yarn? Can you spell out the colour name please.

I bought a couple on ebay.
Can the machine be repaired mine keep skipping stitches

This is an original design of mine. I don't currently have a written pattern available for this hat. Sorry! 😔
How many rows for an adult size???
I usually do 110 rows for an adult size, but it depends on your yarn.
Can I make one with a 40 needle machine?
You would have to adjust the row counts quite a bit, and it would be very small, more of an infant size.
@@YarnatPlay thank U. Can you tell me how many rows I have to adjust?

Hi Rachel
Now I take it this hat is for a child? Can we do this same hat in adult size? How would we do that? I’m new to this machine. 😊
Increase your row counts. I start with the row count for a hat that fits you well and adjust your color row counts from there. 😊

How do u know how many row counts to do? For an average adult size head what would u say do for this hat?

Yep!! A 4 weight yarn. 😊
