- Today I roast a whole Pork Loin Roast. I then thinly slice it and tray it up for the Harvest Right Freeze Dryer. When it is done I reconstitute some and do a taste test. It came out perfect

Nice work! We have done 6 pork loins now, will do more after vegetable season. I do them raw, sliced into about 1/2" slices. It is easy to trim the fat when they are raw and cold and two large loins will fit into our large freeze dryer. They re-hydrate easily and since they are raw they cook perfectly in a really hot skillet, no worries about over cooking and can be seasoned in a variety of ways.
Thanks for info!! Will do dog bite-sized chunks.
I’m watching this again. I really love your preparation music. It’s so upbeat!
Glad you enjoy it!
Oh my stars. What am I going to do when I’ve watched all your videos? WATCH THEM AGAIN!!!
John I definitely am going to do this. I feel confident after watching you do it, start to finish. Thank you. ...and...I am going to get a meat slicer!
Thanks and enjoy!
Looks amazing
Excellent.
... good stuff. Great timing. Times like these are what this machine is for.
Holy cow this looks wonderful! I will definitely do this one, thanks for sharing.
This is another must do!
Thanks for sharing. I just smoked a loin and I'm gonna slice it up to fd too
Awesome!
amazing video 👍 Blessings
That looks amazing! I’m so excited to one day get a harvest right. Maybe next year I can get one!
They have layaway
I cut pork chops from these pork loins. Then FD raw chops. They rehydrate & cook beautifully.
Great Video! I heard your machine in the backround beeping and I thought it was mine! lol...
In pulled 3 pork roast from freezer to freeze dry. Thank you
Awesome! How long did you cycle the pork Tenderloin? How many hours? Thanks
I'm curious what the longest it would store for in a Mylar with O2 absorbers? It's my understanding that any meat with fat of any kind won't store long.
Nice! Have you tried FD’ing a canned ham? I have 2 that I was gifted and not sure what to do with them. Thanks for all you do JIB ❤️
Sorry I haven't
John have you tried any of that pork lately or have you already gone thru it? Looks good just wondering how it holds up?
Will this work for long term storage?
What's the temperature to bake in the oven?
Thanks alot John, you're making me spend more money on accessories! :) Hahahaha. Love the videos! Thanks again. What kind of mylar bags do you use?
Thanks for the comment, sorry about the accessories LOL. I use 7 mil ziplock mylar with the gusset bottoms so I can stand them up
Where do you buy them?

Still waiting for my FD delivery … now I think I might want a meat slicer ...would you recommend the one you're using?
I like it really well, there are better ones out there that are more expensive but this one does nicely for what I need
John, how thick did you slice this on your slicer?
If I recall correctly pretty thin. The thinner the better for reconstitution
Did you make that gravy? I need to make something like this!!
Nah. McCormick packets
What if you were to dip each piece of Pork Loin in the gravy rather than pour it over the top?
Great idea
Do you think that it would have turned out better if you would have dipped the meat into the gravy like you would batter fried chicken to get a more even coat of the gravy?
I think the reconstitution would have washed it off anyway. I think the real answer is to freeze dry the gravy separately and reconstitute separately.
How do you expect this would freeze dry if you had shredded it and coated it with barbacue sauce?
Very nicely, in fact that would be my preferred method
Isn’t sugar an issue in sauce?
I am starving kinda now!
How would you do raw (for dog food)…I am told modern-day pork is safe raw…
Costco sells Swift brand
Perfect for dog food.
I meant to also that your meat looked lovely, but I feed my dog human grade home-cooked dog food! 😃
@@sin46ned more nutrients in raw…
Human grade they say is safe…
1.99/pound today Costco
At the risk of sounding dumb Do people use these that don't live near shops In the Uk there ain't really many what in the US You would call remote places But they look like they could be a real necessity in big countrys
I can see a use for people in the country or in the city. Emergency long term food storage is a nice feeling.
@@JohnInBibs they look really good I give so much fish away The more you think about it The more there is a use Well done matey Stay well
Just Don't shop at a Kroger's. They have overcharged us 4 out of the last 5 visits and then they argue with you when trying to get the right price
