This means he technically sort of in a twisted way put a cat in a tree!!! Tune in next week when we discover how Mr bean could feed Thomas hot tamales and Clorox a bear at the same time.

i actually love the subtle setup where edward tells percy that gordon isn’t the type to joke around, then at the end gordon laughs at percy’s joke and even tell henry to shut it after he didn’t enjoy the joke. such a great detail that shows more sides to gordon, an absolutely amazin video, this series is very high tier

Percy Runs Away is one of my favourite episodes, and you made it even better. -Maurice and Clyde are oddly fitting names for big Gordon, yes yes. -Nice continuity with James mentioning that he pulls the express. -Flying Scotsman is mentioned out of nowhere and Gordon just decides not to pay attention to it when questioned. Could this be a sign of another side of Gordon? -The Quarry's seen for the first time, and it's fitting that this episode is the one that introduces it, since why did Percy leave those two trucks in a random siding in the original episode anyway? -Henry's slowness is still called out. Nice. -Over 17 minutes of Percy running away? Geez, I can't blame him for being so exhausted. -Gordon and Percy's friendship is explored here a bit more and it's really good. The ending warmed my heart. -Of course Henry, the engine who has a grudge/rivalry, thinks Percy's joke was the worst. -That one goof of a line with Gordon saying that Percy "ran so quickly that he stopped a nasty accident" actually makes sense now! Judging by the imagery, you can see that Percy had already begun to move as Gordon approached before stopping. -Not sure why I like the fact that Percy thought Edward said to "wait" for the signalman rather than "whistle"...I know it's mentioned somewhat in the original episode, but the way it's executed here makes it seem like Percy misheard what Edward said, rather than not remembering. I know he says later that he forgot to whistle when in the earth bank, but I just thought to point it out. -Nice calling attention to the drivers' usefulness. So from what I'm understanding here, the engines can move by themselves, but if there's something that an engine can't do, like shovelling coal or checking on the signalman, the driver comes to help. They're kind of like a backup help if that's what's being shown here. Overall, splendid! Might be my favourite movie so far!
The "started so quickly" line was leftover from the Railway Series. In the books, Percy actually did start to speed away _before_ Gordon stopped, with Percy's crew being so certain of a collision that they decided to abandon their post despite the fact they had gotten him moving.
@@Railman1225 i think it's a case of the engines having some limited control over starting or moving themselves, but braking and other steam engine needs are handled by the crew.
This was a brilliant way to continue Percy’s character. Definitely the highlights where Gordon and Percy’s dynamic. Gordon at first not being fond of Percy’s teasing especially the different names he comes up with, to Gordon accepting Percy by the end and tolerating his Jokes to even him saying “Let the boy have his moments”. Definitely shows Gordon has learn his lesson after that strikes and even him not being upset that Percy delay his express to help him is a great development you give Gordon. Percy’s driver trying to wake the signalman up was also funny, and the realizations of Gordon that he is about to almost crash into Percy. Once again, brilliant job with this trampy movie, and hope you have a great day!!.
I low how Percy is so adorably innocent and naive in this episode , so true to his character and I love that you imply the fact that he was running backwards for at least 20 minutes. Gordon is also a real standout in this episode. I like that when he mentions Flying Scotsman , none of the engines know him. But I love that you show the ' big brother ' side of him. Despite him being so egotistcial and up his ass , he does have a side that shows sympathy. Nice character development there. As always Edward's just the best boy. But I think the best character in this episode was.... Thom- I mean Henry. I love me some big grumpy Henry. I love that he says that he would kill you if he really wanted to. His and Thomas' line deliveries are by far the best of any character in this series. This episode is also just really funny. I always love Henry being being a dick to everyone , Percy calling Gordon ' Maurice ' had me dying.
At 12:20 did anyone else immediately imitate The French Narrator from SpongeBob SquarePants saying “17 minutes later”. That makes this scene even funnier.
This might be one of my absolute favorite movies. The classic engine banter is present as always and better than ever. Henry is an absolute savage. I also like how it shows him being unwell on the mainline eluding to what I believe may be an upcoming movie. And Percy cracking jokes with the other engines is gold. The drivers line “how do you signalmen get employed” is also hilarious. Absolutely awesome!
This episode made me realize just how underutilized Percy and Gordon's dynamic really was in the source material. What I love about its use here is how it parallels his relationship with Thomas, through them both being cheeky. The main difference is that Thomas uses his jokes and pranks as ways to get back at others, he enjoys watching their annoyance because after being looked down at for so long he likes taking them down a notch. Percy is nothing like that. Yeah he plays jokes and jabs at them a bit, but with him it's never with ill-intent. He notices the other engines' mannerisms and is simply trying to emulate them. He listens to boundaries, is blunt and to the point, doesn't push things too far, and apologizes when he feels he's wronged someone. These are all aspects of a station pilot Gordon doesn't expect. That on top of not knowing who he is and getting his name wrong, which deflates his ego a bit. But the big element here is when he finds Percy in the mound of earth. Percy is at a pretty low point here, having literally suffered the consequences of his actions for over 17 minutes. But not only does Percy admit that his mistake caused the whole mess in the first place, he realizes that the true consequences of what happened, and that he feels sorry that he was in Gordon's way and that he didn't need to prioritize saving him over getting his job done on time, given how distant and uncaring he thinks Gordon to be based on what he's seen and heard about him. It's here Gordon truly grasps that Percy, at his core, is truly well-meaning at heart and how his callous behavior towards Percy has deprecated his self-worth. He realizes he was wrong to do that and that's why he starts to support Percy like a father figure, assuring him that their safety matters over the timetable, that he wasn't to blame, and praising him for his quick thinking. That's why he wants to "let the boy have his moment." He laughs at the joke because he's stopped treating him like a pest and admires the effort Percy put into it. He now knows Percy looks up to him, and is trying to support him in order to help foster that lighthearted and quizzical nature he has. He'll never admit it, but somehow, I think Edward knows only too well. And here's the best part. If you watch Trampy Quickie 5: Mine, and take note of the dialogue after Gordon pulls Thomas free, you'll notice that Gordon speaks to Thomas much like he does to Percy in the mound of earth. Part of me wonders, if Gordon learning this lesson with Percy might actually act as a stepping stone for him developing his alliance with Thomas. If Percy is truly someone well-meaning at heart and his callousness affected him so vividly here, Gordon might start to reflect on how him constant putting-down of Thomas has affected him, and feel that he should make up for what he has done and lift him up for once. Sure he's not above poking fun at him, but also in that Quickie, Gordon isn't being malicious towards him, just making light of the situation. Of course Thomas is aggressive but that's how he's always reacted towards Gordon's teasing, and that makes sense. But the big change happens when he assures Thomas he'll keep the incident a secret because he realizes how Thomas feels about being looked down upon for his mistakes, and even admits how low he himself has fallen. It's at that point when Thomas finally lets himself be vulnerable and the two find a sort of camaraderie in being disgraced. They end up on a level playing field which is what Thomas has always wanted. If that truly is what this episode is foreshadowing, then that is some Pixar-level writing right there. That's all on that of how Percy and Henry's dynamic contrasts with him and Gordon. Henry, as we've seen, is very self-conscious, and because Percy blew steam at him when he was trying to 'say hello', he feels his 'authority' is undermined and is unable to see that innocent side. Of course Percy meant nothing of it, but that's the point. He's seeing hostility in Percy where there is none. He's basically Skinner from Ratatouille, except his insecurities are the thing generating paranoia that Percy has it out for him, so he overreacts and does so aggressively. It's actually kinda hilarious to watch, and if Trampy Quickie 3: Water is anything to go by, it seems Percy will take some note of that insecurity and use it for his own amusement. And that's just the characters. I love the witty and humorous dialogue (I expect to see a lot of OCs named Maurice and Clyde now). The edits are phenomenal (4:02 is my favorite), not to mention how odd it is to realize we never actually got to see Percy be a station pilot in the model series. The use of the human characters is incredible, with Percy even noting the trope of them blending in. Also while likely unintentional I like to think the quarry Percy bought the trucks to was one of the old lead and zinc mines around Wellsworth the W&S once served, hence explaining why he waits at Wellsworth afterwards. That and I adore the changes you've made to the story. In particular, seeing Edward warning Percy to whistle but showing how the amount of instructions confused him, leading to him thinking he had to wait for the signalman, along with him starting to move before Gordon reaches him makes so much more sense narratively, and making Edward a flawed mentor makes his character so much more interesting and believable. Even he makes mistakes, something even the source material had trouble showing well. All in all, absolutely fantastic work and can't wait to see more!
Way to make a first impression, Percy! At least you have Gordon's trust, now! Speaking of which, I love the development between the two. I can totally see Gordon as Percy's big brother; sorta willing to tolerate his cheekiness, but happy to know Percy's alright, even if it meant the express was a bit delayed! Also, I hope Percy doesn't get on Henry's bad side too much. Henry may be a bit petty, so there's no telling what he'd do. The banter between the big three at the beginning is also GOLDEN! Yet another great entry! I hope Percy can get along with the others well, especially Henry and Thomas in the future!
I found it hilarious that Percy makes fun of Henry for going too slow, and when Percy is hurtling backwards out of control, Henry's reaction is "Karma's a bitch"
I love how this deconstructs the incident in Percy Runs Away by having both Percy and the signalman be at fault. If a mishap occurred because of human error in the Railway Series, the engine would take the blame. Awdry balked at the idea of implying that people who worked on the railway were incompetent. Then you add the plot device which Allcroft introduced in Season 5 where accidents happened because human railway workers were idiots. Despite that, the signalman wasn't entirely at fault. He took a nap whilst on duty, it's true, but Percy just stood there and didn't whistle to get his attention. His driver should have pulled the whistle instead of leaving Percy unattended. Not only that, but Edward's involvement is interesting too. If Edward does have a flaw in these movies, it can be summed up by the old proverb: "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions". He swapped duties with Thomas in "Trucks" and allowed Percy to take a train to the quarry here. While it could be argued that he was reluctant to do so in "Trucks", he should have remembered Thomas' impulsive nature and realised that he would have rushed off without listening. In this case, Percy only knows how to work in a yard. The only time he was on the main line was before the big engines were let out: there was no other traffic. He just happened to run into Thomas and Edward because he wandered off after finishing his jobs. Edward does explain how dangerous the main line can be to Percy, who appears to listen, but completely forgets everything he's told. As a result, this creates the analogy of a small child going into a busy road, not understanding the dangers because they've been used to playing on empty streets. We've seen Edward almost be the cause of two serious accidents as a result of trying to help. He's not as flawed as the other engines, but he's not perfect either. Plus, major kudos for actually showing Percy doing his job. Even in the books and TV show, he was mostly seen acting the fool as opposed to shunting a train.
I love how Thomas being cheeky is cause he’s a little jerk when he feels like it and Percy is Cheeky cause he’s such a mutually agreed cinnamon roll Great story Trampy and I can’t wait for the next one
Love the jokes in here! The Maurice and Clyde joke was funny as well as how meta it got with the signalmen sleeping on the job and Percy thinks that the crews just exist until the situation calls for them. Percy slowly getting on Henry’s nerves and Percy being a runaway for 17 minutes was both funny and kinda realistic, also want to mention the goof Gordon said when helping Percy out actually makes sense now. It’s nice seeing Gordon actually nice for once and not be a jerk and I did like the ending, hope we do get to see more of his side of Gordon.
Man this was so delightful the comedic timing was on point as always, and its nice to see Percy's puckishness coming out now that he's settling in. He's like the little brother of the yard, wide eyed and innocent but still cheeky
Ok, this was a fantastic adaptation and all, but my god. Your take on Henry’s character is probably the best one I’ve ever seen. I love his reactions to Percy’s shenanigans. Absolutely hilarious man keep it up.
You know, with Percy and Edward’s conversation at the beginning of this video, I can definitely relate. Sometimes, I‘ll wake up in the middle of the night and often end up watching movies or playing video games until the rest of my family wakes up. Very relatable, I must say.
New Trampy movie and another great one! I seriously love Gordon and Percy’s relationship here, Gordon acting like a BIG brother to Percy and even when Percy apologizes to him about the mainline, Gordon surprisingly forgives him and tells him that it wasn’t his fault, he knows he’s new here but he is surprisingly willing to give him the chance. I really like how the end connects to the beginning of their conversation that he doesn’t want Percy to call him “Big Gordon” but he thinks it is funny and when Henry says it was unfunny, Gordon says to let the boy have fun, also the Percy and Henry rivalry is still very present lol Overall amazing episode, I super can’t wait to see The Flying Kipper next because man o man I’m excited.
Percy's already making a strong impression on the other engines just with waking them up, isn't he? I'm going to enjoy seeing his dynamic with the other engines, especially Gordon, James, and Henry.
I love Percy and Gordon’s friendship in this! I always wondered why the end of the original episode said the two became friends and then never followed up on it, so this scratches that itch perfectly.
Okay the climax was so much better than the original episode. It was always jarring how Percy only ran off after Gordon came to a complete stop. But you helped the situation make much more sense with that change and the signalman sleeping on the job

I just love how wholesome this series is. Not to mention the lovely comedic dialogue. All the interactions really do add more depth to each character and as an added bonus it also feels like something they might actually say. Just wonderful to see Gordon showing a more caring side beneath his usual pompous attitude.

This was yet another great installment in the Trampy movies! I absolutely love Percy in this, he is an absolute goofball and is a little adorable in a sense. I love the relationship between Percy and "Maurice" in this, and I really like how it almost seems like Gordon is Percy's "father figure", and I absolutely love that. The runaway sequence was also really well done, and I love that there was an added bonus of the tension of trying to wake the signalman up on top of Gordon trying to stop in time. All of these qualities make this a really great Trampy movie, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Percy in the future!
Something I really love is how we're starting to see Percy start to develop a bit more like how he does in the Water Quickie, he's still the cinnamon roll we had in the previous one yet we can kinda see a bit of snarkiness (definitely not the right word but I can't think of the right one) start to show. I was really curious as to how Percy would develop to that point, so I'm glad we're starting to see a bit of it. I also absolutely love Gordon's character development and his relationship with Percy, their relationship at the end of this one is honestly really cute, and I can't wait to see what you do with them! One final thing before I go to bed is that I keep thinking about the bit with Percy telling Gordon that he didn't need to stop for him when Gordon probably would've killed him in a head on collision. I dunno, a part of it is... honestly somewhat troubling to me, I'm probably reading too deep into it but now it's just making me wonder how truly bad Percy had it on his previous railway. I know we've gotten tidbits about his previous life in the last one, but now I'm wondering if it'll be delved into more later on. I guess we'll just have to see! Amazing work as always! EDIT: Ok I SWEAR this is my final thought, but I feel like a super underrated part of these are the descriptions. They like, fit my EXACT sense of humor and they're genuinely one of my favorite parts of these.

This is a fantastic episode. I really enjoy the conflict and humor you've put in between Gordon and Percy. Honestly, this might be my favorite episode so far. These "Trampy Movie" videos are great, and for every release, the new episode would be favorite for a couple of weeks untill the next "Trampy Movie" releases. Honestly, these "Rewritten-styled" videos makes me consider, if they should be canon or not. I love this series so much and I can't wait for the next release. Fantastic job, Trampy.
I mean percy did blow steam at him so that's understandable, plus henry clearly hates james too. So henry is pretty intolerant of others. I wonder if he'll change that attitude in future episodes
Can't believe that of all the people and things in life, it's LITTLE PERCY that's starting to soften up GORDON, the biggest piece of rebellious rubbish ever. Gordon, who's been nothing but a dick for the whole series, actually starts to show genuine kindness and sense of humour with Percy around. Who'd have thought Gordon's redemption arc would start because he takes a liking to the green caterpillar with red stripes! Henry, meanwhile, is the complete opposite. His arsehole side is starting to become more and more pronounced, him doing nothing except picking every possible bone while talking to Percy, and even refusing to help him when he was crying in desperation, my god he really doesn't like this new guy now does he? Maybe it's a colour thing, big blue Gordon can't stand little blue Thomas, so big green Henry likewise can't stand little green Percy? Who knows, it's just a theory. (Sidenote: I love how Gordon only let it slip that he's a got a famous brother in the Flying Scotsman while he was in a frustrated rant, having neglected to mention it to anyone on Sodor up to this point. Goes to show that Gordon, despite being the "King of the Railway, Pride of the Line" on the little NWR, has really got nothing to boast when compared to the actual express engines on the mainland. Deep down, Gordon is actually as insecure as Henry or James, and while I might be completely overthinking here, it's a nice little touch.) Sorry for the rant, I waited all day from this drop haha, just had to get it out of my head how much I love these movies.
Percy's a lot more goofy, than cheeky as of right now. lil man is adorable. Honestly the cut at 12:20 had me howling, I can't state that enough. Adore the Henry vs Percy dynamic going on here, It's shaping up nicely. Had a nice payoff too in this episode. Gordon's praise and kindness to Percy in this episode was very sweet and nice to see. We don't get to see that side of him that often in these early periods of the NWR. Shows that at least he's not a vain boastful monster. Hope get to see more dynamics between Percy and the others soon. Well done as always my good man.
Another great episode, absolutely amazing. I love how Percy keeps his naivety, but starts to develop his mischievous side. I like how Edward continues to be a father figure. Gordon's arc is great and shows that while he IS an asshole, he's not a irredeemable asshole. Herny and James continue to be hilarious, with their fighting and regret over the strike. Herny's anger is amazing, and I like how you foreshadowed his illness. Percy commenting on "Big Gordon" was excellent, and the singalman was great. I love how no one knows who Gordon is, and I like the reference to the Flying Scotsman. Also 7:38 and 2:55
NGL, Percy’s & Maurice’s (please tell me that becomes a running gag, easily the funniest part of this whole series) relationship seems like it’s going to be really heartwarming.
The entire scene with Percy and Gordon screaming during the near collision was great and hilarious! I love the dynamic with Gordon and Percy at the end! Great movie once again, Trampy!
I’m loving these! It’s only the early years on the NWR, Gordon is maturing and beginning to like it on Sodor…he just doesn’t want to admit it… I’ve got several theories Trampy…. 1. Gordon taking a liking to Percy comes out of nowhere in the original…but in this, he mentions Flying Scotsman…and apparently never told anyone about that…so I wonder if something happened between Scot and Gordon…something that makes Gordon act the way he does… 2. Henry is a downright…not gonna say the word lol…but it looks like his steaming troubles are coming back… 3. I dunno why…But Percy saying that Gordon didn’t need to stop…kinda implies he would’ve been fine if Gordon smashed him to bits…I wonder if Percy’s old colleagues made him think that his life wasn’t important…
Seeing how quickly Gordon dismissed his brother, The Flying Scotsman, makes me think he has a rocky relationship with him. And I love how quickly Henry gets angry at Percy. He either can’t stand the guy or is still bitter about Percy blowing steam at him.
9:05 Self aware humor I keep wondering whether Gordon's got a sort of... malicious charisma about him, and whether he's directing it towards Percy. He already used it to convince James and Henry to join him in striking, and avoided taking (full) responsibility for dragging Thomas down the main line. And then the way he interacts with Percy the whole time makes me wonder whether he's got some other angle, like he's trying to get on Percy's good side for his own selfish reasons. Buuuuuut, with an ending like that - Gordon appreciating Percy's joke, even when Henry's the only one around to hear - I think he just genuinely has a soft spot for the little guy. And why wouldn't he? Percy may push a few buttons, but I really do get the impression it's just some innocent fun - who could stay mad at Percy? ...Oooooooooor maybe he's just subconsciously looking for someone who'll treat him kindly after he pushed everyone else away.
You Trampy are amazing. The moral in this story is to always follow the safety rules before you get injured or killed. 9:51 My god I love how Percy screams when Gordon tries to stop in time. 5:01 and 7:38 And I really love how Percy is cheeky to Henry and Gordon which is hilarious.
I love the way Percy's driver says, "Oh, shit!" And I also love Charlie saying, "Hey, less chattering and more going out and finding the runaway engine, please"
I can't wait. Edit: Great character development from Gordon (albeit a little). Hilarious arguments and roasts as usual. Great dialogue from characters enhancing the original show. 10 out of 10. And the Winners of best lines goes to Henry and Thomas.

I'm seeing some foreshadowing of Henry's steaming troubles…. I might be the first to say this, but these videos are really helping you gain your own identity as Trampy, and not just as one of The Unlucky Tug's friends.
A very awesome addition to the Trampy Movie series as usual! I am really enjoying these thus far and I cannot wait to see more in the future! X3 I especially the relationship Gordon and Percy have in this. I especially love Percy in this, he's so innocent and it makes my heart race and melt when he started running backwards away from Gordon, I felt so bad for him and didn't want him to get hurt ;3 1:42 That is some really interesting case of fore-shadowing too...Which had me think of a fucked up yet awesome idea to embrace that on Henry's part(Probably as a potential deleted scene). instead of pulling the express in the OG episode and Edward pulling Gordon into the turn-table. I could actually imagine Henry being the one to pull Gordon instead as the latter complains about his assigned task or so, and all the complaining and then going back to the time he had a "plan". To which would make Henry so fucking fed up with Gordon's bullshit that he simply goes: "You know what? I had about mcfuckin' had it with this bitch :3 He dies." And pushes Gordon to the ditch. So yeah XD
“How do you signalmen even get employed?” Given how many crashes in the show were caused by signalmen sleeping on the job, that is a very legit question.

Percy Runs Away is one of my favourite episodes, and you made it even better.
-Maurice and Clyde are oddly fitting names for big Gordon, yes yes.
-Nice continuity with James mentioning that he pulls the express.
-Flying Scotsman is mentioned out of nowhere and Gordon just decides not to pay attention to it when questioned. Could this be a sign of another side of Gordon?
-The Quarry's seen for the first time, and it's fitting that this episode is the one that introduces it, since why did Percy leave those two trucks in a random siding in the original episode anyway?
-Henry's slowness is still called out. Nice.
-Over 17 minutes of Percy running away? Geez, I can't blame him for being so exhausted.
-Gordon and Percy's friendship is explored here a bit more and it's really good. The ending warmed my heart.
-Of course Henry, the engine who has a grudge/rivalry, thinks Percy's joke was the worst.
-That one goof of a line with Gordon saying that Percy "ran so quickly that he stopped a nasty accident" actually makes sense now! Judging by the imagery, you can see that Percy had already begun to move as Gordon approached before stopping.
-Not sure why I like the fact that Percy thought Edward said to "wait" for the signalman rather than "whistle"...I know it's mentioned somewhat in the original episode, but the way it's executed here makes it seem like Percy misheard what Edward said, rather than not remembering. I know he says later that he forgot to whistle when in the earth bank, but I just thought to point it out.
-Nice calling attention to the drivers' usefulness. So from what I'm understanding here, the engines can move by themselves, but if there's something that an engine can't do, like shovelling coal or checking on the signalman, the driver comes to help. They're kind of like a backup help if that's what's being shown here.
Overall, splendid! Might be my favourite movie so far!
The "started so quickly" line was leftover from the Railway Series. In the books, Percy actually did start to speed away _before_ Gordon stopped, with Percy's crew being so certain of a collision that they decided to abandon their post despite the fact they had gotten him moving.

17 Boring Minutes of Running Away From Big Blue Fatty, Gordon.
This was a brilliant way to continue Percy’s character. Definitely the highlights where Gordon and Percy’s dynamic. Gordon at first not being fond of Percy’s teasing especially the different names he comes up with, to Gordon accepting Percy by the end and tolerating his Jokes to even him saying “Let the boy have his moments”. Definitely shows Gordon has learn his lesson after that strikes and even him not being upset that Percy delay his express to help him is a great development you give Gordon. Percy’s driver trying to wake the signalman up was also funny, and the realizations of Gordon that he is about to almost crash into Percy.
Once again, brilliant job with this trampy movie, and hope you have a great day!!.

I low how Percy is so adorably innocent and naive in this episode , so true to his character and I love that you imply the fact that he was running backwards for at least 20 minutes. Gordon is also a real standout in this episode. I like that when he mentions Flying Scotsman , none of the engines know him. But I love that you show the ' big brother ' side of him. Despite him being so egotistcial and up his ass , he does have a side that shows sympathy. Nice character development there. As always Edward's just the best boy. But I think the best character in this episode was.... Thom- I mean Henry. I love me some big grumpy Henry. I love that he says that he would kill you if he really wanted to. His and Thomas' line deliveries are by far the best of any character in this series. This episode is also just really funny. I always love Henry being being a dick to everyone , Percy calling Gordon ' Maurice ' had me dying.

This might be one of my absolute favorite movies. The classic engine banter is present as always and better than ever. Henry is an absolute savage. I also like how it shows him being unwell on the mainline eluding to what I believe may be an upcoming movie. And Percy cracking jokes with the other engines is gold. The drivers line “how do you signalmen get employed” is also hilarious. Absolutely awesome!

This episode made me realize just how underutilized Percy and Gordon's dynamic really was in the source material.
What I love about its use here is how it parallels his relationship with Thomas, through them both being cheeky. The main difference is that Thomas uses his jokes and pranks as ways to get back at others, he enjoys watching their annoyance because after being looked down at for so long he likes taking them down a notch. Percy is nothing like that. Yeah he plays jokes and jabs at them a bit, but with him it's never with ill-intent. He notices the other engines' mannerisms and is simply trying to emulate them. He listens to boundaries, is blunt and to the point, doesn't push things too far, and apologizes when he feels he's wronged someone.
These are all aspects of a station pilot Gordon doesn't expect. That on top of not knowing who he is and getting his name wrong, which deflates his ego a bit. But the big element here is when he finds Percy in the mound of earth. Percy is at a pretty low point here, having literally suffered the consequences of his actions for over 17 minutes. But not only does Percy admit that his mistake caused the whole mess in the first place, he realizes that the true consequences of what happened, and that he feels sorry that he was in Gordon's way and that he didn't need to prioritize saving him over getting his job done on time, given how distant and uncaring he thinks Gordon to be based on what he's seen and heard about him.
It's here Gordon truly grasps that Percy, at his core, is truly well-meaning at heart and how his callous behavior towards Percy has deprecated his self-worth. He realizes he was wrong to do that and that's why he starts to support Percy like a father figure, assuring him that their safety matters over the timetable, that he wasn't to blame, and praising him for his quick thinking. That's why he wants to "let the boy have his moment." He laughs at the joke because he's stopped treating him like a pest and admires the effort Percy put into it. He now knows Percy looks up to him, and is trying to support him in order to help foster that lighthearted and quizzical nature he has. He'll never admit it, but somehow, I think Edward knows only too well.
And here's the best part. If you watch Trampy Quickie 5: Mine, and take note of the dialogue after Gordon pulls Thomas free, you'll notice that Gordon speaks to Thomas much like he does to Percy in the mound of earth. Part of me wonders, if Gordon learning this lesson with Percy might actually act as a stepping stone for him developing his alliance with Thomas. If Percy is truly someone well-meaning at heart and his callousness affected him so vividly here, Gordon might start to reflect on how him constant putting-down of Thomas has affected him, and feel that he should make up for what he has done and lift him up for once.
Sure he's not above poking fun at him, but also in that Quickie, Gordon isn't being malicious towards him, just making light of the situation. Of course Thomas is aggressive but that's how he's always reacted towards Gordon's teasing, and that makes sense. But the big change happens when he assures Thomas he'll keep the incident a secret because he realizes how Thomas feels about being looked down upon for his mistakes, and even admits how low he himself has fallen. It's at that point when Thomas finally lets himself be vulnerable and the two find a sort of camaraderie in being disgraced. They end up on a level playing field which is what Thomas has always wanted.
If that truly is what this episode is foreshadowing, then that is some Pixar-level writing right there.
That's all on that of how Percy and Henry's dynamic contrasts with him and Gordon. Henry, as we've seen, is very self-conscious, and because Percy blew steam at him when he was trying to 'say hello', he feels his 'authority' is undermined and is unable to see that innocent side. Of course Percy meant nothing of it, but that's the point. He's seeing hostility in Percy where there is none. He's basically Skinner from Ratatouille, except his insecurities are the thing generating paranoia that Percy has it out for him, so he overreacts and does so aggressively. It's actually kinda hilarious to watch, and if Trampy Quickie 3: Water is anything to go by, it seems Percy will take some note of that insecurity and use it for his own amusement.
And that's just the characters. I love the witty and humorous dialogue (I expect to see a lot of OCs named Maurice and Clyde now). The edits are phenomenal (4:02 is my favorite), not to mention how odd it is to realize we never actually got to see Percy be a station pilot in the model series. The use of the human characters is incredible, with Percy even noting the trope of them blending in. Also while likely unintentional I like to think the quarry Percy bought the trucks to was one of the old lead and zinc mines around Wellsworth the W&S once served, hence explaining why he waits at Wellsworth afterwards.
That and I adore the changes you've made to the story. In particular, seeing Edward warning Percy to whistle but showing how the amount of instructions confused him, leading to him thinking he had to wait for the signalman, along with him starting to move before Gordon reaches him makes so much more sense narratively, and making Edward a flawed mentor makes his character so much more interesting and believable. Even he makes mistakes, something even the source material had trouble showing well.
All in all, absolutely fantastic work and can't wait to see more!

Speaking of which, I love the development between the two. I can totally see Gordon as Percy's big brother; sorta willing to tolerate his cheekiness, but happy to know Percy's alright, even if it meant the express was a bit delayed!
Also, I hope Percy doesn't get on Henry's bad side too much. Henry may be a bit petty, so there's no telling what he'd do.
The banter between the big three at the beginning is also GOLDEN!

I love how this deconstructs the incident in Percy Runs Away by having both Percy and the signalman be at fault. If a mishap occurred because of human error in the Railway Series, the engine would take the blame. Awdry balked at the idea of implying that people who worked on the railway were incompetent. Then you add the plot device which Allcroft introduced in Season 5 where accidents happened because human railway workers were idiots. Despite that, the signalman wasn't entirely at fault. He took a nap whilst on duty, it's true, but Percy just stood there and didn't whistle to get his attention. His driver should have pulled the whistle instead of leaving Percy unattended.
Not only that, but Edward's involvement is interesting too. If Edward does have a flaw in these movies, it can be summed up by the old proverb: "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions". He swapped duties with Thomas in "Trucks" and allowed Percy to take a train to the quarry here. While it could be argued that he was reluctant to do so in "Trucks", he should have remembered Thomas' impulsive nature and realised that he would have rushed off without listening. In this case, Percy only knows how to work in a yard. The only time he was on the main line was before the big engines were let out: there was no other traffic. He just happened to run into Thomas and Edward because he wandered off after finishing his jobs. Edward does explain how dangerous the main line can be to Percy, who appears to listen, but completely forgets everything he's told. As a result, this creates the analogy of a small child going into a busy road, not understanding the dangers because they've been used to playing on empty streets.
We've seen Edward almost be the cause of two serious accidents as a result of trying to help. He's not as flawed as the other engines, but he's not perfect either.
Plus, major kudos for actually showing Percy doing his job. Even in the books and TV show, he was mostly seen acting the fool as opposed to shunting a train.

Love the jokes in here! The Maurice and Clyde joke was funny as well as how meta it got with the signalmen sleeping on the job and Percy thinks that the crews just exist until the situation calls for them. Percy slowly getting on Henry’s nerves and Percy being a runaway for 17 minutes was both funny and kinda realistic, also want to mention the goof Gordon said when helping Percy out actually makes sense now.
It’s nice seeing Gordon actually nice for once and not be a jerk and I did like the ending, hope we do get to see more of his side of Gordon.

New Trampy movie and another great one! I seriously love Gordon and Percy’s relationship here, Gordon acting like a BIG brother to Percy and even when Percy apologizes to him about the mainline, Gordon surprisingly forgives him and tells him that it wasn’t his fault, he knows he’s new here but he is surprisingly willing to give him the chance. I really like how the end connects to the beginning of their conversation that he doesn’t want Percy to call him “Big Gordon” but he thinks it is funny and when Henry says it was unfunny, Gordon says to let the boy have fun, also the Percy and Henry rivalry is still very present lol
Overall amazing episode, I super can’t wait to see The Flying Kipper next because man o man I’m excited.

I love Percy and Gordon’s friendship in this! I always wondered why the end of the original episode said the two became friends and then never followed up on it, so this scratches that itch perfectly.
Okay the climax was so much better than the original episode. It was always jarring how Percy only ran off after Gordon came to a complete stop. But you helped the situation make much more sense with that change and the signalman sleeping on the job

I just love how wholesome this series is. Not to mention the lovely comedic dialogue. All the interactions really do add more depth to each character and as an added bonus it also feels like something they might actually say. Just wonderful to see Gordon showing a more caring side beneath his usual pompous attitude.

This was yet another great installment in the Trampy movies! I absolutely love Percy in this, he is an absolute goofball and is a little adorable in a sense. I love the relationship between Percy and "Maurice" in this, and I really like how it almost seems like Gordon is Percy's "father figure", and I absolutely love that. The runaway sequence was also really well done, and I love that there was an added bonus of the tension of trying to wake the signalman up on top of Gordon trying to stop in time. All of these qualities make this a really great Trampy movie, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Percy in the future!

Finally, Gordon is starting to mature. I love it. And this has got to be the most hilarious movie yet. And Henry is insufferable. It's awesome.
Something I really love is how we're starting to see Percy start to develop a bit more like how he does in the Water Quickie, he's still the cinnamon roll we had in the previous one yet we can kinda see a bit of snarkiness (definitely not the right word but I can't think of the right one) start to show. I was really curious as to how Percy would develop to that point, so I'm glad we're starting to see a bit of it.
I also absolutely love Gordon's character development and his relationship with Percy, their relationship at the end of this one is honestly really cute, and I can't wait to see what you do with them!
One final thing before I go to bed is that I keep thinking about the bit with Percy telling Gordon that he didn't need to stop for him when Gordon probably would've killed him in a head on collision. I dunno, a part of it is... honestly somewhat troubling to me, I'm probably reading too deep into it but now it's just making me wonder how truly bad Percy had it on his previous railway. I know we've gotten tidbits about his previous life in the last one, but now I'm wondering if it'll be delved into more later on. I guess we'll just have to see!

Seems Gordon might be maturing a little.... until we get to the backing signals, then things will get a little rough. Wonder how you'll handle Henry and Percy's apparent one sided rvialry

This is a fantastic episode. I really enjoy the conflict and humor you've put in between Gordon and Percy. Honestly, this might be my favorite episode so far. These "Trampy Movie" videos are great, and for every release, the new episode would be favorite for a couple of weeks untill the next "Trampy Movie" releases. Honestly, these "Rewritten-styled" videos makes me consider, if they should be canon or not. I love this series so much and I can't wait for the next release. Fantastic job, Trampy.
I love the amount of wholesomeness here. Henry clearly dislikes percy, but Gordon has a almost big brother attituade towards him :)
I mean percy did blow steam at him so that's understandable, plus henry clearly hates james too. So henry is pretty intolerant of others. I wonder if he'll change that attitude in future episodes

Can't believe that of all the people and things in life, it's LITTLE PERCY that's starting to soften up GORDON, the biggest piece of rebellious rubbish ever. Gordon, who's been nothing but a dick for the whole series, actually starts to show genuine kindness and sense of humour with Percy around. Who'd have thought Gordon's redemption arc would start because he takes a liking to the green caterpillar with red stripes!
Henry, meanwhile, is the complete opposite. His arsehole side is starting to become more and more pronounced, him doing nothing except picking every possible bone while talking to Percy, and even refusing to help him when he was crying in desperation, my god he really doesn't like this new guy now does he? Maybe it's a colour thing, big blue Gordon can't stand little blue Thomas, so big green Henry likewise can't stand little green Percy? Who knows, it's just a theory.
(Sidenote: I love how Gordon only let it slip that he's a got a famous brother in the Flying Scotsman while he was in a frustrated rant, having neglected to mention it to anyone on Sodor up to this point. Goes to show that Gordon, despite being the "King of the Railway, Pride of the Line" on the little NWR, has really got nothing to boast when compared to the actual express engines on the mainland. Deep down, Gordon is actually as insecure as Henry or James, and while I might be completely overthinking here, it's a nice little touch.)
Sorry for the rant, I waited all day from this drop haha, just had to get it out of my head how much I love these movies.
Percy's a lot more goofy, than cheeky as of right now. lil man is adorable. Honestly the cut at 12:20 had me howling, I can't state that enough. Adore the Henry vs Percy dynamic going on here, It's shaping up nicely. Had a nice payoff too in this episode.
Gordon's praise and kindness to Percy in this episode was very sweet and nice to see. We don't get to see that side of him that often in these early periods of the NWR. Shows that at least he's not a vain boastful monster.
Hope get to see more dynamics between Percy and the others soon. Well done as always my good man.
Another great episode, absolutely amazing. I love how Percy keeps his naivety, but starts to develop his mischievous side. I like how Edward continues to be a father figure. Gordon's arc is great and shows that while he IS an asshole, he's not a irredeemable asshole. Herny and James continue to be hilarious, with their fighting and regret over the strike. Herny's anger is amazing, and I like how you foreshadowed his illness. Percy commenting on "Big Gordon" was excellent, and the singalman was great. I love how no one knows who Gordon is, and I like the reference to the Flying Scotsman.

NGL, Percy’s & Maurice’s (please tell me that becomes a running gag, easily the funniest part of this whole series) relationship seems like it’s going to be really heartwarming.

It’s only the early years on the NWR, Gordon is maturing and beginning to like it on Sodor…he just doesn’t want to admit it…
I’ve got several theories Trampy….
1. Gordon taking a liking to Percy comes out of nowhere in the original…but in this, he mentions Flying Scotsman…and apparently never told anyone about that…so I wonder if something happened between Scot and Gordon…something that makes Gordon act the way he does…
2. Henry is a downright…not gonna say the word lol…but it looks like his steaming troubles are coming back…
3. I dunno why…But Percy saying that Gordon didn’t need to stop…kinda implies he would’ve been fine if Gordon smashed him to bits…I wonder if Percy’s old colleagues made him think that his life wasn’t important…
All 3 Theories definitely fit.. and the 3rd one being the darkest one of all.
Seeing how quickly Gordon dismissed his brother, The Flying Scotsman, makes me think he has a rocky relationship with him. And I love how quickly Henry gets angry at Percy. He either can’t stand the guy or is still bitter about Percy blowing steam at him.
9:05 Self aware humor
I keep wondering whether Gordon's got a sort of... malicious charisma about him, and whether he's directing it towards Percy. He already used it to convince James and Henry to join him in striking, and avoided taking (full) responsibility for dragging Thomas down the main line. And then the way he interacts with Percy the whole time makes me wonder whether he's got some other angle, like he's trying to get on Percy's good side for his own selfish reasons.
Buuuuuut, with an ending like that - Gordon appreciating Percy's joke, even when Henry's the only one around to hear - I think he just genuinely has a soft spot for the little guy. And why wouldn't he? Percy may push a few buttons, but I really do get the impression it's just some innocent fun - who could stay mad at Percy?
...Oooooooooor maybe he's just subconsciously looking for someone who'll treat him kindly after he pushed everyone else away.

X3 I especially the relationship Gordon and Percy have in this. I especially love Percy in this, he's so innocent and it makes my heart race and melt when he started running backwards away from Gordon, I felt so bad for him and didn't want him to get hurt ;3
1:42 That is some really interesting case of fore-shadowing too...Which had me think of a fucked up yet awesome idea to embrace that on Henry's part(Probably as a potential deleted scene). instead of pulling the express in the OG episode and Edward pulling Gordon into the turn-table. I could actually imagine Henry being the one to pull Gordon instead as the latter complains about his assigned task or so, and all the complaining and then going back to the time he had a "plan". To which would make Henry so fucking fed up with Gordon's bullshit that he simply goes: "You know what? I had about mcfuckin' had it with this bitch :3 He dies." And pushes Gordon to the ditch.
