Lovely video Iain. Fine looking water. There are so many folks making films on the river these days, but you get it right by focusing on the actual fishing! Well done.

Another spellbinding video with a personal touch.
I just got back from the Grand Codroy river, Newfoundland. . Five days, averaging 10 hours fishing effort per day. 4 tugs, 2 smash takes on the dry bomber and only one played. Last year I hooked 9 and the year before 12. Sign of the times I fear. But I loved every minute of it, just as I love your videos. Your anticipation is my anticipation. Keep up the good fight!

Hi again Stevie Its difficult times. to organise and go on trips full of anticipation and to find each year that the fish are coming back in less numbers. we always say to ourselves that next year will be a bit better and pack our gear with the same enthusiasm we did the year before and still enjoy our trips .
tight lines on your next outing Cheers Iain 🥃

Fished there a lot a few year ago ,lower water , summer, first time there ,I was knee deep and gillie opposite said I was standing on their heads, indeed I got a heavy pull but no strike in knee deep water ! I was hooked ( on fishing salmon) was great to see this stretch again , Tight lines D

Hi Daniel. It's a lovely stretch to fish but this season there seems to be a lack of fish in most rivers and the Tweed is no exception Maybe the magnetic pool will draw you back sometime. Cheers Iain 🥃 PS I hope to add another W N vid shortly

Again we need some rain and the forecast looks like it might just happen! Watch out for the lightning though.
With you giving the time check I thought you were doing a night shift! 😎👍

When we have an evening trip Mr Mazo. it seems to go that quickly. I had a busy day earlier and it was challenging driving home in the dark Cheers Iain 🥃

@IainSB ,you fish well sir,its about being in the right place at the right time I think, you use proven flies, when you're booking fishing you can never be sure of heights, and pools fish well at certain heights, all has to come together, you put more effort in than most I'm sure, and you will get your rewards.

Great video there Iain just a shame you didn’t land one but still looked very fishy indeed. Cracking conditions there Ian I think if the river was a bit higher you would of been into them. Got a bottle standing by for when you do get one mate. 🍷Steve.

Iain, I’m fishing there this Saturday, I normally use a 13’4” rod for summer fishing in the north, would you recommend something bigger for upper Devine? Cheers

Hi Steven I think that the rain today might have lifted the water a bit for you . I have fished it often with my 12ft 9in rod I think that it may be wise to take a longer rod as most of the fish tend to travel up the far side close to the bank. when fishing the lower pool don't wade to deep in the bottom half. the pool that you can see in the distance has a massive island in the middle when the river is low and the fish tend to come up both sides . so let your fly come right onto the dangle before retrieving. I have seen anglers fishing the pool with the water up to their thighs and fish head and tail behind them. when I have pointed it out they seem to think that I am doing a wind up. I know of one angler that has caught fish over the last couple of years and about 50% have been close to the left bank. Tight Lines and let me know how you get on
      Cheers Iain. 🥃
