- We're out today putting underwater cameras inside canal locks to see what could be lurking down there. Also fishing them to see what fish species we can catch. I'm hitting 5 different canal locks to see if there's any difference between them. I was shocked at how many species I found! Enjoy!

Incredible footage! 👀🐟
What a genuine guy
Awesome footage. Perch are just so beautiful.
I've only just realised how much subscribers Ginger has now. Every single sub is deserved. He puts in so much hard work
Beautiful. So soothing to watch on a sunday. Nice editing sounds..relaxed. love it
Great footage. Amazing colouration on the perch underwater.
no words chris you are the best and you keep producing amazing vlogs thanks
Fantastic Chris mate. I always love your underwater vids. The colours on those Perch are just incredible. 🙂
Get this man his own TV show!
Love ur videos like this... so awesome seeing the different species doing there thing down there.. espesh love seeing the perch and roach
I wish there was a new ginger fisherman video everyday 😅can’t get enough of them Chris
fellow ginger who loves perch here- love the vids to man, kee p it up!
Re lock one V lock two-
lock one- lots sunlight, green weed growth covers bottom and sides-
Stacked with fish cos stacked with munchies for fish in the weed.
lock two appears very shaded, less light, and sides and bottom lots bare brick, some fallen sycamore leaves and a scattering of weedy growth in places..
almost no fish cos feeding is crap and its darker thus colder as well.
(ive spent some time snorkelling in small rivers you get similar effects on bits river next to each other)
The underwater footage was awsome love perch fishing
Love watching your videos mate 👍
G'day Chris, very intersection video . The perch had a great feed .All the best form down under mate 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great video session. Very interesting lock footage. Great learning experience 👍
Tremendous footage, loved watching it 👌
The water is beautifully clean.
Cracking session, Chris - thanks for sharing 🎣👊
That was really enjoyable Chris. Great footage.
Love me some Perch bashing - keep it up Chris!
Amazing footage! You mentioned only in passing, closing comments, the one thing I was expecting to see.... EELS! I bet you they were there all along, but you did not see them on the camera. They will be cleverly hidden somewhere but present in each lock all along. You should one day, or night, and do this as a measure of moon too, try to film underwater, as New Moon, Quarter, Half and Full Moon Phases and then back into Waning stages. See if you can make a UV underwater camera somehow and film the locks by day, into dusk and dark. Try various eel tactics, rigs, from bottom to surface rigs in full moon phases (when they are rumoured to surface more). It will be truly unique footage if you catch old Anguilla out on the prowl and if there is difference to their behaviours in different moon, or barometric pressure systems, as per the late great Barrie Rickards over Pike and Hot Spot Lair Theory on the Broads, where sadly, we also lost Charlie Bettell shortly after he took Hugh Lawrie out surface lure fishing.
I love underwater fishing videos. Maybe you can also do one while using soft lures and fishing on the bottom or dropshotting. You always have very goof videos 👏👏👏
Pure magic 👌🕊️😊
I really love this video! And i like it how kind you release the fish, this is what i call fishing! 🎣
You could work with the magnet fishing bunch and help them save time picking out the best stuff 😄
You have answered a few questions iv had about whats in the actual locks nice 1 cheers
Banger of a video.
Awesome footage thank you 👍🙏
Damn that water is clear...i liive on a narrowboat..and fish most days...hopefully i will find canal as clear as this soon...great video btw!
Reminds me of when I was younger having a fish tank with perch and stickle backs in it
Great video once again
Fabulous footage Chris! Loved your arrival on camera 😂😂😂😂
Nice clean perch. The bigger specimen obviously in the main canal!!
Enjoyed that footage 👌 got to be the best looking fish in uk waters ❤️🎣🐊
awsome video Chris.. nice footage interesting stuff🎣
Perch remind me of Clown loach and Tiger barbs when I kept tropical fish !
Used to jump ' town lock ' as a kid . Used to have a mesh fence in those days to help stop yourself because you needed a good run up !
They are so pretty in their right element❤
Top class vid mate 👍 perch are beautiful
There's a young fishing UA-camr called Wilfie, I really hope he watches your channel and learns all the stuff you show. I'd love to see him catching more fish
Oh mate wanna buy a camera put it in the old places I used to fish years ago interesting video as usual!
Best Chanel ever
Interesting how few maggots were taken on the drop.
Plz make more underwater videos!
Great footage, so clear, love the underwater videos, can I ask what camera you use please 🐟🎣
GREAT VIDEO, GREAT DESCRIPTION & DETAIL
Amazing. Thanks Chris.👍👍👍👍
I’am no longer a fisherman myself, I fished as a boy up till my middle teenage years and my teens were a long time ago now. I’ve only fished a couple of times since. However i find your camera videos absolutely fascinating, observing another world almost 🙂👍🏻
The footage is it altered/manipulated in anyway??? I imagined it’d be way more murky down there you see.
Chris, your video a while ago where you watched deadbaits underwater and managed to get bites only after twitching the bait caught me 2/2 of the fish I caught today so you have proof that my hours watching has finally come to fruition😂
Great content as always 👏🏼
Oh wow i havent seen a dace in years! Your local canal must be very healthy!
Good video mate 😊
Great 👍
Fascinating- who needs Naturewatch ?? Very odd, too that some perch seemed frightened of the worm and on occasions only when another fish approached it would they take. Maybe they don't see lobworms in the Lock-any theories out there ? I guess many like me had a little perch as their first fish...
So lucky to have a good Canal, my local one is awful!!
Brilliant video.
What a brilliant video Chris
Peter & The Perch- Its raining maggots hallelujah, it's raining maggots. You know the rest of the song lol
Brilliant video mate never thought there would be fish in the locks.. what underwater camera do you use as its clarity is good.
Interesting footage Chris, great video as always 🎣 ….Smithy
Love your videos chris ...best on youtube! How many rods do you own.. i bet its more than 4 ha
Great footage interesting as well.
I reckon the fish numbers will vary all the time, boats in and out, fish in and out. They are not static like a pond. Nice to see what's in there though.
Nice video again
Two interesting things for me... the Perch were not interested in eating the maggots on the drop and also weren't spooked when one was hooked.
What camera do you use mate ? Amazing footage by the way 👍🎣
Cheers Chris Great video, any chance of an underwater video near the overflow or weir.
Chris your content is up there with the best on UA-cam...just wondering what camera u use for under water and are they affordable ? I would love to be able to check out my favourite perch spots myself 🙂
Interesting that when you were striking/hooking/fighting fish, it didn’t seem to spook the others in the least🤷♂️
Interesting to see they don't jump on the food like crazy hungry animals, even if there are a lot of them on the spot.
Very nice video 🎣 tight lines
The only fishing channel my mrs lets me play on the TV. Must be that Yorkshire jawline 😂
It seems that everywhere you fish is loaded with fish....i wish was the same in London 🥺
Something interesting I learnt from this footage is that fish do not necessarily panic when one of their number is whisked away on a hook, they just seemed to carry on regardless.
Quite often the reason for perch following perch and I've witnessed it the other perch were trying to take the lure out of the hooked perch mouth was amazing to see
Just as I opened the tv, uploaded 49 seconds ago. Beer and chips and let's enjoy
What at 10:15 Am
A bit early for kung-fu?
Awesome video mate as always can I just ask what camera you use for your under water viewing I keep aquariums lots of them and I could use that for my aquarium channel
Excellent. I'm intrigued with the dorsal fin action. Whats that about?
Balance bud
amazing video ❤❤
That beard is glorious. Can't wait to stroke it in 3 weeks xxoxx
I spent an hour watching and feeding perch when I started fishing, and I noticed that they lock thier dorsal fin when they're feeding because that's when they're most vulnerable to attack. I learned to get ready to strike when I saw the fin rise, and increased my hook up rate 100%.
You are sporting a very healthy beard. "Men Only" beard fertilizer I assume?
legend ❤
Good one !
great work, can we have a catch-up on the baby carp you saved?
None of them spooked when their mate gets hooked. Interesting.
A big perch is the biggest fish 🐠😅
Hi ginger, where are these canals you fishl, some places look familiar to me?
Hi, What camera are you using?
You waters are a lot clearer than down here in Kent
❤
Interesting seeing how the perch take the worm, with 2 sucks and swallowing all the worm.
Mr Ginger fisherman, can you fo a similar one in a canal tunnel, there are some long ones you can walk through
Is there additional lighting on your underwater camera?
I wish our local canal was as clear as yours
Can you drop a camera into a deep quarry
Which camera are you using mate and does it give you a live feed?
Howcome you blur the lock numbers? I've done some geoguesser work to find out where your from and what area that canal is, its always so clear compared to ones near me, am I ok to come visit?
We need another snaggedbro colab
witch camera you used, nice footage
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ive had 3 pairs of those dunlop welly's they walk so nice but dont last.. esp dont put them anywhere hot to dry.. the insides will come out.
