They both have the same caps. The DA horns just have a resistor added to attenuate them. If your run the horns independently you literally don’t need either because you tuning them in your DSP.

    • @702motoringlasvegas4
      @702motoringlasvegas4  2 роки тому +1

Correct, if you are using a DSP and tuned correctly you do not need to use the crossovers on the Horn's, however on the flip side of that coin still using the crossovers does add extra protection for the horns and in some applications we still continue to use the crossovers especially for out of state bike installs we do for the extra protection.

We do not let ourselves as a business be controlled by the brands we sell - we have been doing this for 30+ years - new dealers tend to be the ones more controlled by the manufactures - we show and explain information about the brands we carry or may be out there that we may not carry to what we feel is truthful- we do not do business that involves deception

I'll put something in perspective for you as I have no stake in either brand, but to me, I find Hertz products to be overpriced for what they are... significantly overpriced! Although they are far from bottom of the barrel, they surely aren't worth the coin when compared to some others.
I've personally used a set of High Energy 6.5 and found them to be less than flattering. The voicing wasn't great like a JBL product and the sensitivity was highly inflated under testing. They rated sensitivity by the tweeter which had a poor crossover applied and not enough if at all resistors to bring the level down. If you look at the graph of say, the neo SPL show 6.5 coaxial you'll see what I mean. For that kind of money I would expect better considering other companies like Ground Zero, Diamond, and a few others offer a better package for the same or less cost. Even in their HDP amplifiers it is known to use clone boards that other less than stellar companies use like Soundstream & PPI. That's not something I expect from such a brand that many hail as an upper tier.

Hertz gives you a polypropylene capacitor which is the best form of capacitor for high passing a tweeter whereas Diamond gives you an electrolytic capacitor with an inductor for a steeper slope but the electrolytic capacitor is the cheapest and harshest sounding when used in a crossover for a tweeter. Diamond took the time to mount the capacitor and inductor to a PCB board and solder some wire leads onto it but that makes no difference in quality or technology.
All that said, I am sure the Diamond sounds better, never been a huge fan of the Hertz.
Having a vent on the back of a midbass doesn't automatically mean it is going to cool better. So many more variables. The material of the voice coil could have certain thermal properties in which it can handle power better for a longer amount of time. Also, the sides of the speaker basket can be and most likely are venting for the voice coil.
Magnet size doesn't mean anything either. The weight of the overall suspension will dictate how much force you need behind it. A lighter suspension can use less force because it is more efficient. Also the quality/rating of the type of magnet used is another variable.

Speaker companies use capacitors to block unwanted frequencies for
better sound quality, less desegregation & damage. High frequency goes to tweeters.

No that that’s out the way.
Not trying to get in a pissing match about the brands but where is the musical data. I’ve watched some videos that compare speakers using an RTA and all meter to so different ranges and over volume. A hole in the magnet doesn’t make it a superior speaker. I’ve heard the Hertz SV and that thing is LOUD. Seems like most of what you said is based on opinion. Do the Diamonds the justice they deserve and SHOW your viewers the difference. Hook them up and and leta see how they perform

    • @702motoringlasvegas4
      @702motoringlasvegas4  3 роки тому

You may be referring to the MP654 speakers, regarding our video yes allot of it is our opinion, further backed up with physical proof that the eye can see, just a hole in a magnet you are correct does not necessary make it better but when you think about it it actually does as the speakers heat from the voice coil can vent help keep the speaker cooler, take a Harley Davidson, some are air cooled and some are liquid cooled, we all know what happens to the air cooled motors in heat in stop and go traffic, take the liquid cooled, they will keep going, so in reality there is a difference, regarding hearing the MSPRO65 Diamond Audio Mids you hear them on every bike we do, as that is all a customer will purchase these days, regarding using meters, etc to test each model, we will take that into consideration but in all honesty we will more than likely never use the time to do that test as Diamond Audio has so far exceeded what ever Hertz has or is doing that there no longer is any competition involved between the two brands, again, in our opinion.

Thanks for the response. And yes I was referring to the MP654. I was just trying to be fancy and shorten the name.
I don’t argue that DA is an amazing product. I also agree with you about some of the differences you pointed out. But in my opinion those are features that may help the longevity of the speaker and not necessarily its performance. But again I’m just throwing my 2 pennies. I still like DA and would run them in a heart beat.
Good work with the videos. Keep them coming. Even though this one was controversial, it still provided information about what Diamond is doing.
Can you please do a favor and do a quick video on the saddle bag quick disconnect. How they install and disconnect. does that center piece screw to the bad to seal the hole? I almost bought them from your site but there just wasn’t enough information.

I Disagree... I Have both products sold as authorized dealers from friends and there’s a difference depending on your ear quality and preference? Diamond is Loud! Probably the loudest... but Hertz is clear & picks up more sound out of tracks then anyone else... sonits like comparing a Bose system to a JBL... both sound good but depending on your sound preference it’s a matter of choice? If u ride fast and want to hear you stereo buy diamond because it’s loud... but if you like to hear sound that you like to be surprised by like bose ... then buy that..? I kinda wish there was a medium to this but as of now it’s between these 2...

Hertz magnets are not as big around as the Diamond because they are thicker. Diamond has better ventilation than the Hertz 200L yes, but the Hertz 200L is a WOOFER NOT a midrange speaker like the Diamond. Hertz does not claim these are a "Motorcycle or Marine" speaker. Hertz SPL Series are a Pro Loudspeaker. Diamond MSPRO8 have a frequency range of 100hz -9khz. Hertz is 44hz-4500khz. You are comparing Apples to Oranges. It Appears that Diamond Audio is paying better commission here. Also, back on the waterproof claim...THEY'RE NOT! They are water "RESISTANT" like the Hertz. They basically spray a coating on them similar to "Kiwi Camp Dry". You can do the same with ANY speaker.

We appreciate your reply, seems we have a couple of Hertz Guys responding the last few days, ol electromedia must sure be feeling the Hurt down there right about now. Ha Ha - But OK, let's get serious here and address your responses OK?
      (1) Hertz does not claim these are a "Motorcycle or Marine" speaker. That's Correct, sortove, regardless Diamond Audio DOES STAKE THAT CLAIM and in essence blows Herts away in clarity & loudness when used in Harley applications.
      (2) Also, back on the waterproof claim...THEY'RE NOT! They are water "RESISTANT" like the Hertz. YOU SURE ABOUT THAT????? MS69CX COAX SUBS WE BELIEVE IPX65 MARINE GRADE COMPLIANT SPECIFICATIONS To be the Real Deal, are you saying Diamond Audio is Lying?

Hertz 200L is a “WOOFER” anyone with any knowledge at all can look at both specifications and tell the difference PERIOD. I’m not a fan of either one. I’m just putting the REAL TRUTH out there for readers. The Diamond Audio 8” in fact does play louder because their sensitivity level is 100db. Hertz is 94.5db. Hertz plays lower and is called a “WOOFER” it’s NOT a “MIDRANGE” like the diamond. Anyone is way more than welcome to examine the specs on each of these speakers. OK Lets Gooo
Your 1st message to this UA-cam video was in reference to two specific points of interest
      (1) That the Hertz 200L which is actually a SV200L is a Woofer and not a Midrange like the Diamond Audio MSPRO8
      (2) That the Diamond Audio Product shown was not Marine Grade or better known as IP65 Compliant and simply sprayed with some type of spray to make the product water resistant.
Funny though that you never point out or discuss the other many, many Diamond Audio & Hertz comparisons.
So since we have already stated we run a Honest and Ethical Retail & eCommerce business we will be honest in our responses to you
Hertz SV200L is a Woofer and Yes Diamond Audio MSPRO8 is a MidRange we do not believe we stated anything different regarding this in the Video we posted comparing the two, we do find it interesting that you choose to single out this one Hertz Model, because this would be the ONLY item that is the closest to comparison with the Diamond Audio and this specific detailed information would pretty much be known to people who are very familiar with the products specifications, ie: connected to electromedia - for the readers who did not know who electromedia is this is the Parent company that owns Hertz & Addison
      Furthermore,
You attacked Diamond Audio product stating it was no better than Hertz regarding withstanding the elements related to Harley usage because all that was used on Diamond Audio product was some type of spray, as shown in our last response to you that was FAKE NEWS - Your attempt to make Diamond Audio hold less value only backfired in your face as shown and Proven Diamond Audio is in fact IP65 MARINE GRADE COMPLIANT SPECIFICATIONS
Any customer that has purchased Diamond Audio from 702 Motoring Las Vegas and has experienced any type of issue weather a true defect OR customer abuse has had their product exchanged - a very painless process - what does HERTZ do? let's just say you do not want me to get started with that information, heck that would make for a whole new video the hassle a customer will go threw to get a Hertz item warrantied or even a Dealer for that matter.
      Lastly,
In closing, just like in Poker, never let them read you and you my friend revealed two tell tell signs in your last reply,
      (a) YOU STATED I’m not a fan of either one. REALLY - Then why do you know the specifics as you do and feel so compelled two twice now spend your time with these replies to the video and then why would you even say that if it was not exactly the opposite? trying to throw us off the scent? no way, we can smell a electromedia employee for a distance, promise.
BUT WAIT, Theeeeeere is one more thing you did say -
      (b) YOU PERSONALLY ATTACK THE BUSINESS OF 702 MOTORING LAS VEGAS "No wonder the company you represent at 702 motoring in Las Vegas only has a 3.1 star rating.. WOW."
That's coming from a person that is emotional over this specific issue and that my friend makes you a electromedia employee or someone very closely connected to the company.
The ONLY reasoning for you and the other friendly fella is because you are attempting to stop the bleeding - Well guess what? I am hear to tell ya you have a Gusher Going On, you are in NO WAY GOING to stop what Diamond Audio has going - Your product is outdated, jeez, even DS18 is just as good as HERTZ at 1/2 the price
The only improvement Hertz has made is put Neodymium magnets on OLD SPEAKERS, WOW what Product development you have going on there, putting yourself way out there, Ha Ha
Friendly Competition, it's a great thing when you have the Winning Hand, guess what electromedia, you have not seen anything yet, WAIT - More is coming, we are actively testing it now, let Rob know 702 Motoring Las Vegas says Hi - "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?"

----DA tweet has the same setup but with a coil. I wouldn't call that "A lot" of "Technology."
----"Shooting straight...." We call it BEAMING (for emphasis). The phase plug actually REDUCES on-axis beaming. Those cool looking fan blades on the DA don't really do anything.
---"The loudest setup on planet Earth" like what is this ... some kind of cartoon?
---The vents are debatable. But, for one thing, they ARE NOT typically designed for cooling. It has more to do with spring effect of the air behind the dust cap; compression and rarefaction of the air, which can cause DISTORTION--mechanical. Many times, one can hear the distortion as squeaky wizzer (woofer) or a cupped hand (tweeter).

And, I have found over the past 28 years that people who mostly listen to Rock, for example, tend to like Kickers, and boat people like Polk, just in general; not everyone, just what I commonly see. These bass heads like Sundown and these other new brands that produce speakers with way oversized motors, lots of mechanical distortion, but boom boom away. SPL SPL SPL. Not my thing.
I in fact typically make my own system using raw drivers. And I would suggest that for any pro or someone who just can't seem to find the right sounding prefab component set, etc.

Ironic because 702 motorsports sells Hertz ( conflict of interest ? )
Why piss & shit on brands & products you sell ? Hertz might not
be water proof but what really is ?

We carry both brands - we are not hating one one over the other just explaining the differences to better help consumers- if you call that hating than well that is your opinion
