Not just "sick people", it only goes after able bodied, healthy people as it's instinctive desire to propogate will cause the infected to ignore those deemed "non-viable hosts". A blind person, a person with missing legs, both were also ignored by the infected.
It's sad to think those who fought for weeks to stay alive die from explosion attacks because they were sick already. This movie is probably the best zombie movie by far, especially for its time.

Wasn't a drug, he literally gave himself a disease and that is what makes them stop attacking you, if you have something that they consider to make you too sick of a host
He discovered that they dont attack if you are terminally ill, it has to do with the fact that a virus needs a healthy host for it to live so it doesnt even try to jump on the bodies it detects are not. The metal crate he carries has viruses inside that they will make vaccines out of. Vaccine they made in the end was essentially a collection of viruses that make you look terminally ill to them to sort of mask u, but doesnt kill u.
Funnily enough, if you think about it they probably would have! Considering how slow some symptoms of either disease or vaccines can be, it could've taken some time for him to show signs of being ill. Even then, how a zombie senses the illness/vaccine is unclear. One could guess sent, but that would mean they would have to be next to him to smell it, and we've seen how some of them jump!

When Zombie outbreak does happen. The first thing the government should be focused on is evacuating as many scientists as possible and provide them with the safest environment and resources. Of course it’s also important to evacuate civilians as well.
Honest to god, if they had named this movie something else, it would have gotten a better reputation. This movie is one of the better zombie movies out there.

In every zombie story I know, from World War Z over The Last of Us or Game of Thrones to fucking Minecraft, the zombies never eat humans. They either bite or kill humans in order to make them become new zombies. If the zombies would eat their victims, how could the zombie virus spread?

Zombies biting and moving on makes a lot more sense because how are they going to spread the infection if they incapacitate the people they find. The hosts's goal is to spread not to eat everything so biting and moving on is actually far more accurate.
Zombie movies are often underated and only the ones with serious script get's attention and fame whereas others get's lame. For Example movies like: World War Z (2013), Dawn Of The Dead(2004), Go Goa Gone(2013) have serious script put into a plot which makes sense.
It was great when this filmed here in Glasgow. I have a funny story involving my friend Neelum who was an extra. I worked as a runner on the shoot and everyone involved signed an NDA. My pal Neelum didn’t obey this all the time however so one time when we were out of set at Kimbles, the coffee place in the St Enoch centre she was talking about certain scenes in public and luckily I had some silver tape in my backpack as I was required to have some for sticking down cables etc so I taped over Neelum’s mouth with said tape con air style so she wouldn’t reveal anything to listening ears!
I distinctly remember this scene! I didn't Actually watch it, but it a part of it played in on the trailer that was shown on the channel where i was watching it on! Really Nostalgic!
My favorite part was how they just immediately took the boy in & he became one of theirs from now on. No thinking about it at all. I don't believe it was just because his parents helped them either.
0:27 to 0:42 These Zombies are perhaps the most interesting type of zombie I’ve ever seen. They’re smarter, stronger and faster than most others. Not to mention, you turn in less than 30 seconds. (They say it’s 12 seconds, but if you watch closely the first time someone turns on screen, it’s closer to 25 to 30 seconds.) However, one thing I still don’t understand is this: if “you cannot make a dead person sick”, (as they say earlier in this film), then why do the Zombies avoid sick people? Do the other diseases cancel out the zombie virus? Do the Zombies feel empathy?
They avoid anyone who isn't able-bodied, so it isn't just about sickness - blind people, people missing legs, people with terminal illnesses, etc. because they won't be able to spread the disease, so why waste time when there are better, healthier options?
