    How did you know the sensor had failed? Thank you for this video!

      My truck was running rough at idle and I thought it was going to be the MAP sensor. It did help a bit but it ended up being the throttle body gasket that was the issue. After replacing that it was much much better. (I have a video doing that as well)
      At the time it was also throwing a code 32.
      Thanks for watching!

    Always cover the throttle body with a rag when handling small parts near by....

    did that fix your problem? What were the symptoms? Did you get any codes from check engine? I've got a similar setup in a 94 suburban. Accelerates uneven when cold, and misses at idle when warmed up. Been through cap, rotor, plugs, IAC, replaced a couple grounds, found a leaking vacuum hose on the top of the engine and replaced, new air filter, mechanic claims fuel pump and pressure is fine. My computer very occasionally will kick out a 34 and 35 which are MAP and IAC.

      ehkruse1 it seemed to fix it for a while. I had similar symptoms to what you’ve listed. High idle. Rough running especially when cold. The map sensor has seemingly gotten rid of the rough running. That may be in part due to the summer weather. I checked the codes before hand and I got 35 which I believe was the MAP if I remember Correctly (maybe I have it mixed up with the 34)
      I also changed the coolant temperature sensor as well. It didn’t really do anything but it was cheap so I tried that. I currently still have a high idle so my next steps are to try the IAC and see. Maybe just clean it and see what’s happening after that

      Finally got the video put together. This fixed my issue. Hopefully you had figured yours out a while ago but if not here is what I did to fix the high idle.

    Why did you replace your map sensor

      My truck was running rough and throwing this code. This didn’t fix mine but it turned out to be the intake gasket though.

    I have a 1990 silverado and when the engine warms up is has a little jump to the idle when running any ideas to what this might be

      Mine ended up being the throttle body gasket that was bad. I did a video on mine as well. I would check it first because it’s real easy to do.

      Could also be the MAP sensor or possibly the EGR valve?

    What faults does they map sensor cause?

    That hose you have your hand on right at 0:30, what's that called? My truck has it jerry rigged with aluminum hosing

    • @AllWheelsDown
      @AllWheelsDown  5 років тому

      panterask8r14 are you talking about the smaller plastic ones off the throttle body? Some of those go to the MAP sensor. Some route out towards the passenger side

    • @Defund_HOA.
      @Defund_HOA. 5 років тому

      Gotcha. Did you have a hard time taking off that vacuum line from the sensor? I had to disconnect the line from the throttle body because the line towards the sensor just would not come off & it doesn't look like it's suppose to.

    • @AllWheelsDown
      @AllWheelsDown  5 років тому

      panterask8r14 from the map sensor itself? No it came off pretty easy. Those plastic lines are usually brittle on these older trucks and break really easy so that’s happened to those before

      I did this on it and fixed my issues. Sounds similar to what you’re experiencing. Let me know if it works

      @@AllWheelsDown I'll definitely grab a new gasket and see if that helps, I wasn't really having a high idle issue if anything it's a lower idle and that's when it stumbles, at light red lights and in the timmies coffee line ect

    • @AllWheelsDown
      @AllWheelsDown  3 роки тому +1

      @@wolfeman6380 hopefully that fixes it. Mine was acting like a that a bit too. You can test it by spraying carb cleaning on the base of the throttle body while it’s running. If the engine bogs down then the gasket is probably bad.

      @@AllWheelsDown it helped a bit I usually get a code 32 light when I'm cruising 90km on circle then sometimes it shuts off after I slow down and I've swapped all the EGR stuff so thinking maybe capping it off with a block plate might fix the issue, just don't wanna be stuck with an engine light on all the time 😂

    Do you have to reset after replacing sensor

    • @AllWheelsDown
      @AllWheelsDown  5 років тому

      Roberto Gomez I did the reset. It only takes about 30 seconds to do

    • @jonhsmith2706

      When you reset all i need to do is disconnect the battery for a minute?

      Jonh Smith yep! You unhook it for about 30 seconds and it should clear out anything
