The reason the yoga class didn't work is because you used the downstairs one, and the downstairs green instructors mat is NOT on the ground. It's hard to see, but it jumped up to be level with the foundation because its footprint is so big. Teaching yoga is actually the least glitchy way to make money with this pack.
I placed this lot in oasis springs. it’s always so sunny and I matches well with my neighbourhood. I love this build and have used it sooo much since it went on the gallery. It’s so handy for my self care specialist sim to go to every day and earn some money!!!
Listen as a person who gets massages regularly outdoor massage sounds terrifying. You gotta undress & it’s in a nice dark room super relaxing and a safe environment. Outdoor? Not so much 😅

I think combining spa day with other packs is super fun. Spa day and snowy escape, island living, cottage living, get famous, outdoor retreat, hell even romantic garden! Just some ideas if you wanna build more spas 😊

I used your lot. I was able to have my sim lead a yoga class upstairs. When I tried to do it downstairs, only one sim was able to participate. The other sims got stuck on the foundation and kept trying to step down to enter the class. Also I found it easier to lead a class under "private" and select the sims I wanted. When the class would fail is because sims couldn't route fast enough to join. Even though the lot is really lovely, I think there needs to be more space for the sims to move around.
You were talking about the walls around the inner pools, and I was literally thinking about that old Deligracy lets play where the child died. I'd say that she was surprised, because she was doing actions with other characters on the lot, and then she got the notification that the kid died and it zoomed her over to the dead kid in the single tile pool. haha
I go to a spa with my mum a few times a year and although some areas are very light, the area where you go to have treatments (eg massages) is quite dark with lots of ~mood~ lighting and it works really well at relaxing you!! too much white/light stuff can sometimes be problematic when you just wanna have a nap and you’re surrounded by too much light. This long winded ramble was just to say I appreciate your dark wall/floor scheme from a realism perspective :’)

Love the lighted fountain. Love the haunted sauna. But as an LMT, you could seriously use more individual massage rooms. Most strangers aren't chill with having a couples massage. Most.
The yoga mats: I think the mats may have been placed too close together. I remember the first time I made a spa (years ago now) I had an issue where sims could not get to the mats for a lesson even though they were right there. You need to turn OFF the MoveObjects cheat, place the student maps, and then make sure there's space between the mat FOOTPRINTS, not the mats themselves.

I downloaded the lot, and can confirm its because the mat is considered on the platform so its floating. I flipped the way they were (the instructor mat closer to the door and it worked great. The build looks amazing Kayla :)

My husband recently accidentally deleted my save of 800 hours worth of gameplay so I am painfully redoing all of the neighborhoods(mostly gallery lots) I have finished brichester completely, willow Creek residential, and Newcrest community lots. I am going to use Kayla's coffee shop and spa in San Monsyhno when I redo it in New York/San Francisco 1920s industrial fashion.
I like the darker colors for a spa, reminds me more of ones I’ve gone to before. The darker colors and dimmer lights make it nice and relaxing, almost like sensory deprivation. Normal spas almost feel too clinical to me now.
A fun idea would be combining the items from spa day, snowy escape, fitness and backyard oasis in order to build a spa. There is so much potential for like a huuuuuge spa that includes everything a sim could dream off.

To teach a yoga class you have to invite the sims (don't need to know them), plus you can do it anywhere as long as you got the teachers yoga mat, also if you're doing that in a park, no need to waste money on mats for the sims, they'll spawn one when they join your class and it doesn't matter how the mats are placed
I bet you'd like a massage, it's so relaxing. Also outdoor massage is hard because it's an environment that you can't control so you have to worry about it being too light/too hot/buggy etc.

I've been to a private little spa, it had one sauna, a pool and a hot tub, and a table with snacks. You could rent the room for like max 10 people. You could also get your nails done there, but that was in a separate room.

Most spas are actually dark but have a lot of large windows to let in natural light so this spa is actually more realistic then most I have seen in the sims

honestly, i prefer those darker, more natural spas. my chiropractor's office also offers some day spa treatments and it's this dark/industrial/contemporary look and it is SO much more soothing than the blinding bright white and stuff.
The spas in Germany usually have way more pools and saunas then massage places. I think the update is missing the sauna instructor waving their towel and handing out honey or salt body scrubs… it’s a legit side job for lots of sport students here.

Spas are the absolute best. The "Arken spa" near me is just wonderful. There is a steampunk spa/hotel near my grandparents and its also really cool

You should build a blue suburban but then turn it into a spa inside and call it a “blue spa-burban”
